And doubt the club will be such an idiot themselves to pay a 21 year old Hazard then, however talented he is, 180k p/w wages. Will only put ourselves in a disadvantage position when we negotiate contract renewal next time, if that happens. Moreover, the club has a wage structure in which they operate with and we aren't as ridiculous, like the media claim to be, to just simply offer a player astronomical wages like 300k p/w wages to someone for example or even 200k, 250k etc.

NO it sounds very plausible to me when you factor in that almost every top club in the world was after him. He had a release clause that everyone was willing to pay. Why do you think he chose us? Because we were the champions of Europe? Get real..

I'm not saying that he is on 185kpw because only the club and player know for real, but it is definitely possible.

Choo Choo, you need to cut down on those *ahem* hammers. It's clearly having an effect on you. :Goober:

Just because he was chased by the big European clubs last summer, it doesn't mean we are going to go over the top in paying the wages just to get him here. The wages maybe a factor but what led to Hazard choosing us over the others was game time, which he kinda mentioned last year. We were able to offer him consistent game time because we had looked to rejuvenate the old squad by bringing new and fresh players in. Had he gone to the likes of United, City or Real Madrid, doubt he would have played as much as he did here last season. And furthermore, the French and Belgian media, who knew more about Hazard, said he's only earning around 110k-120k p/w wages which is arguably far more trustworthy than the English media who are forever trying to paint the picture that we pay astronomical wages to players and they only join us because of money. There were also actually reports that United offered more wages to Hazard than we did.

Yes I'm sure Eden would have played second fiddle to Nani, James Mlner and Callejon last season had he not joined us

There's no proof that the French media is right and the English is wrong. You choose to believe the French media because you want them to be right. I'm saying that either can be right and it is a possibility that we did offer him those wages.

And then you conveniently ignored the likes of Nasri, Silva, Young, Valencia, Kagawa, Ronaldo, Ozil, Di Maria...

No, I did not choose the French/Belgian media because I want them to be right. I'm more inclined to believe them because they know Hazard's situation better and also because the English media always have an agenda against us and tends to have a negative slant in their news whenever it's about us.

Silva and Ozil play centrally...and Nasri?!

I'm inclined to believe them too but that's besides the point because you originally said that there is no way that the club had given him 185K and I'm saying that it is possible.

When are we going to bring in performance based contracts, rewarding the fighters and winners. Still want to see more sustainability from the club.

Think City have implemented that sort of concept. That would grant Torres 20kpw

Silva primarily starts or plays out wide with a high tendency then to drift in to central positions..

I'm saying it's impossible or highly unlikely, whichever one, because of our wage structure. We aren't going to break it and pay over the odds for 21 y/o now and leave ourselves in an undesirable situation later just because he was chased by many other big clubs. We got Hazard for more reasons than just the wages.

Arent these the wages on Football manager? I know Hazard is on 185.000 in FM13.

that's another reason why I'm sure this is true. Sega Interactive is probably the only public company that has the rights into the databases of footballing leagues. Every information that they provide, is 99.5% close to the real truth.

Really ? I mean really ? Think about this for a second.

Clubs aren't willing to make their wages public but when a football game asks them they just give it to them and allow them to make it public to the world ?

That simply doesn't make any sense.

Do you know what SI is and what they do? Do your research. For unknown clubs, they make educated guesses after extensive research.

As for clubs like Man Utd, they do a financial review each year around this time and an extensive report is there for everyone to see.

The Deloitte Report is an example. Moreover as I said Sporting Intelligence, have a first hand look into wages, financial profits, losses etc.

The detailing of these information depends upon your clubs corporate facility. If you have a good corporate facility then you get a detailed report at the end of the season. But you are at a poor club with low/very low corporate facility, you won't get enough details.

as far as I'm concerned, Chelsea is a huge club.

Another instance is Everton. They don't have a scouting system. They have a partnership with SI so that they get their database a few weeks before the company releases its yearly edition. This means that Everton does not have an independent scouting system of their own when it comes to finding players. I have written on this subject as well, so I know what I'm talking about.
