Get up to speed. And may now take the chance to post some vs the tonnes, of actual slips vs framed as ones, re Kamala. That camera roll x fake phone call a day ago 😄The accents 😄The teleprompters 😄HER party in power for years - doesn’t do anything with it. 😄Relies on ad hominem vs seasoning with —- 0 political prowess, brain far from in the right place.

Sleepy Joe fans now saying but muh Trump age is why next election will be taken even further less seriously. Dishonest idiots.

Latinos is a weird group definition tbh. I am from Brazil, so technically a Latino but I’m not Hispanic. Hispanic music or jokes sound really weird to me — sure it’s the same for Hispanics regarding Portuguese.

First time I had Mexican food was in the US and I much prefer it to the bland Brazilian food. Honestly in the south it’s mostly just Italian food.

there has been a point made that there are no Latinos; there are no blacks, Asians, there are people with different ideas and whatnot.

evidently we also define democracy differently especially regarding conceding elections.

Which is why I think Democrats need to change their strategy around "POC" completely. You cant treat people as a monolith just on a perceived "non-white" status(especially when one of those groups actually views themselves as white for all intent and purpose). Identity politics by our side in general needs retooling. It simply doesnt work in a country that is pretty right-leaning for the most part.

I do think the media, in general, does a poor job talking to regular people. I was all in for Kamala but even months ago i mentioned that going to the grocery store is a miserable experience. @vesper brought out some statistics and even then that doesnt change how people feel.  The economy just doesnt feel good for people, and even less so for people who arent making well over the regular income. You can only tell folks who feel screwed by the system that one guy is going to destroy it all, and have them not want to for so long.

I will say you are out of touch as a media when a millionaire(billionaire?) reality tv star comes on a panel and seems much more in touch than the other folks talking:

They dont need your votes for primary is true, but surely you dont say that when folks have to come out and vote for you to win? Just makes people seem useless to the process, and she should have had a primary in the end. I remember Kamala in the 2020 primary being generally unrelatable to most people in the country, not very charismatic, and being seen as a DEI hire in an age where DEI is going out of vogue. i think she could have grown into the best politician she could be through that grit and steel of a primary. Not just being handpicked.

In the Blue people would have said, majority vote — the majority of people think xyz —- thus it is right.

Reveal is real-time - who has a sense of direction, and real people, vs the niche of very unique snowflakes. Couldn’t accurately forecast what was on a plate in front of —- no wonder the larger forecasts have been harder to take seriously

🥰
No idea.

If Latinos vote for Trump then the Trump bubble will burst soon.
I mean his supporters if they hate someone it's the Latinos. Not the Arab Bin Laden types like in Europe - because there are few of those.
From time immemorial they hate Latinos.
So Trump voters will be hating some other Trump voters ?
The Hinchcliffe character then attacked the Puerto Ricans who are Americans, kith and kin, not aliens.
Trump is an idiot in all sorts of other things and those who voted for him will regret pretty soon.

Bloody hell agree with that. They used to call them 'wetbacks', 'river crossers' 'taco niggers' 'leaf blowers' all the way back to the 1980s.

Trump says hes a christian and the Hispanic evangelicals fall for the felon and rapist

Also Dems were complacent with the economy concerns of people. They let the criticisms of Biden linked to inflation slide without saying how it is.

They said its a 'Cost of living crisis' etc instead of highlighting its the billionaires putting up prices, in reality a 'Cost of wealth' crisis

It's the same here.
Flour price went up because of the Ukraine war they blamed Mitsotakis or at least his opponents did.
You can blame Mitsotakis for all kinds of things but for the war in Ukraine ?
Anyway all this reminds me of Ted Heath also who was going to "cut prices at a stroke" ...
In real life the only way to control prices is to cut taxes of the producers, transporters, vendors.
In many long years I have observed that taxes are to blame for the price of common goods going up.
Sometime it's the producers, when they think the market situation is favourable for this but mostly it's the taxes.
Have n't you heard the phrase "beat the budget" ?
Turn on a radio, you will hear it every five minutes. You listen to a song and then follows the jingle "beat the budget at the such and such shops".

Right on. Very simple concept: more abundant cheap labor the lower the wages. Not even mentioning homelessness.

works even in IT. Limit the influx of skilled labor and the wages go higher.

On the same token, the republican claims of stealing jobs is laughable nowadays though. I for example can work from anywhere in the world for the same employer—only difference is where my taxes go.

The stealing of jobs is a textbook play of South Park. They use it and rally a bunch of young people that don't have jobs.

Well what @Vesper brought to you about inflation is the honest truth. Inflation has come down from the highs we had about 2 to 3 years ago.

The problem is that the FED and economist measure inflation by excluding food and energy prices, which is why it's called Core CPI. If you was to include those then yes inflation would be way higher.

Second you have the issue of increasing minimum wage. If you increase that everything else will go up, the company will pass the expenses to the consumer. In NY the minimum wage sky rocket and thus prices as well, not a great move to do.

And last housing is frustrating a lot of Americans because the affordability of housing is at historical high. And a lot of that has to do with supply, the government has too many restrictions and if the government incentivizes builder we would have more supply in the market, thus bringing prices down.

Democrats were never going to realistically raise minimum wage though.

Housing is a big one. Millennials are ~40 and now realize they will never have the house, picket fence, and kids their boomer parents had. That American dream, for the most part, is dead.

Need to incentivize the builders.

USA has way too much land. There should not be a housing shortage, that is all government fault. They have too many regulations.

If its anything like the UK situation its Housing Developers building homes that are supposed to be 'affordable' to first time buyers, but are actually high end stock, that remain empty for years, but their profits are subsidised by government. This is used to keep house prices artificially high

On May 30, Trump was convicted in New York of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in order to conceal a $130,000 hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels in the days before the 2016 election, in order to silence her about an alleged sexual encounter one decade earlier.

Judge Juan Merchan has since delayed his sentencing until after the November 5 election but could hand down jail time to Trump – potentially paving the way for an unprecedented situation where the president of the US is running the country from a prison cell.
