he was brilliant in the way he set up the team. I didn't like it before the match - thought that we would invite them to attack more than we could be able to handle, but he was PERFECT. And the team executed it flawlessly. Atleti couldn't play at all. Yes, they've created chances, but anyone who follows them can say how much they haven't come even close to what they usually are. And I agree with whoever said that Torres had a better match than Costa.
-
sort of a good result. I think we'll play for another 0x0 at the Bridge... I can't see Mou offering counter to Atleti
-
you didn't understand it. He ISN'T a Chelsea fan at all - easily noticed from his first comment and then confirmed by his own words. He's here for the Belgian players, as we don't have any playing for us and they have, it's easy to assume who he's supporting here. It's a free world, he can come here and post whatever he wants, but it annoys me to read this shit about our team in our forum
-
Have to be honest here - because I'm always extra harsh on him... but Torres played well in the second imo. Much more awareness from him imo
-
can you believe I forgot about the whole thing, I'm all nerves now. Was the clause ever confirmed by any sides other than that one radio report that nobody else heard? lol and fucking Torres!!!! should have passed to Schurrle, fucking idiot
-
I'm not disagreeing about the horrible football, but per your Hazard comment you aren't a Chelsea fan, so you can leave. You're probably cheering for the only Belgian player involved. It's your implication that Hazard shouldn't be bothered about playing for us that makes your comment annoying as fuck.
-
nobody is holding you here though, so you can just leave now.
-
that wasn't a handball not here not in Baghdad!
-
this could be a blessing. Rami to play where Luiz was, Luiz to replace Terry and Schurrle to play Ramires' role.
-
very good by Torres there. Could have passed, but took his shot well - given how he did the whole play
-
plan execution: A+++++++++ No goals conceded, but I think we should get rid of Torres. I'm not sure if we should sub Ramires, but I feel it's such a waste to pass the ball to him in the wing in the rare counter we have as we all know what he'll do with it, but he has a role in the midfield that he's been executing well. It's just with a plan like this the guys that will attack have to be even sharper than the guys defending because the chances will be rare.
-
I'll disagree. Bad positioning imo (lacks instinct), movement is average at best and he just can't do anything with the ball when it goes near him. But he got us a foul... maybe a Luiz goal and I'll forgive him
-
I could strangle Torres to near death at this point. He's fucking frustrating. Also I could break Ramires' leg. He's a waste in the wing because while he has the pace for the counter and therefore WILL receive the ball, we already saw what he's going to do with it. so two out of the three guys that could help us score a goal are useless.... and God's sake, does Schwazer ever fails to slip when roofing the ball? He did it countless times Saturday
-
eww, don't mention my butt, buddy :ph34r2: but I agree about the second line so much
-
shocking lineup, not sure how to feel about it. Initially I don't like it atll
-
For a moment I forgot I was at Luiz's thread and not Ramires' HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GEEZER!!!!! :yay: Hope he has the match of his life for us today (as there are no doubts he'll play in any position)
-
if he gets a chance to play today he has to kill it. It's a perfect set up for him to play well. Let's hope he plays his best match so far. It's definitely a long shot given his current form, but form is just like that, someday is there, the next isn't. So maybe it could suddenly pick up
-
I think even a one goal loss (as long as we score as well) is a good result. Of course I'd be happier with a draw, not to say a win, but I'm pretty confident about this team playing big matches at the Bridge. We showed to struggle a lot with the physicality of EPL lately - among other issues - but I don't expect us to get the same with Atletico even if they're a pretty physical team themselves. The pitches are bigger in Spain, I think they'll struggle a bit with the reduced space in England and I also believe Oscar, Willian, Luiz and Ramires (which ones get to play) will benefit from a larger pitch. I'm curious about who gets to replace Iva. I'm not sold on Ash yet. I can see Mou playing three CBs easily.

In the list of players that need to leave the club Oscar isn't there yet imo. We need to give him another season or at least until the january window (even though it'd sound a bit premature). The fact is he's been poor and whoever said we didn't say it in the past few weeks is delusional or just have short memory. A lot of us have been saying he's been in a dip of form - someone would have to be stupid to say otherwise - but some people were dismissing him altogether as a player, which I think shouldn't be the case. I don't know if he's thinking about the world cup - but I do know he's Felipão's choice and that won't change no matter how bad he plays for us. He's been playing really bad for four months now with only a glimpse of improvement in some other matches a couple of weeks ago, and still there's no doubt in Brazil that not only he will go to the WC but chances are he is Brazil's #10. his spot at the NT isn't at stake here, first because Felipão is an experienced manager, not someone like some members here, second because Oscar's earned it there and finally because Brazil doesn't have many better options (given our style of play)... there are other CAM options, but not as fitting for the system as him. So I can't figure how his eyes could be in the WC now if he's pretty much guaranteed there. What's not guaranteed at all is his position at Chelsea. He must step up next season, otherwise he'll be displaced by Willian (or someone else) and maybe he'll soon leave the club (which I doubt as Mourinho loves the kid and just like Felipão isn't the premature 'coaches' around here). So yeah, everyone has been repeatedly saying how poor he's been, that's nothing new as some of you implied, but it's too early to talk about signing him off.
-
today and some other days, but he hasn't been our most creative player - like the stat states. I think he was our best player and he had a good match - but was especially good with the corners. From open play he was definitely way better than Oscar, but nothing special. Good, but not great, if you know what I mean. The thing is the stats misleads (not all matches, some of them and definitely the cumulative view) because any pass that precedes a shot is counted as such and we have some clueless shooting sometimes. I said somewhere else - don't remember now - that he's doing quite well in his transition right now and I believe if Oscar doesn't bring his A game next season that Willian will rightfully and deservedly misplace him.
-
fuck my life, even the bloody Brazilian commentator narrates the goal saying Borini for Sunderland... and Liverpool. Kill me now
-
we look so toothless it hurts.
-
Mourinho just sub off Oscar. He's just awful
-
FFS Oscar!!!! way to waste a great counter-attack. We should bring Schurrle for Oscar or maybe Salah - probably Oscar.
