Can we develop Oscar into a CM?

Slightly off topic but does anyone watch Pat Nevin's weekly analyses? He did a segment on Azpilicueta and thinks he should be tried in CM. I'm normally skeptical of the Wenger style of 'reinventing' players and playing them out of position but on the other hand, why not try azpi in CM? He's not really a great crosser but very good on the ball and presses well. He's more disciplined than Luiz, more tactically aware and has the energy to get up/down the pitch. Thoughts?

Azpilicueta is way too uncomfortable on the ball for that. He isn't the sort of player that can get out if tight spaces and he isn't used to playing in the middle - also don't think he has the passing range. No chance.

The title of this thread should have been, 'Can we devolp David Luiz into a defensive midfielder' and the the answer would be..... YES WE CAN!!!

I have no idea why anyone would be against him playing in that role. He has the perfect game to suit the pivot and that has been obvious for ages. People say he can't play there for the most ridiculous reasons, in fact reasons of such stupidity I care not to remember them.

I think yes, he has all the tools to play there. To be perfectly honest, when I didn't knew him, when we first signed him, I thought he would be the direct replacement for Lamps, from my Point of View I would never have called him a #10 but so tastes are different and as long as he performs it isn't up to me.

Some act like the world would go down in flames if Oscar was a CM, I think he would be more then world class if he plays there. His stamina, his shooting, his nonsense passes and Rambo isn't a beast either but plays pretty well in the CM-Role... so why shouldn't he be able?
