Eden Hazard

If he has a great season he'll go to Real Madrid. It will be such a massive loss, bigger than Pogba's departure from Juventus. I don't feel like we'll be able to replace him because our transfer record is so mediocre plus once every club knows we're getting big money for him they'll jack up prices for our replacement targets. Pogba basically netted Juventus a 29 year old Higuain and Pjanic.

Don't read too much into it. He's simply saying that if he ever leaves he wants it to be on a high note.

Goal.com seems to have conveniently left this part out:

"And if I must leave one day, I hope I can finish good here and be a champion again."

It's insane how his words get twisted on here. Your last sentence is exactly what he said and there is nothing wrong with it.

ED1905: I can’t wait to begin

Quote

Midway through his first week training under Antonio Conte, Eden Hazard has reported on the hard work he anticipates paying off.The Belgian attacker, along with his international colleague Thibaut Courtois, joined up with the squad for the journey out to America following their participation in the Euro 2016 quarter-finals, and since arriving in Los Angeles he has been part of each day’s double training sessions.

‘It is hard training but we have to be ready for the season,’ Hazard notes.‘It is good. The manager talks a lot with the players, we are here to prepare tactically and we have some games to play. I hope we will see after 10 days what we need to have.‘It is completely different from last summer. After the Euros we didn’t get a lot of holiday and we are not ready yet but we are almost ready and we can’t wait for the season to start.  We need to show to everybody that we are Chelsea, we are big players and a big team.’

The 25-year-old returned to form towards the end of the 2015/16 campaign and carried that onto the international stage in France, and he reflects on the disappointing months that preceded it.

‘I played a very bad season last season. I think I was tired, it is easy to say now I was tired but even when I am not at the maximum level I want to play and last season was difficult.‘I got some injuries, not big ones but it is not easy to play with small injuries when you play in England because the games are difficult, but this season I am ready and everybody is.’

In Spain. How many times has he squanded chances in the last year?

Eden struggled to score last season too. He was a lot worse than Pedro in even getting into goal scoring positions. I'm havent really taken much of last season as a season that defined any player's traits or abilities. We saw for Barcelona that Pedro has a good goal scoring instinct. I would say that he actually has a better goal scoring instinct than Eden. That's not a knock on Eden, just that they are different players.

Eden is first and foremost a dribbler, whereas Pedro's strength lie in his off the ball runs, hence why he gets himself in better goal scoring positions to begin with. If Eden could only grasp that aspect of Pedro's game and add it to his own he'd be much more of a threat as a goal scorer.

I personally think Pedro was able to do what he did because he was in that great Barca squad, but I don't see him getting anywhere near those levels here (if he stays). Hazard doesn't have a killer instinct IMO and prefers to slow the game or pass instead of shooting.

He needs to be more ruthless at times to be an even bigger asset.

Haw was his game?

Came on in the 64th minute on the LW. After 10 minutes he was played as a second striker behind Batshuayi.

Thought he did really well there. He scored 2 goals from that position. Also helped out with our build up by dropping off, providing an outlet for our defenders and midfielders while holding onto the ball to allow the rest of the team to get forward.

Already looking sharper then i expected him to be given he's only been in preseason for 4-5 days. So good signs. :P
