I think its wrong when people suggest German is difficult to learn . The grammar is straightforward with few exceptions ,,most verbs

are regular and pronunciation simple. In terms of Science and Engineering it probably ranks second in importance after English

I agree with you.

Oh really ? Kanjis are Mandarin characters , of course they are hard to read ! so learning Japanese is not difficult for Chinese people haha, our culture are so deeply related.

Hiragana and Katakana are real alphabets, Romaji is a method to present kana in western language I think, so we could type Japanese on standard keyboards.

そうじゃないか something like this XD

Romaji is just Japanese presented in the Latin alphabet, so I suppose you are right but it is still a real alphabet.

Is Kanji exactly the same as Mandarin?

English(British and North American), French, and extremely little greek. Next summer im doing an internship and was going to take a language course at night at my university, but the question is which one?

I am thinking its between spanish or german. German is hard from what I hear, and spanish is similar to french but I hate speaking french and german just seems so cool to learn and since im in enginnering I figure the germans wouldn't be a bad group of people to associate with.

Any suggestions?

Can you explain why you don't like to speak French ? Too difficult because of the exceptions ? :P

If you speak English, German may not be any difficult because it's very near, they are Anglo-Saxon tongues

Essaie le FM en francais ! Au fait , je voudrais acheter/telecharger le FM en francais , ca sera bien pour mes etude de francais XDDD ( Pardon je ne sais pas l'article devant du mot FM, <le> Football Manager ? XD )

btw, I want to know some tactical/technical words in French too

I'm learning French, and I'm going to France for my future studies.

I speak English of course, because I was planning about going to study in the UK, but it's too expensive for a Chinese student. Not fluent, but neither my Chinese is XDDDDDDDDDDDD

So Chinese (a.k.a Mandarin), mother tongue.

And I'm good at Japanese, especially in listenining ,I also speak a little , but cannot write in Japanese because I know nothing about it's writing grammar.

I send you a MP

I know a lot of tactical words in French but my main problem is that I don't know their equivalents in English

Ah yes, I got you.

Well, not really , most of them looks very similar to Mandarin ,especially traditional Chinese charactors, but they are read different totaly. (most of time) exp: Force in Japanese, Kanji: 力 in Mandarin : 力 is the same , but in Japanese 力 could be "ChiKaRa"ちから or "Ryoku" りょく ,in Mandarin it's "Li" , pronounciation resemble to "Lee"

so..you see..

:) Thanks. I'm good at chatting online because I can lookup words at the same time I reply XDDDDDDDDDD

After all, if I cannot speak good French , I cannot pursue my goal , so , I studied hard :)

Oh... Rhone-Alps ? Sorry, I'm afraid not , I'm going to Versailles ( Damn that agance , they always give expensive choice ) for intensive French study, and maybe Orleans to study design.

AND I have to say, Chineses are EVERYWHERE in the world XDDDD We have toooooo many people.

A city of 1M people in China might be called a small town, so we have difference in definition of the word "MANY".

May I guess , you mean there are about 50-100 Chinese students there ?

Ahah, I know you are everywhere lol !

No, I think there's a lot more than 100. I did never count, but when I go on the campus, I am always impressed by the number of chinese people !

Of course, there is certainly more chineses at Paris than at Grenoble, because it ins't that big, but proportionally (number of asian student / total amount of student) , I think Grenoble is one of the city which hosts the more of asian student.

edit : by the way, I don't recall where i heard that, but I think Grenoble is renowned to be a good city to host foreign student.

Its a complicated answer, hate maybe isn't a good choice of word, but dislike would be better. For one I speak decent french but im not 100 percent fluent so at times it feels like a chore more than something natural. I live in a part of canada which is 90 percent french. The even bigger reason is you have to understand Quebec culture. Most of the french speaking people in Quebec absolutely hate the english(or up till recently) with a passion. They tried to separate but failed. There are alot of reasons why they dislike the english, but mostly cause english were 10 percent of population and 90 percent of wealth, (it was one of these class imbalance situations). As a result every time I speak french they can tell I have an english accent and im treated like a second class citizen, and I get totally disrespected by the french speaking people to many times for my liking(I can provide examples if you wish, my god I can give you 100). I absolutely hate living in this part of Canada for that reason. Can not go anywhere without feeling like an alien, this is why I dream of a move to london( I actually tear up when I think I could live in london one day). I have exaggerated a bit but not by much. However its changing a bit now, most of the young generation in quebec are open to being part of canada and speak english decently, but its just the nature of how french was forced upon me and how there have been moments where I feel like im on disastor vacation and want to go home. To sum up its the enviroment in which I have to speak french in that I dont like, not the langauge itself. If you were to tell me you have a job for me in france, I would be very open to a move.

I can explain in alot further detail if you are interested.

I remember visit Quebec frequently before and during the separatist movement. It is odd because they would gladly speak English to Americans because they wanted our money, but did not want us to pay in Canadian dollars. They would also ask us what we thought about the movement, which to be honest I didn't because I am not Canadian.
