Sassy, troller Mourinho “Now we can say that we won both matches againt the champion. So if the champion is Liverpool we won both matches against Liverpool , if the champion is ManCity we won both matches againt ManCity - Jose Mourinho”

The trophy to Gerrard

Eden knows exactly how we feel

The only thing we really need is to learn how to win the matches against the defensive minor sides. And as long as Liverpool doesn't win it and we're the ones to break their bubble, I'll feel comforted if our slips against Sunderland, Crystal, Villa, etc will prevent us from winning it. We just need to learn how to break those damn defenses and then there's no stopping us. Hopefully Mourinho has a wizard plan to solve it next year.
-
tallest order for next season: in addition to buy a striker, learn how to break down defensive smaller teams, because big teams we handle just fine
-
actually we're saying if we have time we can write as we've been doing, the problem is not having time to write at all. At least that's what I personally meant. I quite like the preview as it is, I wouldn't mind a more condensed thing. I particularly love Skipper's in detail previews
-
I just know that Jason should never do it again I don't mind writing 100 words or 1000 as long as I have time
-
I think he'll start alongside Matic against Liverpool if José plans (out of need) to use him at any capacity against Atletico
-
don't know where to post it, but I'll do it here. Felipão confirmed that the four Brazilians (in addition to Paulinho) are going to the world cup. In addition to them Thiago Silva, Julio Cesar and Fred were mentioned as possible captains for the team - which he confirmed that for a player to be a captain, they need to go (Luiz is also one of possible captains). Felipão said he went to London and talked to those 5 players (ours and Paulinho), so they already know they're going, which makes some people's assumptions that they were under-performing because of their position in the NT unfounded - as I said it was back then.
-
but he's going through a transition... he came from a very light league to one of the most physical. He had nearly a free role before and now he has tons of defensive responsibilities and it's new in the team. I don't expect him to have the best season ever for us...

When not even our fans can acknowledge that it wasn't Atletico that had a bad day, but that WE neutralized and limited them, and give credit to the manager where it's due then you know nobody is going to understand Mourinho did what he had to do. Atletico was toothless because we reduced their spaces (in a huge pitch) and they looked clueless. Then someone suggests us to actually try to grab a goal? With our two best attackers injured? Of course no one can say what would have happened if Mourinho had tried a more offensive formation from 75' on, but I think chances would be really small of us getting a better result. People watched RM yesterday (some for the first time in the year) and they think that's what we should have done. Right, that's because we had similar players to Alonso, Modric, Ronaldo, di Maria, Benzema and Bale at our disposal then... People seem to fail to understand (and that's not towards The Skipper) that we don't have the people to play what RM did... we just don't. Then we try to be more offensive, it means one piece of the system Mourinho got has to be dropped and then we may invite Atletico back to the match - not to mention we were without our main keeper and our captain was also off injured. It doesn't make that much a wise move imo. Now we'll play in a very small pitch that naturally means a space reduction for Atletico's standards in Spain. We'll hopefully have at least one between Eden and Sami recovered (praying for both) and we'll play at home. I'm one of those that don't think 0x0 is much better than 0x1 to Atletico (although nonetheless better, it's just as Rapha said, among all good results, 0x0 is the 'worst' good). So why risk everything in the first 90 minutes, if this is a 180-minute battle where we have the advantage of having the final word at home? It's not like we had someone who's the same caliber as RM attackers to get. Schurrle didn't do much and although he was probably instructed to defend more than anything else, I'm not that sure he was going to be the guy to win us the match. Sometimes I feel people are sort of delusional in what they expect from this team, as if they haven't witnessed enough times this season that we can't create chances and we are really bad capitalizing them... then in a very risky situation given all players that weren't playing, they want us to give an unproved guy the free pass to attack (or at least relieve him from some of his defensive role). Yeah, not much sense in my head. Unless you have Cristiano, di María, Bale or Benzema.

I always laugh with this parody account, there are some hilarious thing. This tweet was made of win "Sorry for not tweeting anything during Real-Bayern, I was (busy) counting the 621 passes Bayern took to score as many goals as Chelsea with 147"
-
RM had clearly the best chances of the match while Bayern was dangerous only with Gotze. Ronaldo and di María missed a sitter each. We don't came even close, sorry, but your comparison makes no sense. Pep likes possession more than his wife... it's like one of The Exorcist movies... possession everywhere. RM dominated the game even with only 25% possession, that's a feat itself.

Real Madrid's pivot is orgasm inducing. Modric and Alonso is as good as it gets.

