Badboy 1,526
I am getting really excited, imagine we get pato and sturridge in both will be 20 years of age in september. Pato's skill pace and ability to finish with sturridge's strength vision pace and brilliant finishing. If we get these 2 in we dont have to worry about our strike force for another 13 years. Mark hughes has said it might not be possible for sturridge to stay at man city and we should launch a 25 million bid for pato. Please kenyon please get these 2 in pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaase. Pato is right footed and sturridge is left footed PERFECT OH PLEASE GET THEM IN PLEASE. Edited June 3, 2009 by Badboy

Both i believe are able to play on the wing as well as the centre forward position.

Sturridge is 6'2 and pato is 5'10 sturridge has a left foot finish pato has a right foot finish. Both have brilliant pace both want to score goals both can play in wide positions sturridge on the left pato on the right. Why would we really want to play 2 young goal scorers in wide postions though.

It just adds to our potency, the wide players have the freedom to cut inside and the 3 to interchange.

It all depends on who else we sign and who goes. I would say that Pato would play certainly more games than Sturridge, but both would get plenty of games and playing time next season i am sure. EskWeston 696
The only thing is franco might be out of the picture. It's possible, but Di Santo is suited to the lead striker role, where Anelka, Pato and Sturridge are less suited, so i would think there is still a place for Franco, it is down to Ancelotti though to give him the playing time. the wes 7,212
Mark Hughes has conceded that he is powerless to prevent striker Daniel Sturridge from leaving Manchester City. The 19-year-old forward has been linked with a move to Chelsea and could quit Eastlands this summer after failing to agree a new deal with the club."We are not in a position to dictate that [sturridge's future] really," Hughes told Sky Sports. "We have offered Daniel a deal that we think is at the level he should be at. "He is in a strong position because he is in the last year of his contract. "He is keeping his options open, which he has done for quite some time, we just have to wait and see. "Obviously I have made my intentions very clear to him I would like him to stay but it may be out of our hands."
EskWeston 696
Chelsea TV said last night that we are in talks with Sturridge so this one looks like it IS going to happen after all. Would be a very nice first signing of the summer i think.

the wes 7,212
Manchester City will seek £10m compensation for Daniel Sturridge if, as expected, the teenager defects to Chelsea when his contract at Eastlands expires at the end of the month. City have resigned themselves to losing the talented 19-year-old striker while another of their young English stars, Joe Hart, is also making plans to join the potential exodus, having verbally agreed a year-long loan to Birmingham City.Hart has opened talks with Birmingham after concluding that his only chance of breaking into England's World Cup squad is to secure regular Premier League football. The 22-year-old, who made his England debut in a friendly against Trinidad & Tobago last June, lost his place at City when Shay Given was signed from Newcastle United in January but would take over from Maik Taylor as Birmingham's first-choice goalkeeper, with a view to a permanent transfer next summer. Sturridge's situation is based more on finance – he turned down the offer of a new £45,000-a-week deal to open negotiations with Chelsea about joining them as a free agent. He would become the best-paid teenager in English football, with a weekly salary around £75,000. However, City are entitled to claim a "development fee" through an FA tribunal because Sturridge is below the age of 24 and the club are determined to get a substantial sum for a player they took from Coventry City's youth academy as a 13-year-old. EskWeston 696
Fortunately it is not up to Man City how much compensation they get. And i am sure it would be no-where near in the region of £10m.....
ChelseaUSA 0
http://www.eatsleepsport.com/Chelsea/blues...oop-913232.html Last Updated: Wed, 17 Jun 2009 12:26 Chelsea are said to be closing in on a double swoop for Manchester City striker Daniel Sturridge and Yuri Zhirkov of CSKA Moscow. Sturridge is available after letting his contract run down at Eastlands and Chelsea are on the verge of wrapping up a deal for the young striker, who will command a fee while he is under the age of 23. Aston Villa were also in the hunt but Chelsea have won the race to sign him and the fee will be set by a tribunal if it cannot be agreed between the two clubs. Meanwhile, Chelsea are also reported to be closing in on a swoop for CSKA winger Zhirkov, who will cost in the region of £15million.
EskWeston 696
Again, Sturridge would be a great signing. And i am suprised that somone who is out of contract has taken so long to get a club lined up. I wonder if there could any particular reason why we would want to be holding out on announcing any signings?
ChelseaUSA 0
yeah i have no idea whats taking him so long...maybe we're waiting for July 1st?
EskWeston 696
yeah i have no idea whats taking him so long...maybe we're waiting for July 1st? For what purpose? Players can't officially sign until then but deals can be done all signed, sealed and delivered! Maybe we want to show off Ancelotti first? Who knows, but there isn't much gap between 1st July (pre season start) and when we fly off to America. Last time we went majority of the signings had already been done and dusted..
