magic weeds 446
Maybe Berahino, but he is not really an out and out striker but plays more off another striker. If the other three are England NT regulars, England is screwed! TBH, England has been screwed for a long time. When you have the likes of Carrol, Crouch as your main strikers . The last deadly stiker was Owen IMO. The only Striker England can count on is Rooney, albeit he doesnt even play the CF.BOT.....

magic weeds 446
Sturridge and Kane are more than fine.Well, I havent seen much of Kane for England. Sturridge maybe. But time will tell. I also used to think Defoe was the answer ...
lionsden 4,689
Sturridge and Kane are more than fine. The english snobbery on here is quite bizzare. Countries like brazil, italy, belgium et al will kill to have strikers of that quality on their roster because I sure as hell ain't taking lukaku, benteke, origi, fred, balotell and other talent those countries have to offer in attack over those two and rooney. It's fashionable to paint all english talent and players with the same "overrated" brush but that phenomenon stopped being funny a long time ago. CHOULO19 24,332
Sturridge! I knew I was forgetting someone. And at least wait another season before you put Kane ahead of the likes of Benteke, Lukaku (who I don't particularly rate that highly), Rossi...etc. Imagine how silly it looks in retrospective to have said similarly about the likes of Kevin Phillips, Andy Johnson or James Beattie...etc.LOL Remember Benni McCarthy's wonder season? Jase 43,479
On playing for Chelsea...http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/wally-meets-patrick-bamford-championship-5579502“I have to be patient,” he said. “But if I want to be the main striker at Chelsea, I need the chance to push people like Drogba and Remy, and to see what I can learn off them.“There’s a massive difference between being on the bench at Chelsea and playing every week in a league fighting for people’s livelihoods and helping pay mortgages. I’d advise most youngsters to play every week if they can.”...“I know there are a lot of cameras around wherever Chelsea go – don’t worry, I don’t do anything you wouldn’t want the cameras to see.“It’s more about standing your ground and coping with the physical demands of playing at a higher level.“The tempo in the under-21 development league is a lot slower, it is very technical and there’s none of that ‘nastiness’ you need. That’s something you have to learn from playing every week in a competitive league.”“I don’t really speak to Jose during the season, but that’s probably for the best because it means I can focus on what I’m doing at Middlesbrough,” said Bamford.“But Aitor always tells me when he’s been speaking to Jose. He doesn’t tell me what was said, he just smiles and says, ‘I’ve been talking to your boss today...’“Fingers crossed, I might be the man who saves Jose from spending £30 million on a new striker, but hopefully I will be playing in the Premier League next season one way or another. Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067
Have to say, i love the media attention he's getting. Because if he slowly becomes a media darling then it'll be that much harder for us to sell him because of the attention he's already getting. There are lots of commercial & prideful benefits to having young talented Englishmen, just like Kane & Sterling, and hopefully Bamford becomes that. (i'm not expecting 30 goals a season like Kane, but very good showings and growth as a player.)He may not play for us next year, but at least the media praise will make us give him a legitimate chance at the club, provided he continues to kill it on his next loan. Love that "saving Jose Mourinho from another 30 million striker" line. But I must say it's sad i have to think like this in order for me to believe any youth player will be given a shot. Blue Gino 377
With Drogba's career winding down and Costa's shaky hamstring there's a great chance for Bamford to fight for a spot next season. Ah who am I kidding, Chelsea will sign Mauro Icardi instead for that "30 million"

The Mak 4,459
Just thinking after hearing Costa might not play again this season, we need a striker who is reliable and who is always fit and I do not think it is Remy (who I really like). It seems like whenever Costa is injured, he is injured also and we have to rely on a very aged Drogba.I think if we get an offer for Remy it should be seriously considered and put Bamford as our number 2. Hell, I would give Didier an extra year if it meant Bamford would be ahead of him. The boy was born to put the ball in the net and he's fit as a fiddle. Not to mention his fantastic attitude and the fact he can even play wide if push comes to shove. If he can't break into this Chelsea team, let's face it, neither will Solanke, Brown or any other future Chelsea prospects for that matter. It's about time we showed a little faith, especially to those who have proven themselves time and time again, at whatever level they've been put at. I said the same in the Summer Window thread. Take the risk. It could backfire, yes, but it could also turn out wonderfully. He's young, there is no telling how he'll adapt to playing at this level. A bit of trust can go a long way.If he turned out to be completely inadequate, the Jan transfer window offers the opportunity to buy a replacement.Diego's condition does play a role though, and this kind of information is unknown to us. If his condition means there's always a good possibility of a lengthy time out on the sidelines, and Mourinho simply doesn't rate Bamford, then I don't think he has a chance. Special Juan 28,141
Oh yeah? Anything more on his CFC future next season? Nah didn't say anything mate. I think he was more 'rested' than injured though, as Boro were already confirmed in the play offs and the Brighton game was a dead rubber. The Mak 4,459
'But I know what the plan is for me. Chelsea think most players won’t be mature enough to play in the first team until they are 22 or 23. Hopefully it still hold true and we're waiting for him at least, just like Courtois! He should seriously consider staying a year. I think it's safe to say Costa can't handle a 50 game season. So if Diego plays 30-35 games, there should be 10-15 starts (possibly more) up for grabs. Let's say Remy stays. If he thinks he has any chance of playing for Chelsea, he will have to prove he's better than Remy and claim that 2nd choice spot. It could be quite the experience for him. He's been out on loan ever since he signed, building up a good rep. Not playing every game for a year won't hurt him (unless Mou doesn't want him). He could decide to leave after one season if it doesn't work out. But he could also be the type that can not stand the bench, and that's fair. But I hope he stays.
