  1. YESS!! We rock Our finishing can be better, but still - top of the league, 4 out of 6 away matches with top teams (or can they be considered top now? ) out of the way with 8 points out of 12, and beating Liverpool feels so sweet Azpi's run for the second goal was out of this world.
  2. Was about time for Hazard to miss a pen for once, glad it happened in a fairly irrelevant game. We were not great, but Costa's goal should have been allowed. Anyway, Sporting was of a great help today So we need 1 point from Germany to secure play-off place, and a win gets us the first place, Is my math right?
  3. It didn't prevent MU from spending the last 15 minutes in attack despite being one man down. And two weeks ago this same strategy made Pellegrini lose 2-0 lead against CSKA which may very well cost them a place in CL play-off in the end. So - there's no ideal way.
  4. I will be much more relaxed if City somehow drops points tomorrow. On paper we should beat MU no matter who is starting as our striker, but it's a potential banana skin game so I'm not feeling as confident as I probably should be.
  5. Looked it up too and it's still not on. But while searching I've found this http://www.marca.com/en/2014/09/11/en/football/international_football/1410461299.html Has anyone read it? Sounds amusing...
  6. My nerves can't take it. I want us to win so badly... And judging by twitter comments there was another scuffle at the benches right before the halftime. Is Wenger mad or what?
  7. That's what scares me to be honest. Too much factors pointing at our win, and an easy one at that - it's almost like a build-up to a big disappointment. I hope I'm just panicking and we won't have problems tomorrow, but I won't be surprised at any result.
  8. I voted Matic but Patricio is MOTM period. Sort of bizzare game, really, I don't even want to analize it - 2nd part was a complete chaos. Could have been 1-1, couls (should) have been 5-0, could have been whatever. So I'm taking this result and I hope we will be more organized next matches. Waste of so many chances, but Patricio had an absolute blinder, so kudos to him. Good result in the Schalke match, we're top of the table, life is good, YAY!
  9. You go off some assumptions and some of them do not make sense. Let's see. Fact 1 - Lampard says he wasn't offered a contract, Mourinho says he was. Word against word, someone is lying, we can't know who is or if both are lying/telling truth from their point of view.. Fact 2 - Lampard is quoted saying he won't be playing for another PL club. Fact 3 - of all MLS clubs Lampard chose to sign with a club that is affilated with Manchester City. Fact 4 - Lampard is either completely stupid or he knew that this club won't start playing before Jan/Feb 2015, therefore if he wants to keep himself in condition he will have to go on loan. Fact 5 - Lampard chose to go on loan to ManCity (or, as some assume, he was forced into it by contract obligations - but it's a contract he signed by his own will). Fact 6 - "playing high level football to keep fit for National Team" was cited as main excuse of moving back to PL. Fact 7 - Lampard is unlikely to play much in the National Team, especially being a bench warmer for MC. And now we can have a situation where he stays at ManCity when the club he signed for goes into pre-season, if rumor about extending his loan becomes reality. From my point of view it all looks like a bunch of cheap excuses. If Lampard came out and said "ok, Chelsea didn't want me anymore, so I'm continuing my PL career elsewhere, thanks for all and good luck" it would have been more acceptable than this "poor Frankie, he is so stupid he got manipulated into playing for Chelsea's title rival and it makes him so sad" we are hearing. It's all his choices, however you try to get around it. He could have moved to another MLS club, he could have not gone on loan to City, he could have negotiated not playing against us. But most important - he could have come and explain how he ended up being a City player a week after promissing he won't be playing for any PL club other than Chelsea, and do it without "i didn't know, I didn't think, I didn't want" routine. If he did only the latter, I would still have my utmost respect for him as a man and as a professional. But not now.
  10. That;s a great word you've found here. Disillusionment. That's it, probably. People associate themselves with their clubs, people believe that players who spend almost their whole career here associate themselves with the club too. That's what makes player pass from "Great player who did so much for us" to "Legend" in peoples mind. Lampard is a great professional player who did his job for us and now is doing it the same way for our main title rival - that's his choice, that's ok for him. But it's not ok for people who can't imagine things like supporting Chelsea for half their life and then go and become an Arsenal fan. So here it is, disillusionment from a lot of people here. Raul or Drogba or - for God's sake - Gerrard - didn't think it's ok to go and play against their club, that's what makes them legends, at least for their supporters. I won't be surprised if I see Lampard stay in City structure when his career ends - as TV pundit or maybe even coach or whatever. He's taking professional approach over sentimental one, so it depends on the offer, I think.
