this is close to our best lineup (2 players missing), other than a CB (Jesper Nyholm) who is out injured (we may miss him as Granli is a a wee step down) and our star CF (see below)

massive step-up for us

Sebastian Larsson is by far our most well-known player, he is now 34 and still going strong

we do have a really good young GK, Oscar Linnér, who is a giant (2.0m)

our other CB's are decent Karlsson and Mets

Enoch Adu is a good DMF

and our wingers are decent, especially Nabil Bahoui and we have Heradi Rashidi off the bench

our  starting CF's in this game are not the best, but Henok Goitom can sometime come good, his age (34) is staring to catch up to him

biggest blow by far

Tarik Elyounoussi is not on the team , he is by far our best CF and is on yellow card suspension for a game froma SHIT call last week, grrrrrrrr

that really hurts us, Nyholm out too is not my ideal situ

rotten horrid luck drawing Celtic, who never should even be in the EL now, they were upset in the CL

so were we, a heartbreaker at home

but I thought it was better for us as the EL is so weaker, but then we drew the best team (Celtic) in the Champions Path (we won the league last year) qualification rounds, ffs

Ironically, the Main Path (non champions and Cup winners) group is much harder this year

The Allsvenskan season fucks us from getting great players

It runs from late March or early April to the beginning of November due to the harsh Nordic climate

My dream is to have a combined Swedish/Danish/Norwegian Super League of 24 teams (8 from each country), with a normal season and all the teams with a convertible indoor/outdoor stadium like we have

but the money just is not there for all those clubs to have that expensive type of stadium

unless the national governments chipped in, and then you also have to deal with relegation, as a team with a great stadium would go down and the ones coming up would not have one

Although the Belgian league is doing better last years and imo we’re in no way behind Holland anymore (bar Ajax) also over here are still talks of a bene league with 16 teams of both country’s. Probably is also the only way to keep up with the big european leagues..

I don’t even know them 😬

I live an hour away from Antwerp, live more closely (25mins) to Genk.

omg, Antwerpse Handjes are the dog's bollocks

lololol

the biscuit ones too

they symbolise Antigoon, the giant (he terrorised the Scheldt river crossing) whose hands the Roman centurion Silvius Brabo cut off

The statue of the Brabo throwing the severed hand of Antigoon

I have had Antwerpen friends in real life for 10 plus years, from when I went to uni in London and met 3 students from Belgium

loooooved Cafe d'Anvers, legendary dance/techno club there, it just closed this spring after 30 years :(
