  1. I was wondering why they hadn't sorted that out, it's been ages.
  2. Well what a match of excitement and drama. Firstly I have to say I hope that Dider will recover well, that looked extremely nasty what happened to him. Superb goal from Bosingwa, nice and early and good to see someone different finding the net. Shame we had to concede, I'm not angry with Hilario as he made some fine saves during the match. There was a pause after their goal and most people if not all in the MHL got up and sang Carefree which I thought was definitely 'Proper Chels'. Great penalty from Lampard, glad their goal keeper got sent off! Then to top it off a fine goal by Mata, well done on his debut
  3. Thank you for correcting me FB, I was thinking of 1971 (Cup Winners Cup) and 1970 (FA Cup) as the last time we had won a major trophy, prior to the 1997 FA Cup win, other than of course lifting the League title back in 1955. Booing as I see it is a modern thing. The fans that boo (if you can call them fans) need to take a step back and look at our history and be made to understand that we haven't always been a successful team. I get the impression that some of the boo boys are long standing fans and who ought to know better.
  4. i find that whenever I download the site on to my mobile it suddenly becomes very slow, almost freezes. I've tried downloading a different browser, like 'Opera Mobile' and each time I get thrown out as soon as I try to dowload it. What am I doing wrong?
  5. I think you can do that already can't you? Doesn't it come under the Kick It out campaign?
  6. I think to name and shame people that boo is ridiculous and is bound to cause tension. I do not agree with booing as I think while there are players on the pitch wearing a Chelsea shirt you should support them no matter what. The phrase i've heard many a time in response to the boo boys is 'Where were you when we were shit? I do think we have to get out of this mode where we expect Chelsea to be successful all of the time. You only have to look back pre-1997 and the fact the last time we'd won any silverware was 1971. I wonder if the boo boys were out in force during the intervening years, I think probably not as people got used to the fact that we hadn't won any silver ware for such a long time, but the fans carried on supporting the team no matter what.
  7. Yes, it just suddenly came to me just now. I'm sure someone else can do a better job though.
  8. Been trying to think of a chant for AVB and this is the best I've been able to come up with so far (cheesy I know ) I thought might go to the tune of ABC by the Jackson 5.... AVB, is the man at super Chelsea With John Terry Will lead us to Victory
  9. I noticed that a lot with quite a few of the supporters of the European Clubs as they were constantly singing and jumping up and down and going generally mental.
  10. I have to say the worst game for atmosphere last season at the Bridge was for the CL, Copenhagen, absolutely dead. It was pretty hard trying to sing with no one else wanting to.
  11. Fantastic news, what a relief his dad has been found OK
  12. One of the reasons I became a football supporter was because of the match day experience. Where else can you get such an experience, excluding other sports? Right from the start from watching the FA Cup final at Wembley in 2009, I was impressed with the level of support and passion shown by Chelsea fans not only at Wembley but also from the fans that were in the pub watching the game. Regarding the question of atmosphere at Stamford Bridge, well I think it does really depend on how you choose to participate or not participate during the match. It's up to everyone of us to create that unique experience. I admit I do not have the loudest voice, but I bloody well will give it a go to get behind the team throughout, irrespective of how the team is doing. I totally detest anybody that is quick enough to start booing the players, fuck off back to your armchairs if that's what you call getting behind the team! The other factor is of course where you sit, again it really does depend on what you want to get out of the experience as to where you sit. If you want to sit in a morgue, well sit in the West Stand Lower, but if you want to show your passion then obviously go for the MHL or the Shed Lower. There is a huge issue regarding ticket prices which is preventing many fans from attending which is such a shame. One would hope that the club recognizes who the real fans are and that it's not just about putting bums on seats.
  13. Surely that's a good thing to have too many midfielders, more choice!
  14. You should have posted this in the Chelsea v West Brom match thread, but sadly yes there was boing after the first half
  15. Ok it wasn't the best of the matches for us, but was there really any need for booing at half time? Shame on anyone that did Pluses from the match were obviously the goals from Nico and Flo. I thought after I had heard yesterday that Cech would be out for 2 to 4 weeks I was concerned first of all. Shit what are we going to do, no Cech? In the short term seeing Hilario in action today and bearing in mind his performance during pre-season, and looking at the opposition leading up to our trip to Old Trafford I'm not too concerned. Hopefully Petr will be fully back in action by te time we make that visit. It's only week 2 of the season, KTF
  16. Take it easy. I remember Bolton away last season and I wasn't very well the day before and my family were saying to me that I shouldn't go, I did go in the end, didn't want to waste my ticket, it was more a case of seeing how I was on the day. I didn't enjoy the match as much as I would like'd to have, but I'm still gald I went.
  17. Ah what a shame Nikki, really gutted for you Hope you feel better soon. I believe the match is on ESPN I think, hence the late kick off.
  18. That's OK, I am still about, I don't always have time to long on due to work and family, so I log on when i can
  19. Hadn't realised yesterday that he was under such immense pressure, hope his dad will be OK. I'd admire his attitude to carry on, saying that he didn't want to let down the team and his family.
  20. Good work Jim, I like the look of the new look forum. Really easy to navigate around. My only gripe was that I couldn't upload pictures in the Gallery, but you've sorted that out.
  21. Torres stood out for me yesterday, although it was a gamble by AVB to start him over Drogba, but I believe Fernando needs the chance to prove himself from the start of the match. OK he's had plenty of chances during the last season to prove himself, but it's this season what counts now . He will hopefully be refreshed and put in more performances like he did yesterday from now onwards. For me he really showed that he was trying. From I what I've seen from Stoke the last couple of seasons they are a tough side to play and so it wasn't going to be easy. I'm rather glad we got this game out of the way early on as they're one of at least 2 or 3 other sides I've seen us struggle against, particularly away, i.e. Everton, Villa, Man City.
  22. One thing I'm looking forward to is the Pre-match entertainment on the concourse, definitely worth a look if you're going to the match tomorrow. The guy who did all the singing last season was great and really got everyone going
  23. I am so looking forward to this, I know it's only a friendly but I know that the atmosphere will be amazing and hopefully the team will put in a good performance, rounding of the pre-season with another win.
  24. Yes it was as the Chelsea Football Fancast Boys would say 'A Proper Chels Moment'
  25. A superb turnout from the fans. Highlight was a rendition of 'Celery' with Celery being thrown left, right and centre, I don't know how the guys (who were in front of me) managed to smuggle it in to the ground? One funny moment was when a bit hit one of the stewards and she promptly hurled it back into the crowd, this was to an enormous cheer from crowd.
