warnie_666 1,081
He does seem to have a hammer of a right foot.In 5 years I would love to see Debruyn, Lukaku and sturridge upfront with mcechran, mikel/Ramirez and Kakuta in midfield and bertand/PVA, Luiz, Chalobah, A young RB, and thibault cortouisThat's a young team captained by Luiz and has sexy football written all over it
Kieran. 6,317
4-6 weeks? That's so much better than what was feared.
lionsden 4,689
I still can't understand why we haven't made this kid our top priority. AVB has used the pre-season to assess the squad and after the assessment, if he still can't recognize what everyone, from pundits to neutral fans consider the main weakness in this team which is the lack of width/quality wingers then I don't know what to say. Sheva. 5,373
On another note, doesn't Piazon play there?Every time i've seen him play, he was on the left wing.
ZanSnake 1,211
Surely with the injury it means he couldn't pass any medicals if we do get a deal? Or does it?I remember Villa signing Downing when he was injured when he was at Boro, surely we could do the same? And if not, i guess we could wait for the January window that is if we are actually chasing for him, or is apart of our plans. lionsden 4,689
On another note, doesn't Piazon play there?Every time i've seen him play, he was on the left wing. From what I have seen of Piazon, he's far from De Bryune's level. I have no doubt he would improve with time but he's not ready to play first team football for us.

The hard cold truth as justin already pointed out is that AVB/Gourlay are not too keen/sold on the Belgian wonderkid which may explain why he's fallen off our radar in recent weeks. If we dedicated just a quarter of the energy and time been expended on Modric on him don't you think he would have been wearing that blue jersey by now? We have manger with similar background, he is great even if bitter pundits say he is going to leave before the end of this year.
Joker10 946
On another note, doesn't Piazon play there?Every time i've seen him play, he was on the left wing. You must have seen him during the U17 world cup, he is more of a second striker then a winger. The reason why he was playing out of position was to ensure that Adryan and Piazon were on the pitch. Piazon is intesting prospect, i think he will play in midfield once he comes to europe. But atm he doesn't have a position. His playing style is kinda similar to McEachran, they play different positions but their game is kinda similar. Hamilton 2,120
It turned indeed quiet around De Bruyne and Chelsea. Last transfer rumour i read was that Roma were scouting him end of july.4 - 6 weeks isn't that bad, first was feared for half season or worse.. Still sad he isn't playing against Maccabi Haifa.. But he basically said, there's still a pretty good chance of him signing for Chelsea. But if signed, he'll most likely stay at Genk for one more year.Good news. lionsden 4,689
This deal should have been done a long time ago. And why are contemplating on loaning him out to genk for another year. that's just stupid and illogical. I relish the day common sense would be put to greater use at the club.
