What about most of the games in two and a half years when his presence has been a clear hindrance? The 17 and 24 game goal droughts? 5 months without a PL goal? Sulking to the press, saying he didn't care if we win or lose?. Ironically the goal on your avatar came from him losing the ball in the dangerous area and nearly undoing 180 minutes of hardwork.

Torres has played 987 minutes in the EPL since the start of the year and scored ONE goal; Mikel has played 609 minutes in the EPL since the start of the year and scored ONE goal. Mikel has better minutes per goal average than Torres in the League in 2013 as well

Torres plays an above average game against Swindon (it wasnt even a great game), and people already ask that he becomes our main striker again...

Torres had two very good chances one on one with the keeper and as expected he fluffed them, yet he's in great form and should be our CF!

Actually i think Eto'o has done fine, Everton we played well, and the thing is while he hasn't been amazing, he gets involved in play a lot more than Torres does, Nish posted something is Eto'o's thread backing that up.

Torres may have done ok against Bayern and Swindon, but Hull he was awful, one touch in the penalty area for a forward, one.

Eto'o has been fine. He is getting up to speed but he still looks a much better player than Torres. Technically the difference between the two is night and day.

I know who I trust not to disappear and contribute more over the course of the season.
