Sad isnt it. Fed dehumanising propaganda its not surprising. Years ago was doing some outreach work in London on a really rough estate. There were quite a few working class racist boneheads. Engaging them,  they were jobless, and renting flats and bedsits. Their racism towards Bangladeshis and Pakistanis became understandable. My point being they had limited education and had been told they didnt have a nice house, job etc because  the immigrants had taken them all. They were fed that BS from intelligent people just to shift blame and find scapegoats. The condemnation and fear of 'the other' is a root of so many problems. That fear is usually engendered by rich powerful people with vested interests in division. With israel they ignored the Oslo Peace accord, broke dozens of UN resolutions, and Netanyahu has openly said its in the interests to finance and arm Hamas (2019) to never have a two state situation.

They want to leave in peace I believe it, the problem are the leaders as you mentioned. Any good leader that cares for their people will surrender and ask for them to be giving freedom to leave somewhere else. 

I take this from the movie kingdom of heaven with Orlando bloom 

Was a great movie that shows that war and death in this area has been a thing of the past and will continue in the future. But the leader in this movie which was Orlando bloom negotiate a surender and surrender the city to the invading army. Orlando bloom people was allow to leave the city and relocate somewhere else and give life to his people. 

At this time Hamas must do the same. Surrender and let their people have the possibility to survive somewhere else. Give them a land in Alaska or something like that. But of course that ain't happening because hatred for each other is much more than caring for your own people.

Knowing American politics if this is happening it is the work of the wokes, the neocommunists and the Hamas supporters.
People get scared and vote for the candidate likely to provide them with a more secure environment, even if he is a moron and a right wing monster.
At the same time wokes, neocommunists and Hamas supporters are happy because this will give them the excuse to burn more houses, buildings, cars, theatres.
