Given the amount of Aussies on this forum, and the amount of Victorians in particular, I'm surprised there isn't a thread on our national game!

I don't particularly follow a team, I suppose the teams I most like are Sydney and St.Kilda. For the Saints, in terms of Premiership prospects, things don't look great, while the Swans are getting better by the year but are still a far cry from the 2005 and 2006 teams.

I'm a Hawthorn supporter.

I've never been so confident going into a season thinking we're going to win it. Looked good in preseason and the team are at they're peak. 2008 when we did win it, we we're all still young and weren't expected to win it for another few years.

Buckley is bringing Collingwood down, Geelong are getting old, Carlton had a terrible preseason and don't look like a top 4 team.

I really think we'll win it.

Yes zolayes. Being that i live in Australia and the Football season is just about to start we get hammered on every channel and newspaper. Hate the sport. There is only one code of football that I love.

This is great news, they're introducing goal line technology. If a game as fast paced as Aussie rules can introduce that it makes you wonder why the clowns at FIFA haven't gotten around to it.

Hawthorn have the most talented forward in the league, Lance 'Buddy' Franklin. But he's inconsistent and has discipline problems, you can almost guarantee he'll be suspended for a game this season. It depends on how he starts the season, if he starts it brilliantly there's every chance he can do what he did in 2008 and break the 100 goal barrier, if he starts poorly I think he'll be erratic and only finish with 60-70. I suppose a comparison to football would be Drogba; he can be a giant some games and even continue that throughout the whole season but he's not the type of guy that will dig himself out of a tough situation.
