DYC. 7,542
Would that be the worst thing in the world though? Yes he paid way over the odds for SWP but he did add a directness to our attack and he was a player who could change a game coming off the bench. It's a good thing for us but bad for him. Great to have a player like him in the squad but it would be better for his own career to stay at Wigan or join another side where he'll actually play regularly. Hence the SWP II comment. Hence the SWP II comment.Well he would get to train and play with top quality players. I think he would start a few games too, just like Marin. BleedsBlue 1,549
He won't get the chance to play games but its good to know that we have a dependable third choice striker and winger in the side.

I think he would start a few games too, just like Marin.Training with class players only makes you improve slightly. And yes, he probably will start a few games but that's not what you want as a footballer. Marin's situation is different as he's (far) more talented than Moses imo. I personally don't think Moses has what it takes for the elite, like with SWP.
magicrico 175
Again SWPII? Possibly. Except this guy isn't cost 21 million. He's gonna cost 6-10 Million (depending on who you believe)I again don't see how this is a bad signing at all. He will have impact. He has pace, power, a good dribbler and definitely is one of Wigans best players based on what we have seen in the last year. He's 21 too which means he has room for improvement. He is a low risk signing with potential to be a decent enough player and signing for us, I really don't see what everyones issue is with the guy.Sorry if I am repeating myself here. lol Any other winger, would cost alot more than Moses for a similar player, lets not forget going abroad for players and paying 16Million plus for something, then taking into account a new league/setting is a fairly high risk. May aswel go in low, grab a bargain who has PL experience and use it to our advantage.
Tomo 21,751
You have to be very good to fake your age being born in Belgium.SWP II in the making with this one.The difference in price means this won't be a SWP II.

Sheva. 5,373
Can't say I'm excited in any way about this transfer...I'd rather have him as RW against Brighton, than Ramires. So i'm happy if this happens.
DYC. 7,542
The difference in price means this won't be a SWP II.I meant him making a pretty good squad player but not expecting anything more than that. I actually forgot about the fact that SWP cost us a lot of money back then. Wasn't his fault anyway.
The Skipper 20,609
SWP really wasn't as bad as many make him out to be. He was useful. Moses will be useful too.
BlueLion. 21,491
I love Ramires, but he's borderline useless out on the wing. The only reasons he is being played there are:Sturridge is even more uselessHe's fastWe have no better optionsMoses will play more games than people expect. Funkyflashman 187
Did Moses not play more often on the left last year? That's what I've heard, any truth to this? If so will he be a good choice for the right?
BlueLion. 21,491
TBH I only watched the full 90 minutes of Wigan 5 to 6 times last season. Each time I saw him, he was predominantly on the right but he definitely played both central and out wide on other occasions. He was on the left when we played them and won 2-1 at home. BLionheart 516
Victor Moses IMO definitely has the potential to be a much more complete player than SWP , Moses has other attributes in addition to his Pace and Directness , He is physically a lot better than SWP , Better ball control , better 1st touch , much more of a goal threat , better finisher and certainly a better dribbler.I will be very happy with him here , not because he is the next Ockucha but he is in my eyes as good as Valencia . Superblue 6,372
When he was at Palace in his teens he interested all of the top teams in England and a number of top teams abroad. Many players are in a similar position but never manage to unlock their potential. Moses decided to move to a much more unfancied team where he was confident of getting games at a much younger age at the highest level and as a result has flourished. Compare this to somebody like Bostock who was also highly rated at Palace, went to Spurs and hasn't developed. This kid is young and hugely talented but also now has a lot of Premier League experience. He will IMO develop into a better player for Chelsea than the likes of SWP and Kalou ever did.People need to realise that if we are going to sign the biggest talents like Hazard and Oscar for a lot of money, then we are also going to have to make some shrewd signings also. This excites me, maybe not as much as the aforementioned but he will have an impact in his Chelsea career.

RhonddaBlue88 14
I do like moses as a player I rate him quite highly has the potential to be a real quality winger in few years time but moving to chelsea right now would just hinder his progress he needs game time and warming the bench is not an option at this point maybe if we agreed a deal for next season or this season and loaned him elsewhere to a side like villa or fulham a club above wigan to use as a stepping stone before stepping into our side! Peace. 4,352
I won't be kiding anyone. I don't know much of him. But from the little I know and from what I have read about him, I understand he has pace, he has directness in his play and has a good physical strength. I don't know whether he will be a very good player, or just good for a squad role. But even if it's the later case, this is a good signing in my honest opinion. He will bring diversity to our squad, and would give us more options. Indeed, we don't have a player with those traits in our set of wingers. Hence, this is a good option on a tactical aspect. Furthermore, he is homegrown and he isn't really expensive. All in all, it's a good signing to my eyes. He surely will be a good squad player, and, if by chance he develops into a very good player, then it will nothing but bonus !P.S. And we also need players who aren't dubbed as the next thing / world-class players.
