Jase 43,479
True but that's how it's done today.Comparing the amount of games and points won, like people was doing with van Gaal and moyes. Doesn't mean it's right. People only compare the amount of games and points when the argument suits them. Yet when it doesn't, we hear nothing about the points comparison. We may have finished third last season but not once we had to worry about our place in the top 4 and Mourinho turned us into title challengers, with pretty much the same squad. Say what you want, the Europa league title is not what Chelsea want to be winning. Had Jose won that last year it would've probably led to his sacking. Think the more accurate description for that is the Europa League is not the competition we should be competing in. But because we found ourselves in it then, we could only do what's best and that was to win the competition. After all, by winning that trophy, we became only the fourth club to win every single UEFA competition. You would be lying if you said didn't feel happy or even celebrate when we beat Benfica in the final.
Jase 43,479
I wish Jose would learn a thing or two from him about rotation..Under Benitez, we played something ridiculous like 69 matches iirc and actually finished the season with some of our best performances. Now, a lot of players seem burned out in mid March. Funny thing is, Mourinho does rotate his squad, though not as often as Benitez, but for whatever reason, he suddenly became too stubborn and decided to stick with the same starting XI for almost every game. Even more bizarre when he's an experienced manager.
Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
In ONE year at SCUM he won 3 cups ... BUT IF he won he won a SECOND RATE trophy he still won ,, DONT let your prejudice blind youThe only thing he won of significant note is Champions league (which is obviously the holy grail) and La Liga. Still we're talking about the biggest job in all of football I don't for a second think Bentitez's CV gets him on that hot seat... Sorry he just hasn't done enough to warrant taking over. Having said that I hope he gets it I would love to see that team fall even further from grace.

Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
Hey its a title that to most people is the third most valuable after cl and league.Of course Chelsea don't want to be playing that, but still good enough cup.But its nothing to revere him for winning. Each time we played in it it was a reminder of how far we've fallen. Regardless sure he did well beat Rubin Kazan, Steaua, Basel and Benfica(the only half way decent team) in the midst of all the hatred that was being spewed at him match after match. That truly was one of my lowest points as a chelsea supporter. DiMatteo won us the holy grail and was fired a few months later with FSW coming in... That was such a terrible season. Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
PLEASE explain to me .. What is the biggest job in football? The manager of Real Madrid it is without question the hottest seat and one that requires a certain type of personality to handle it. If Benitez gets it apart of me would love it! I would learn spanish just to so I could read all the press clippings and understand all the jeering from the fans. Doesn't take away from his achievement though. RDM should've lasted the year... It was a completely new team with no striker.

Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
I wasnt a fan of Benitez ... but he did a good for us under VERY difficult circumstancesMy anger was less at the fact that fat cunt was our manager and more at the ownership who knew the supporters absolutely detested this guy and still hired him. Showed they really didn't care what we thought.

Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
Good. Separates the proper fans from the glory hunters. Some will say that while others will say its the glory hunting that has upset a lot of the supporters. A good friend of mine who supported Chelsea longer than me stopped supporting them because he was pissed off with all the chopping and changing in order to secure success. He was a diehard blue who abhorred the clubs policy of "If you don't win you're gone!" He loved RDM and obviously hated FSW and decided to go support another club where he thought the clubs ethos should come first and winning and losing secondary.I can't say that I could argue with him in that particular case.
