capriccioso 2,545
Is there any institution in our country worse than Ch.9?Apart from their cricket coverage, which is brilliant (mainly because of Benaud ), everything else on that channel is wank. capriccioso 2,545
Gunna stop smoking @capriccioso?http://www.thesun.co...-Australia.htmlNo, and the government here can get fucked. They're overly anti-smoking; or so they claim, they don't care about our health, they just want our money. They don't care when we give them our hard earned money when we buy smokes (taxes on cigarettes in Australia constitute 63% of the total price of a pack, and earned the government $6.5 billion in 2007, the latest year I could find figures for; which accounted for 3% of all government income), but they stop us smoking inside our own vehicles, inside our own homes. They stop us from bringing in duty free cigarettes from overseas, their logic is "If they purchase 250 smokes overseas for just $20, we're missing out on a lot of revenue". We're now limited to a maximum of 50 cigarettes that can be brought into the country. They fool the general non smoking public into thinking they're cracking down on smoking by introducing plain packs- which will achieve fuck all. Cigarettes are not permitted to be openly displayed in any Australian shop, a first time buyer would have no idea of the range of brands available, therefore the aesthetic design of a pack would do very little to influence their decision. Also all it does is make it far easier to counterfeit smokes, if all packs are plain, all you need is some olive green cardboard and a few warning images and you've got yourself an authentic looking pack.A pack of 25 smokes here costs anywhere between 16 and 19 dollars. The same pack in a country that doesn't treat us as a gift that keeps giving, for example, Singapore, costs about $6. That makes it easier for black market tobacco dealers to operate. I've been able to buy 20 packs (of some dodgy Chinese brand, but whatever, tobacco is tobacco) for as little as $5. Smuggled cartons from overseas will set you back about $10. A legitimate carton over here costs about $150. Who's not going to risk buying dangerous/tampered cigarettes from the black market if you get a 94% discount?I'm not going to care if my pack looks like this:Or unbranded. On an unrelated note, I think its time for me to cut my nails, they look pretty big in that picture

We should have been 2-0 up, that would have changed the game entirely. Also this is the worst Socceroo team in 25 years. If we get to Brazil, we'll be a laughing stock. KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
There was a fire in a petrol station at Liverpool. Did you see it @capriccioso
capriccioso 2,545
No, I'm sick and I haven't left the house. I'm guessing its the one on Hume Highway/Copeland Street, thats the closest station that I know about.I heard a truck flipped off the bridge acrosd the Georges River on Milperra Road and onto the train tracks today.Liverpool really is awesome. Its the dystopic impoverished, crime ridden, migrant destination type suburb, stuff of legend really. You half expect George Orwell to pop out and have a lol . capriccioso 2,545
Liverpool, Australia, is pretty much the same as Liverpool, England.....Not really. Its more like Liverpool, England on a much smaller scale. Instead of hubcap thieves we have petty street thugs. There are also next to no Anglo Aussies here either. Its closer to Bradford or Birmingham, I guess. And outside of the suburb, the rest of Liverpool City Council is fairly decent. The suburb of Liverpool just happens to be the largest in the Council, the seat of Council government, and also the most economically productive area in Sydney thats not within a 5km radius of Sydney Council. That makes it a perfect place for all sorts of murky corruption (if you remember, one of the 3 brothels in town is opposite the Federal governments dole service and is next door from the MP for the State governments office )
We Hate Scouse 10,327
It's very much unlike Bradford or Birmingham You'd be lucky to find a brothel in Bradford. Bradford is practically it's own Muslim republic.
