Was useless as usual in the 40 odd minutes he was on the field. The link between defense and attack that he was supposed to provide was completely missing. He took 9 touches on the ball to complete a grand total of 3 passes in 40 minutes. As a result our defenders had to step up for that role as well (luiz's pass to hazard). He was just another body on the pitch in the game. 0 tackles, 1 interceptions in 40 minutes of football and people here are raving about him.

Somehow, the above two arguments miss that point.

Are you saying that the players you have listed ALWAYS perform at such a high level that they should be immune from criticism or their mistakes should not be pointed out? Or because since they are just squad players, we should turn a blind eye to their mistakes. A mistake committed on the field, a lack of application shown by a player will be pointed out, irrespective of whether the player in question is a world class player or just an average squad player.
