I must admit that I was initially disappointed with the Meireles purchase but I've come around. He is a good player but wasn't the type of player that we needed. Seeing Diego go on loan for the season (Wolfsburg to A. Madrid) last night was so annoying. He was the kind of player that the club needed and the side still lacks invention.

The Mourinho side of 04/05 didn't really have that much invention, Tiago was not that much more creative than Ramires, Meireles or McEachran. We relied on wing brilliance, and Mata and Sturridge can supply that.

why is no one talking about the players OUT situation that everyone felt was required? Anelkalouda to be precise. We couldve kept malouda maybe but the otherr two shouldve gone.... if our style of play has to change, the squad has to change as well right?

I know new additions will allow certain changes but why on earth do we keep Kalou? He sucks Balls. And anelka can pass the ball but slows the game horribly, malouda is mr solo. Like Nani. I will never be able to be fond of Malouda just like a united fan can never like Nani.

I still cant see the logic in let Yossi go when we didnt bring someone creative like Modric, still cant see the logic in loaning

him instead of selling him, but its over now, and its not AWFUL like i said yesterday. Its a stupid stupid move by our club,

but its not a crucial mistake. We could have use the creativity and spark he can bring to the pitch, but we do have a very

good midfield, not as creative as we wanted, but a very good midfield and with a lot of options- Meireles, Ramires, Lampard,

Mikel, Romeo, Essien, Josh....

If AVB is a good manager, it can be good enough for challenging for titles. Lets see how he would work this out.

I've never seen Oriol play, but i've heard he's like a deep lying playmaker, is it true for anyone who has seen him he offers creativity?, if so then maybe we can get something out of him this season, i think he will play quite a lot this season since AVB likes him and Barca will only get him back in two years (or is it more?), so may aswell get the most of him. I also think if we play McEachran, it could be something quite special, every run by Torres will be responded, could be interesting, just thought i'd look at the positives.

Good player, but the simple fact is that we just do not need him. This has left me baffled. Why, oh why have we swapped Benayoun for Meireles? Will Lampard be dropped for Raul? No. It will probably be Ramires who makes way - which is a damn shame. I wouldn't have minded him if we had a creative midfielder signed up as well. He'll do a good job whenever he plays, I have no doubt about that. But we should have tried for someone else.

What I meant was we needed a creative player more than Meireles. Now that we have him, okay, good. I did say he's a good player. And for the price, it's decent. But if you told me six weeks ago that we would only sign him as a midfielder then I would be disappointed. Wouldn't you?

I do agree that we need a much more creative player compare to Meireles, if AVB think that Meireles is a plan B creative talent after modric,i believe that he has some plan. Every player was bought for a purpose, i don't think AVB is stupid to buy someone that we don't need.

I heard someone on CTV say that he is an apple that fell away from the creative-player-tree (Barcelona). He plays more of the solid DM role rather than create something from the deep. I am looking forward to an appearance from this lad. Maybe Carling Cup against Fulham might be the day..

And Josh is someone who has awesome vision, from what I have seen of him. He is always looking for a vertical pass, not the tiring horizontal play that CFC has played over the past one year..Excited about him. Go AVB. Hone these young talents and u will remain a legendary manager of CFC.

There are only a few negatives that I am disappointed with this summers transfer dealings & the first is that we didn't sign the attacking midfielder that I believe will take us up to the next level, there were 2 available that are imho the finished article - Aguero & Sniejder. Unfortunately Aguero was snared by City & that left Sniejder, were I still can't get my head round us going in for Modric instead of a player that CAN/WILL link up our play offensively, score goals & provide the vital assists for our starved front players. Lastly I still think its a mistake letting Courtois go out on loan, Hilario & Turnbull are not good enough to replace Cech.

The obvious in letting Benayoun go out on loan - don't need to explain that!

Now by contrast look at the pro's,

- 4 young players signed.

- MacEachran & Bertrand signed up for another 5 years.

- Add Piazon to those above & we are on the right road - finally.

- Whilst I would of preferred Kakuta to stay the young players can only benefit from getting game time & experience elsewhere so blessing in disguise for me.

- Mata looks the real deal, quality!

- I am open minded about Meireles as I would of been with Modric as I not too sure how they will improve our play, but I will put my trust in AVB on this one.

Lastly fans/members need to remember where we were & think to those dark days compared to the luxury we are in now before firing all the negative bollocks that keeps rearing its ugly head! There are obvious disappointments but I would rather us go through a transitional period were we integrate young players into the team & watch some exciting attacking football than have to go through watching & paying for the dross I watched last season.

I'm glad we didn't get ripped off by Spurs and pay over the odds for Modric, we've signed a decent player in Meireles, he can give Lamps a bit of competition and hopefully Lamps can find his form again, I feel that Josh will feature quite a bit this season. Lets judge the signings by what they do on the pitch and what they achieve for us this season as Chelsea players. I still feel this could be a good season for us.
