Having a sabbatical away from TalkChelsea
Barbara replied to CurlyHairLikeLuiz's topic in Announcements & Support
would be a drama queen attitude if many haven't done the same - even if most quietly. For certain kind of people this might be heaven and everything is cool. But I see a lot of people posting less or stopping posting altogether because of the route the forum is taking. Nothing is eternal, and ignoring or saying people are being drama queens only consolidates that and then if it becomes moot in the future and all is left is more of the same we've been seeing lately, it will lose its popularity - because who will people do their spectacular moaning, offending, negativism and childish behavior to? Without an audience there's no purpose. But let's keep labeling as people moaning about the moaning, people being drama queen, and whats not. Might remind you Rome was burned down in a way they thought impossible too at the time. mIrc, ICQ, Orkut and other social media that once looked like something forever are only a long time memory. But let's behave like this place is getting better every new day... -
one of the articles I said Mourinho was particularly mad at the other doc - the phisio. But look nice for those women (the two that tweeted about the situation and someone posted here, a journalist I suppose and some account named womeninfootball) to make it about Eva. José criticized the doctor and everyone else who don't read the game and just sit on the bench. That includes a whole lot of people, 99% of them men. This is such a non-issue. Asked why he was so angry, he answered, maybe shouldn't have, but we all know he has a loose tongue. Then SHE, not he, SHE, behaves like many of you complain about the BOYS in the Academy taking their venting to social medial. Sorry, but she's the idiot here. It doesn't look this is coming from a 40yo woman (or whatever her age is, something like this for sure), but from a 15 little girl that had her teacher lecturing her in front of the whole schoool and took it to her FB page to get her girlfriends to give her their support and comforting words. Yes, Mourinho was wrong, She was even more with her reaction on FB imo.

He'll be fine, just like the rest of the team. Mourinho won't move from 4-2-3-1, but a 4-3-3 with Oscar supporting him is still the system I like the most.
-
maybe, but seeing it in the video posted last page, it was weird. Oscar is always so happy and enthusiastic in his goal celebrations. I don't think it has any long term implication, but something was definitely off.
-
It's a new season, but our second GK is still better than Arsenal's first... nothing changed.
-
seriously, Mourinho can't be crazy... Oscar seems like the only player fully in form right now... that'd be stupid and nonsense
-
you were saying???? LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL I swear people here only read titles of articles and see results of matches. There's no analysis whatsoever, there's no depth in their thinking. They just look stats numbers, money spent on transfer window, results and they get their ideas from articles by reading the title (from sensationalist tabloids nonetheless). I miss people like Peace, Skipper (who hasn't posted as much as in the past) and others because the diarrhea I have to subject myself everyday in this forum is getting unbearable. Bandwagon kings!
-
I won't bother to read what's been written. I'll just say give him a break. He's not there yet, and he's not known to getting there really fast. That's the way he is, with the exception of the season he arrived here (I suppose he was running high in motivation back then after a big transfer to the European Champions - hello, Arsenal).
-
and some people were slaughtering this fine man for a pre-season match. I don't think he can displace Tibo. If Cech couldn't, I don't honestly expect Asmir to do it, but you never know. either way we continue to have the best duo of GK in England and maybe in the continent. Well, well done. ( I like the way he commands the defense better than Tibo)
-
and many of them he wasn't even selected to play because of his illness. He played in UCL and also the domestic cups. Last season was atypical. He arrived later because of WC and drunk from winning it. He started a few matches and was subbed off, but the season prior to that he had enough chances to prove his worth. I wish he hadn't left, but he didn't want to stay. Also, even after he was cured from is disease, Willian was in much better form than he was. As I said he failed to displace players from the starting XI. Edit: from August to December he started 13 matches for us in addition to the matches he was brought in. That's considerable amount of chances imo. http://www.espnfc.com/player/136580/andre-schurrle?season=2014
-
can't stand seeing his face in the starting XI right now. But we're so short in defense that we basically don't have any other option. I still believe Mourinho made a serious mistake keeping him in the team last season without even trying for a decent streak of matches playing Azpi and Luís. And when he justified his choice he looked even worse saying Iva asked him to play at all matches. I also want to sit in my house every Friday instead of working, but my bosses unfortunately aren't Mourinho...
-
Schurrle played much more than one game here and there and 10-15 minutes here and there. Your memory clearly fails you. People were complaining about how many chances he received and now they're complaining he didn't receive enough chances. The common denominator here is only one: complaining. We can agree to disagree though.
