Walt's hubris has always been his downfall, right from dispelling Hank's theory that Gale could be Heisenburg to keeping the book. Love how they shot this episode, the effects/visuals when Hank realises at the beginning and the confrontation at the end were perfect.

Great episode. Very high expectations for the rest of the season, will be interesting to see how we end up in the situation shown in the beginning of the episode. Wonder what he'll do with the big ass machine gun he has in the trunk of his car.

Its about an ordinary family man, a chemistry teacher, who after finding out he has cancer decides to start cooking crystal meth in order to secure his familys financial future once hes dead. Its all about the transformation of a shy but proud father and husband to "Heisenberg".

And that transformation is by far the best that i have seen on a TV or ant movie. No wonder Bryan won 3 consecutive emmy's for this!

This show really has a slow start. Watching the Pilot.

Truly stunning beginning of the episode. The apocalyptic feel of it all, that everything was royally fucked... I didn't realize it was his (probably) former home until he got the ricin from behind the socket, that's how bad it looked. And that neighbour lady was genuinely frightened seeing Walt. I honestly have no idea how it's all going to lead up to that point, I can't even guess.

watching the first episode right now & it's soo freakin' genius. I remember when I was first told about this show, I downplayed it. However after watching some episodes on a consistent basis, I became hooked. Sometimes I wish I wouldn't be such a stubborn person.
