And bringing on Mata could well have lead to us losing the game as opposed to the point we got ,your hypothetical stance that your subs (and you have already back tracked on your Hazard stance) that only see attacking substitutions away from home against a top team bringing a victory ,when a defeat would have been much more likely. In that game as we stood in the league securing a point was much more important than risking a loss, which was far more likely than the win you seem to think an attacking substitution would have brought, despite all recent evidence in the league away from home where we have been very fragile and open to late defeat. This time we got the draw.

It was a call for the manager to make between Cahill and Luiz for the Arsenal game ,I think Mourinho got it right and Cahill's performance showed that ,Luiz is world class? Lets see him be world class for Chelsea on the pitch ,not for Brazil or Barcelona,if he gets his head down and forgets the hype from people who do not understand the basics of being a world class defender that is up to him ,at the moment he is playing second fiddle to Gary Cahill who was excellent against Arsenal and is forming an understanding with John Terry that is set up to keep clean sheets and not give away very silll goals, with both defending properly as a priority.

Yes and the other hypothetical version of events is that without Jose settling for a point in a game where we made the most chances and had the most shots is that without us settling for a well deserved and earned point away from home ,we could have brought on another misfiring striker as we did at Stoke when Eto'o gave away the ball which then lead to a Stoke goal ,when the sub was supposed to help us win.

On the money ,forums are full of wild opinions with no substance (but nonetheless welcome) ,for example this poster thinks Mikel is brilliant in every game on the evidence if sideways passes and not a lot else !! Lampard has been superb of late and really is a victim of his own standards and goalscoring record. Thankfully the only opinion that really matters is that of Jose Mourinho .

If you only want me to read the first line ,leave it at that ,I read the whole post. Jose has worked out that we are far to offensive when playing away from home ,even at places like Stoke and Sunderland and are shipping goals and unable to hold onto leads ,the reason we do not concede more against the big teams (as you put it) is that we play more like we did at Arsenal ,as I said Jose has worked it out ,you obviously have not, yet. Yes I am saying we should do more to protect leads in matches like at Stoke, rather than come away with nothing when we have the game won . I think 4-3-3 will serve us well, especially away from home and we will not be so eratic and easy to play against as shown last night . Your idea of subs may well have left us short when the home team look to press in the final minutes and they may well have scored the winner rather then Chelsea players defending well and us taking a draw as shown at Stoke, a game we should have 3 points from.
-
So after shipping goals and points away from home in europe and the league what more were you expecting? more of the same by the sound of it . We have been to easy to play and score against in recent times,we need to get back to clean sheets and conceding 1 goal at most ,especially away from home . A loss would have been very damaging for us yesterday and a massive boost for Arsenal and Wenger, you even say that Hazard was tired which he was, he had he worked his nuts off ,so that was an obvious one ,Willian was poor and Torres had worked hard as well and had not looked like scoring ,so not really sure what changes could have been made and there was always the possibility that by going for the late win we could have lost and sent Arsenal top of the league, the draw keeps everything nice and tight and continues Jose's record of getting results against our rivals at the top . You can be sure if the game had been at Stamford Bridge Jose would have gone all out to win it late on , a point at your rivals ground is always a good result and with a little more care on the counter we nick the match. Mourinho has said he needs to work out why we lose matches away from home on a regular basis and give away goals like confetti. It would seem he has worked it out and you have not ,yet.

And to you mate ktbffh in good and bad times :blue scalf:
-
Thought he worked his off and was just a click away from doing them on the counter on several occasions . He is tuning into Jose and listening ,no problem with his attitude a great lad and one we will benefit from in the near future in a big way. He is class.
-
Did ok in a three and loved that tackle on Arteta ,transition still could be quicker in my opinion . In a two he will struggle though .
-
Perfect tactics and a clean sheet ,with any kind of decent striker we nick games like that ,but a perfect tactical game from Jose .
-
Liked him at Sunderland but he was wasteful tonight ,should have made more of several counters a step backwards and the jury is still out .
-
Has been injured? Let us know when he is ready to play and not make silly mistakes then,is it tonight?
-
Not so sure about that ,this time .
-
Music to my ears ...................very good to hear this and may his wish be granted .
-
One that does track runners and does protect the back four not a mythical illusion that really does not exist and one that can win the ball as high up the pitch as possible a bit of aggression and running power would be nice as well ,in short lamposts are for dogs to piss up .
-
Well I think the most telling stat on Luiz is that the worlds best manager is picking Gary Cahill as a defender instead of him and we all know what many on the forum think of Cahill ,so where does that leave Luiz?
-
And no offence either but Azpi is not in the same class as Coleman ,nor is Wallace and neither of them came from the English league and nor was Bosingwa.
-
And how many times has it been said that Ivan is not the best when we are attacking especially at home ,I am sorry but Azpi is not even playing right back and has done very little in my opinion probably why he is not playing at right back . I see Ivan as the best squad cover in the business for right back and centre back ,but not good enough going forward for us , Coleman as you may have seen today is very good going forward and has the pace and stamina to recover and defend.
-
When was the last time you saw Azpi do that? If ever
-
wow the lack of intelligence is mind blowing . Coleman is not English he plays in the English league .
-
Nobody tis talking about signing English players ,Coleman is not English ,we are talking about signing players from the English Premier League ,arguably the best in the world and therefore a fine place for signing players.