  11. 1. As long as people feel it. What's your problem? 2. As for me, it's not hate. Disappointment - yes, big time. And not because of this goal. But because of two things - first, going to our direct title rival after sayin he's not gonna play against us. Second, more important for me - all this "poor me" routine from yesterday that so many people are prasing him for. It was disrespectful towards us AND disrespectful towards the club he's playing for right now. All those "this club" and "I don't know what was the win for me" in the post-match interview is something I'm not ready to disregard and forget. I thought better of him as a person and as a professional. So, as for me - my own disappointment will last long. Forever? Maybe. May very well be. He's a legend to my club, but now I'm sitting here crying and trying to hide ot from my family. And not because Lampard joined out tile rival and scored against us, but because attempting to look good in everyone's eyes and "pity me" reaction when something unpleasant happens is what I despise most in people, and after all those years I expected better from Frank. It's my personal feelings, my personal problems, and maybe I'm alone in my sentiments - but please don't go telling me how I, or any other Chelsea fan for that matter, should feel. And since we're on "proper fans" subject - I never was at Stamford Bridge. But I was sitting at Luzhniki stadium in 2008 watching Terry miss that penalty and singing with everyone even after everything ended, guess that counts a bit too.
  12. Sorry, but I find this point of view strange. If he did such thing it would have been disrespectful to his current club AND disrespectful towards us. I would have lost all respect I have for him if he was deliberately not playing his 100% in this match. And I am the one saying I don't want to see Lampard near Chelsea ever again.
  13. 1 point is a good result. The way we got this result - well, not so much, from a psychological point of view. We were leading at home playing our main title rival and they managed to escape with 1 pont and Pellegrini put our legent against us and got a result. I just hope it won't be a great boost for City and they won't start destroying everyone from now on. I wish Costa scored for 2-0 instead of hitting the post. I'm glad it was Lampard who scored an equalizer because now all this argument "he won't bring them points, he won't impact the title race so his move to MC doesn't matter" is irrelevant. He scores goals for them , he brings them points, he is their player now. This "love stories are over" quote from Mourinho hits nail on the head, and I get in which way he meant it - but. I'm standing by my opinion - Lampard is a club legend, he is my favorite Chelsea player, I am grateful for all he's done for us and wish him well in the future, but I don't want to see him anywhere near my club ever again. End of. We could have been 8 point clear off City and 6 off Arsenal. Instead it's 5 and 4 and 13 points from possinle 15. Still a good result with 2 difficult away matches out of the way this early. I am concerned about the state of our defence, I hope Mourinho sorts it out faster than he did last year. Tactics in this match were alright considering our shaky defense and City's attack. And for a bit of perspective - they got only 1 point at home against their main rival and failed to catch up a bit. The rest is up to us. Still hurts like hell losing two points in this manner.
  14. Agree. Though I suppose if two offers on his desk are from Milan and MU, he'd go to our "generally" rival rather than to "enemy" of Inter
  15. It's an old photo, surely I've seen this one a lot of times in previous years.
  16. I'd say I would have been better off not reading this. Everything is so reasonable and well-said and leaves a bitter taste at he same time. I held back with my opinion because I didn't - and still don't - want to judge anyone as this situation is pretty common in football world, Frank deserves a right to continue his career as he sees fit, there are obviously no hard feelings from other side and he's our biggest legend. But forgive me for saying this. Frank is my favorite Chelsea player. I will always be grateful for everything he's done for us over the years. I wish him all the best for the future, and it includes his spell in MC. But I hope that whatever the future will hold for him, he never comes back to Chelsea - be it as manager, director, pundit or whatever. Sorry if someone is going to be offended by it.
  17. From the video The only place to be posted it looks like Cesc didn't even realize at first what's going on and just went to pick up the ball as he intended to do - as soon as he sees the commotion he drops the ball, runs to Costa and forces him away. Getting in the face of Everton's player in the process by the way. Why his behavior is even an issue, I don't understand, really... And Costa should tighten up his act. Not that I'm blaming him for whatever he said (not much obviously 'cos he doesn't know English) as Coleman was doing his best to get him sent off all match. But picking up silly yellow cards is not the way.
  18. I am. Really would like 3 points from this.
  19. Costa's injury only means we need a second striker ASAP. I don't know what we're gonna do this weekend upfront, but we need someone to play vs. MC in case Costa is not ok by then.
  20. But we're stuck with HG quota. We can take Bamford as our HG striker and buy someone who will provide experience, and this way we have insurance in case Costa gets injured (God forbid) and Bamford will work as 4th striker and get the experience in process. But with Torres we have 2 strikers, and it may be too optimistic considering Drogba's age.
  21. I would too, but if we want to win we need experienced striker as a back-up. I hear Van Ginkel refuses a loan? Just hope it doesn't mean that Milan's offer is off in that case.
  22. It's slowly becoming a new legend - or a new way to say that Torres is not as bad as he looks. I can remember only 3 matches form last season when he really worked hard and tried to do his best, but I can name at least 10 games where he was walking instead of running when we went to attack, ignoring his companions, going back before our attack was finished - and I'm not even talking about his attempt/score percentage here. If every game he looked like he is realy trying I'm sure this thread would've run differently.
  23. At this point the question is - does he care?
