We all know what Spurs are and how they always fall short, it's what they do. But Harry Kane's finishing is sublime, those goals last night were brilliantly taken. The problem for Spurs is there is already noise that some of their big names want out, and the likes of us, City and United will spend big. Like what was said last night it will be hard for them to buy much better than they have already.

Gibson this season has been a golden light in a tragic season for Boro. His distribution with both feet has been first class, his reading of the game is absolute quality, his timing of tackles is superb and he will be a main stay of the England back line for years to come, I promise. We all questioned the Alonso signing last season but maybe in this instance I'm seeing something in Gibson we all missed in Alonso. I'm not certain we will go for Gibson but we could do a hell of a lot worse I'm telling you, not only that but his price will probably a realistic figure and not something stupid like for what is being spoken about for VvD.

Totally unrealistic price, and if that figure is right we won't pay it. We could get Ben Gibson for half of that and he's every bit as good, and I say that with confidence after watching both all season.

The only thing that matters is seeing the trophy lifted on Sunday, the match itself whether you support Chelsea or Sunderland is a dead rubber. But please don't get that mixed up with me saying I couldn't care less about the result, I want the win end of, but there are battles for fourth going on and rightly SKY will show that, it's has huge significance for all the teams involved in it. You will get goal flashes and the goals shown I have no doubt, but as long as the trophy lift is shown, and it will be, that's all that matters.

I also think he will get the captaincy, I also think he will get it next season because I think we will buy a new CB for alongside Luiz and Cahill used as a squad option. This IMO should happen- Cahill has had a very good season but do we allow that to stop us improving? Not at all for me, he's still out of the three the shakiest and we need an upgrade and it's more than possible to replace with better quality.

After watching Monday night back again and his performance, not just his performance but his movement I think he will retire. He looked like he had drawing pins inside his socks, his ability to move and change direction is gone. He never had much speed but now he looks in pain as he runs. Sunday should be his last act, he has a legacy here and he will be commended for that and given the best send off. But do your body a favor John, end it now, do your coaching badges and go from there. He doesn't need money, he can amble on behind the scenes and get the support from the club for coaching etc, you never know he may slot into the chair next to Antonio, nobody knows but don't torture yourself elsewhere John, it's time now.
