Torres was completely the wrong striker from the off. I said this when he was signed because he was used to a style that allowed him to get behind defenders using pace. Our style at the time was one of a big strong striker in Drogba but because Torres scored goals people on the board thought he was the man, not taking into context our style and his. Torres cannot play with his back to goal and create and bring others into play, never has been and never will be. We have never replaced Drogba and there in lies the problem, that style fits our system, Bony can do it, Cavani too and also Costa, that's the pattern emerging and it's not hard to see why.

Bony is PL proven and whilst he may not get the amount of games he does at Swansea the larger salary and being at a top club should be enough to sway him to make the move. I honestly rate Bony hugely, I think he would be a super edition to the squad and his style is one of which is what we need but also the pattern of player he is would sit similar to that of Costa and Lukaku if it where those who were in the squad. There is also some other options out there such as Huntelaar who could be purchased for reasonable amounts but at the same time offering another outlet for that position. What isn't feasible is the three world class strikers option, it won't happen and shouldn't happen. Get the balance right but at the same time as purchasing that bit of quality that suits the squad make up and structure.

Jose will have made notes on where it went wrong, he ain't that naive not to take things from it and learn. Everyone learn and put things right no matter the level that the person is at. He needs the second season and to build on what we have done this year. It was a masterstroke by getting Matic back, absolute steel of a price and he has been monumental for us. I also believe Jose is hugely pivotal in the form of John Terry, again back to hos 07-08 form, possibly even better. There is enough focus and scope for us to build something huge for next season starting with getting shot of a lot of on loan crap such as Marin and Moses. Funds can be raised through sales of certain players who must go, I don't need to spell out who that is, so that and transfers fees plus wages and we can really start spreading it wide in terms of the quality we need.

Hugely missed again last night, next season will be a joy to see him back in for games such as this. I cannot see what direction this team is going in when we have to play both Ramires and Luiz, both absolute chronic together. The funds of selling those two could be more than enough to bring in someone who deserves to be next to Matic in the CM role.
