LDN Blue 7,903
While I commend your effort here..I do have to give you the sad reality check that, all those stars you named, were in their prime when they missed. If this was Liverpool-Torres, we'd laugh and forget quite quickly. Not that he didn't play well... But just saying. When (or if..) he finds form, most will forget this, and laugh at it. dodojojo 510
I'm laughing about it already.Luckily I live in the US and don't have the English media shoving it down my throat and I try my best to not read the stuff online. It was a terrible miss. Shit happens. I'm going to be cautiously optimistic that Torres' trendline is on a positive slope. I didn't go overboard after his BL game and just thought he had a decent game which was made good with 2 assists. He only had a goal today but was in such threatening form. It's the first Chelsea game where I thought he was actually menacing. So I won't go overboard now, but I hope he carries on his improvement.I actually don't think the miss was as confidence sapping as the media is painting it. I think they WISH it was but the reality is Torres will feel awful about the miss but optimistic about his overall game. He's a striker and though he may be quiet, he's likely got a striker's ego too. He must feel confident now about his game AND that for the first time in 8 months, his teammates are recognizing and rewarding his runs. That's all he can ask for. He got two golden passes today. One he stuffed and the other he fluffed. He also made a couple of chances for himself. How can you even lose confidence with that miss anyway? He would make that 99 times out of 100 blindfolded. It was just a freak miss. It's nothing to do with confidence. I would be more concerned with the other two misses he had to be frank. Tortilla9 390
The highs and lows of an athlete. One minute you're great, another you're dog sh*t. When Rooney and Torres exchanged words at the end of the match, Rooney probably said "thanks, mate, now they'll forget all about me and my stupid hair". Tortilla9 390
@WayneRooney on twitter:Great win against a good team in Chelsea today. Just seen my pen back and only now we have won I can laugh. But seriously happy with win
xjdd 11
Ahahha, Rooney silpped just like JT did in 2008, but he'll pay more in the future.Chinese people believe in RenPin, which can be accumulate by missing chances and giving shit form, and you will lose RP when wining bigmatch by luck . So I seriously consider Rooney is paying for his RP in CL Final, and ManU is losing their RP for their big-wins. XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDIt's all joking.Let's see what happens next. I am looking forward to Torres in next game, and also the Carling Cup in the mid-week which could be a game for our hot-prospects
francozola 2,040
I actually don't think the miss was as confidence sapping as the media is painting it.Exactly!!!! I was thinking the same thing. The presenters here were going crazy, analysing every single detail about that chance and commenting that "he's back to square one" and all that rubbish! If that was Ramires again or something there's no way they would have made such a meal of it. He will take a lot of heart from yesterday's performance and AVB will continute to motivate him. EskWeston 696
The press are a useless pile of s**t. Not one match report has gone in to analyse the attacking play of both teams and the fact that it was one of the most entertaining games between any of the top teams for years. Instead they focus on obvious bits of negative Torres miss, Rooney Miss, Coles tackle ect.... worse than bloody Heat magazine.
