From what little material I've been exposed to they're not quite there yet. If they're the group representing the mainstream racists I'd say you're much better than what I've seen here or in other Eastern European countries.

Agreed. But they're following those lines. Some of thing thing I've heard from EDL/BNP supporters would sicken you to your core.

Thankfully, in this country, they're a very small minority.

The comments on that video are sickening.

First off all, the driver should not have been there. The EDL strike up negative feelings of hostility as it is, and she's become a victim of this minority who are clearly setting a wrong example of how to deal with ignorance.

Not that I feel much sorry for her, she is a supporter of the EDL. Just a shame now it's the Muslims who are solely persecuted again

I am sorry but Beating up a Woman no matter who she is or who she supports is an utterly disgusting act. And people who support the act are not any different than the ones who commit it.

Okay I may have spoken out of tongue.

Although for me, and this may sound cold, blunt and perhaps sadistic, if she's going to protest anti-Islamic views then she should be aware of the consequences. My sympathy to her is no different if she was male. I'd be sad about violence, but not for the person.

Nah, I'm actually interested in what you feel.

Don't worry, this won't get heated or anything.. I'm just curious.

ok Ive got mixed race cousins who i love every bit as much as if they were white , and my parents plus entire family are very liberal , so i promise you this isn't about race . To summerise ( very quickly ) Even though im left wing on other things such as the Environment or the N.H.S for example , i feel that immigration is to high . on a individual basis i could never turn a individual or family away if it meant they could have a better life here but it is getting out of hand , and our culture is slowly slipping away . ive been a Christian since a child and it feels that my faith is being slowly marginalized . im from a town of no more than 30,000 people ( 96 % White British ) but when i go into the nearby areas of Manchester or Stockport ( where i go to college ) i just feel certain ares dont feel like England . I know its a floor in my self and a tolerant person is a good person , i just dont like to be outnumbered . i know it sounds stupid but i reckon a lot of people agree . i welcome all cultures into the U.K and enjoy experiencing every one just not at the expense of our own .

Okay, thanks for explaining.

I agree, that immigration is an issue that's affecting Britain. Studying economics, I know on a macro level that is an issue. Especially with cheap labour and big firms even outsourcing now. And I can understand your personal views.

It's clear (not trying to be disrespectful) that you are of a traditional background. I know you said it's not about race, and I do believe you, but I'm sure you feel outnumbered because you see a lot of non-white faces in areas like Manchester and Stockport. But I think this is a new generation of Britain, and we are still British, just not white. And yes the culture of Asian and African countries have developed here, but I like it.

I'm someone who embraces new cultures. I don't like to see nations that are so centralised in one culture. Because I think this separates people and that's why you have the rise of groups like BNP and EDL. Because they don't understand that other cultures are not good, they see them in too much of a negative view.

Someone should tell the EDL fanatics that had their Britain not invaded and looted the Subcontinent, thereby depriving the people of subcontinent of their wealth, these people wouldnt have bothered coming to Britain for a better living.

Give us our wealth back, and we will go back to our countries

Are you a muslim btw?

Good post . it inspires me like you say when people of other cultures can combine their own with ours and be proud of both :D

I'm of an Indian background. I was supposed to be Hindu. I have chosen to be Atheist though, and I have been for the last 5-7 years. Never looked back!

Good to hear mate.

The problem with people who are of a traditional view is they don't want to understand the new culture and at the same time, the new cultures fail to respect the traditions of Britain. Since there's never been a real effort to get both to communicate, these groups have risen up.

Riots didn't help this either..

You know what i do not understand Dave ? Why do some new generation British people have this entitlement mentality. The new generation of British people seem to have a certain pride that makes them turn work down or just not give 100% when they are working. This is the conclusion i have made after hearing what my mother has had to say in the past she is an employer by the way. If you want things in life you have to work hard or you will not get anything and it seems that a lot of white working class males have given up on life already in this country.

