I would like to know people's thought about having Rangers and Celtic in the BPL?

As a spectator I would love to have these two teams in the league as it will add more competition, but there are a lot of components that makes it hard to do.

It would devastate Scottish football, and take a 120 million pound slice out of Scotland's economy. Not only that, they are at best relegation battlers when compared with Premiership clubs. It would be mutually un-beneficial.

Shouldn't happen because if it does, it will just kill Scottish football and tbh in recent years the 2 old firm teams haven't been as good as they were in the late 90's mid 00's so there's no point now.

I do believe though that the Carling Cup should be scrapped for a British cup involving all teams from the prem, Scottish prem and maybe the welsh n Irish too. Why not?

Celtic have still got it in Europe though, although most of that is probably the Parkhead factor. Incredible stadium.

Would be incredible for English football thought really bring a new dynamic to the league.Id like to Cardiff , Swansea , Celtic and Rangers in the league.

Yeah I was going to say that Swansea has done good in the PL.

Hopefully soon to follow Cardiff as you stated.

But I agree with Celtic and Rangers being big clubs that will kill the Scottish league as to compare to a Swansea.

Really and how do you come up with that assessment?

I think they can easily do better then Wolves, Wigan, Blackburn and such.

The real problem as some people mention is that it will kill the Scottish game....but then again the Scottish game is already dead, because apart from these two I don't think there is life!

Celtic and Ranger are big clubs with lots of tradition, something some EPL clubs will get scared of. But they need to grow, and they can't do it in such a mediocre league.

I don't think Scotland can afford that 120 million hit, thats nearly 1% of their economy wiped.

As much as I would like it to happen doubt it would happen but agree with someone above on a British cup. Hopefully Rangers can come down to the Bridge for a friendly some time soon.

Very few. Celtic may crack it after two or three seasons, Rangers would take the best part of a decade, and the others may never get there at all.

But agree with most, we'd cripple Scotland's economy if we took away the old firm.

I haven't been keeping up with the EuroZone crisis lately, how are Scotland going? A purely academical question though, no country can afford a 1% hit to their economy, least of all at times like these.

Out of curiosity, how many of you support Rangers or Celtic? I'm a Celtic fan myself. I know many Chelsea fans prefer Rangers because of that historical connection, but I just want to know how far away I am from the norm.

pretty much every UK fan ive ever met / those who go to games prefer Rangers. No brit in their right mind can like Celtic after what the IRA did in England.
