Where did I say leaders are not important? If you respect bright minds of Carragher, Keane and Owen so much I would suggest you to read retired players/pundits from other countries as well.

Those pundits are mostly ex-captains. I think that is why they always emphasize and repeat the importance their roles in the team. Balance is important, young players can learn from the experienced ones but this is not the main problem right now.

The importance of leaders are exaggerated by retired footballers in England. Those pundits usually say two things: the players need a kick in the butt and the team need leaders. Boring.

We can sell Fabregas and Matic and sign better players but Ramires and Mikel would drag them down to their level as well in time. We need better players in bench to keep the first 11 players motivated and competitive.

We should strive to become Bayern Muncih 2012/2013. That type of team which combines physicality and technique would dominate both domestic and European competition. That's why I am not so keen on Guardiola or Rodgers who is obsessed with Spanish football.