It's between him and Iva for UCL, but I don't get why he'd be the captain against Liverpool. I don't even think he'll play tbh. He's a key player and we can play Matic-Lamps or Mikel on Sunday and none of them on UCL. We can also play Iva as a CB and Cole and Azpili as the FBs. I don't give a fuck about the Liverpool match given the circumstances.

Can't find the vid, but here are the gifs Neil Barnett : What is it about this team that keeps getting to the final stages of European competitions? What do we have in our blood? David : Ambition, Belief, Working hard everyday. That’s why. x

How extra time favors the team that had to travel and are literally in foreign territory? And we're used to playing without any space - even if we suck balls - they aren't and they proved that in a pitch as huge Vicente Calderón when we took away their space. They'll struggle even more. They're Chelsea 2.0 with a better overrated striker, but with way less experience and success at this stage - which is all much important and decisive. And I think it's pretty naive from everyone to think that Mou will come with an offensive team for the home leg. The only change I see is Hazard for Lampard if he's fit. Then drop Luiz to CB and Ramires do the pivot. With both Lamps and Mikel out and Matic cup-tied, there's a chance we'll play with Iva stepping up as a CB and Luiz being kept in the pivot. The most obvious option would be maybe play a 4-3-3 with Oscar or Willian dropping to midfield, but I don't see Mourinho doing it. It could be a 4-4-1-1 with Hazard (supposing he's fit) playing behind Eto'o (supposing he's fit) with Oscar and Willian marking each of the FBs and playing there, with Hazard centered. We do need Hazard and Eto'o back as we already lost Cech, Terry, Frank and even Mikel. How did injuries screw us up so badly all of sudden?

Just after the match he told that Mourinho asked him to follow their FB and that he felt like he played as one (FB) and that he did as he was asked. That's one of the great things about Willian. Whatever he's asked to do he'll give his blood doing it. I'm sure once the system is more stable and we're better in some positions - especially the pivot being made of more physical, stronger and better passing players - Willian will have more freedom to be the player he can be. I can't forget that Mourinho post-match interview before the Arsenal match I guess, where he admitted that the team wasn't ready for the system to work and he had to take a more defensive approach. He's sacrificing his AMs more than he'd like to. Yes, Oscar and Willian or Schurrle and Salah will always be asked to press and tackle (and the Brazilians are very good on that and it comes almost effortless to them, although it's demanding physically and can wear them down), but they won't be asked to sacrifice their attacking game so much. Oscar still needs to find a balance between both things, he can't do well on both at the same time it seems, but he has time. But Willian is readier and once he puts his first season here behind him I think he's going to be a great player for us. He's very tactical, he's committed to whatever the managers asks and while he doesn't seem like a brilliant cookie off the pitch (not that I care), he's decently smart to play football as a creative AM. He has the same commitment, diligence, resilience than Ramires (can't deny those things about Rami), but he isn't prone to losing his head and he's way more technical. I think we need more players with such profile or to develop those things (in the youngsters case). Mourinho demands that from his players which is why I don't see Rami, Luiz, Iva, Azpili, Willian among other ever leaving under Mourinho's management. Some of those guys have too many ups and downs in some aspects of their games, but they have just the right attitude. Willian has a higher ceiling - even if he's 25 already - than most of the rest as well as flair and technique. It only adds to his package and I'm sure we'll be all very proud of him next season. And could we please let the price tag ever go? Does Bale play like a 100m player? No, because that's only Messi and Ronaldo (price tag), but you don't see Madrid fans saying it. He's playing well for them, he's stepping up when he needs, but he isn't playing as a 100m player. We could take a page or two from their book. Clubs decide price tags, the players don't tell how much they cost.

something I hate about today's match... three out of legends could miss the next match. I think the three are the biggest leaders in the pitch (Iva's a legend of a different kind). If Terry misses it, then it's going to be really tough in terms of leadership
-
Mourinho just confirmed in the presser that Cech is out for the season and TErry needs to be reevaluated

I agree because this team is more dangerous when they have the counter. But I'm hoping the reduced spaces at the Bridge will work against them. They like space - as any Spanish team - no matter how physical they are. I think we nullified them perfectly here and would do even better in smaller spaces. If Eto'o can play, I'm positive he can do much better than Torres did (which I honestly think had a good match in the second half and in general, I didn't like his first 25 minutes or so and was pissed at him, but he improved as time passed and did better than Costa imo), not because it's Eto'o and Torres, but because I think it suits Eto'o's style better. I'm hopeful (not exactly confident because the 0x0 is almost as bad as a 1x0 imo) and it's possible, even if we don't have Cech (and who knows about Terry - but I think Terry will be available.