-
we won't keep any player against their will. Andre wanted to leave, there was nothing that could have been done... He left as a bench player and he's still a bench player at Wolfsburg. If anything that's bad career management, not exactly man management. I don't think Mourinho made mistakes on how he handled the AMs in the team. I think he's been making mistakes for a while about the titular defenders and squad players for both defense and midfield. Those mistakes could cost titles, I won't deny the possibility and I don't have much hope Iva and Cahill have chances of leaving the starting XI. His mistakes there are clear as day imo and as long as he continues to make them, we'll suffer and only time will tell what's going to cost us.
-
Mata never fit, KdB showed clearly - even with his own words, Mourinho's and his current manager's - he doesn't accept not being a nailed starter, so he wouldn't accept even to sit down some matches. Schurrle could have been a different story and I'm sis biggest fan, but he's been way too inconsistent despite being given plenty of chances to displace anyone from the starting XI. He failed to secure is spot time after time. Mata and Kev may have a point if they complain about chances given (I don't think they have much), but Schurrle definitely doesn't.
-
and all of them without any exception left because they didn't want to continue in the bench... it's hard to balance those things out because quality players don't want to sit down most matches and with the starting XI we have on midfield, that's where they'd most likely be. We aren't at the same status as Madrid and Barça where players are happy to just be part of the team...

well for the wise people talking about pre-season, there must have been something very wrong with my eyes because the team performing today and the team that perfomed the other matches prior to this was very different in the intensity and the way they approached the match - which was expected, except for those people who think pre-season is the new World Cup. We aren't sharp yet - but made huge progress there imo - and I concede our defense looked even worse than it normally does. Ivanovic had one of the worst matches I've seen from a Chelsea player and unfortunately for us, he can play 10 matches in a row like that and nothing will happen, even if we sign a LB.He's untouchable and it's one of the few things I think Mourinho has been doing wrong. He totally lost the plot with Iva. As the team isn't sharp and the physical condition isn't ideal our slow defense got further exposed - not only by Ivanovic, but by everyone. There had been numerous mistakes made by all back for, from losing 1x1 and getting raped by a winger, to slowness and wrong timing. I expect some serious improvement as the weeks go - they were just as shaky the first few weeks last season, but even with the improvements, it doesn't change the fact we have a way too slow team. Yes, team, in general. It's not only about defense and midfield. With the exception of Willian, Hazard, Moses and Ramires, all our players are either slow or just have standard pace. Willian and Hazard are still far, far away from their best physical condition. Hazard - because he's a slow starter (has nothing to do with him arriving fat to pre-season as some people implied today and in other occasions) and Willian because he had a whole Copa América, shorter vacation and if we don't take care of him properly, we'll burn him out. It'll take both of them a couple of weeks, if not more, to get sharp. That leaves us with a ridiculously slow team as Ramires and Moses are clearly bench players. Fabregas is already a slow player and he's one of those players that couldn't be farther from being sharp. Except one good game - I guess against PSG, not sure - where he had been decent, throughout all of pre-season and carrying on today it's clear he needs to take a few steps towards an ideal condition. It doesn't mean he's useless, the root of all our problems as some people have been saying or implying. He's just off form. Just like Hazard, Willian, Azpilicueta. The only in form players we have right now imo are Oscar, Moses and maybe Terry. Matic and Cahill are almost there and the rest are taking their sweet time to get there (which is sort of expected). It's hard to talk about Costa. He seems to be fine and he looks like his usual self form wise, but you never know with his hamstring, so I won't put him in any group. Still with all those physical problems, Ivanovic existence (allied with Mourinho stubbornness and blindness) we were quite competitive today, a very different team from pre-season and I think we'll get things going soon. I'm far from hitting the panic button, I don't understand those who has already decided our season within a few friendlies and one official match. We could end up the season trophyless or with a couple of them again, that's not the point. The point is it's way too early for you guys to come to any conclusions about this team's chances of winning anything this season. Yes, we still have the same problems as last season. As far as I remember we still won the title with some very comfortable lead. Start spouting bs about us winning nothing at least in November. You won't look as clueless as you do now if you actually wait to see how we and the other teams fare for real.
-
what's the difference between them now and last season? Petr Cech is really that much of a player that he can solve problems in all the areas they usually struggle, starting with management and injuries?
-
WTF Mourinho? Cesc for Zouma?
-
Moses for Willian pls. Or Remy. We look toothless attacking
-
you should be banned for the amount of shit you say. No one should be subjected to having the likes of you around.
-
and they said shit about Asmir...
-
then we sacrifice our best attacking player... seriously Mourinho...
-
well, things just got more complicated... but Oliver has been absolutely right
-
second half barely started and IVa is already detracting the team. I'm getting tired of typing this shit already
-
someone send this to Mou in case he missed the note with his tinted glass
