Lampard's England career 'is over': Wilshere is now Capello's main man!

Frank Lampard's career as a first-choice England midfielder is finally over.

The 33-year-old Chelsea star, capped 86 times, will still be called into the squad for England's friendly against Holland on August 10.

Yet the Mail on Sunday understands that only injuries to Jack Wilshere or Scott Parker would allow Lampard into England's starting line-up again.

Good for Chelsea, not for England. Shame only people with real appreciation of football can recognise that fact.

In regards to Wilshere he is a talent - but like Gerrard has been by Lampard, he will be completely overshadowed in his career achievements by McEachran.

He's got to stay for a bit longer because his experience on the pitch is vital. He was good in the Asia Cup with his vision and simple things he does so well to control the game. He can't do a lot of what he did 3 years ago but just like Scholes, his experience is huge, even as a squad player. His time is almost up and lots of games seem to be passing him by now but he's had a sensational Chelsea career and has made a great impact in Chelsea's history

Frank Lampard, Chelsea Legend.