LDN i am sorry to say this but eastern Europeans are just harder workers full stop. Eastern Europeans get on with work while many British workers will spend 30 minutes arguing with you over why they arrived late. Many employers in the UK have come to that conclusion and sadly its true, if you want to run a business were time and effort is everything then you have to go with the hard workers who don't talk about snorting coke on a Friday night.

I had a chat with a guy i used to know from my old high skool. was a nice bloke but the thing which saddened me is that he had 5 exams and failed 4 of them and yet to him he throught it were cool. was pretty saddening to see a nice bloke like himself really honestly not give a total shit bout his future. seriously if theres any children that have stolen their parents computer that seem to be reading this for some reason....get yourself a good education but dont get it by ass kissing cause thats becoming a problem also will fuck ya up hard when there becomes no ass to kiss

sorry for off topicing guys xD i just have urges to mention

I agree. I didn't want to say it in such a way that would offend but you're completely right.

They do the jobs that British people sometimes feel they're too high class for anyway! And they work harder and for cheaper because they know what it's like coming from rough. I work with a Polish guy who is so grateful for the job he has and never takes it for granted & I've never seen a British person ask for that job either.

True post.

A lot of people take their education for granted and don't realise that's what will get the jobs in the future. Again, some members of BNP and EDL are quite illiterate and blame other faiths because they realised they've failed to give 2 sh*ts about their own future.

EDL essentially an MI5 put-up job- It makes shit-eating Cameron look good if there are big clashes between ‘extremists of left and right’- strenghtening the states hand, (and reinforce the cops anti-cuts campaign), which is the purpose of the EDL…

Remember that any trouble in Central London is intensively monitored by CCTV systems- (As we’ve seen with the highest arrest rate in London post-riots, CCTV’s impact on crime is negligible- it is, as it always was, a tool for social control and political surveillance.....

Tell me bout it. Now look what they are lowered to. just pure hatred is well...maybe for one or two getting their asses up of their seats. sad to think these buggers are going out promoting fascism. yet they can easily go out turn their lives around do good for themselfs and well their "beloved" country or even use the time to make a plan in their mind or even make a plan to make a plan in their mind. to turn it around. quite a sad story if you look at it

heh i keep looking at your sig LDN. seems to be making sense now in this convo for some reason

also they some just look like when faced with responsibilitys they blew it. i always say responsibility is not this Scary ass fucking Bullshit that i noticed some skools/parentals make it out to be . if your of good mind and know what to do extra responsibility is a good and fun thing.

srry if i seem to be shoving down throat again and off topicing xD

FB. can say yeah bout cameron. just hopefully the public realise what a complete cunt and piece of shit he really is....not just him his cronies as well. just hope so....

As a previous supporter of the EDL I feel I should steer well clear of this thread, but I just want to say essentially why I supported the EDL and why I stopped.

I first started going to EDL in the very beginning after hearing about them through a friend. I researched about them and spoke to a lot of the members and realised I agreed with a lot of what they were saying.

They were a group that was solely against Muslim extremists, that in fact welcomed Muslims and believe it or not in the early days there were Muslims that went to a few of the marches. Unfortunately a group of this nature was always going to fail. It was very poorly organised and the leaders were ex-hooligans which attracted younger ''hooligans''.

As time went by and the group got more and more publicity you started to notice changes in the sort of people coming. The group started with people that wanted to fight for a cause, to people without a cause turning up. It turned into a day out for these obvious racists so they can run around in the streets causing trouble, with a Stella in hand, poxy EDL jumper on and sing there vile, racist songs.

I'm not going to pretend I'm not right wing, because I am and I feel I will always have right wing values. When I say right wing, a lot of you are probably sat there thinking what a racist scum bag. To clear that up I'd like to say I don't have a problem with any race, nor religion and I am actually for (a more controlled form of) immigration.

:goodpost: its gone from the EDL saying " we are against islamic extremism " to " we are against the ideology of islam " . which is completely wrong in my opinion .

Thanks for the info WHS.

It's good to know they once actually stood for something and embraced (or should I say, not generalising,) other Muslims who didn't support such ideas. I'm glad you got out of it too, and there is nothing wrong with having right-wing views as long as you respect other cultures, which indeed you do.
