Right, but despite the rivalry between you guys and City, back then they weren't title contenders by any means. Big Pete wasn't going to help take the PL title away from you. And he didn"t join them right after leaving United. PS: he's also a bit of a legend over here at Sporting, the dane.
How many of those names were seen as actual club legends? None of those are at the same level that Lampard is (or better, was) with Chelsea. You really can't compare.
True, I thought this year his decision making would improve, but I haven't seen anything new on that regard. He seems to think that only goals impress, when sometimes a simple pass would suffice... Classical case of trying too hard, I guess.
Fuckin hell that was rough, thought Maribor would help us go through.. Chelsea clearly the deserving winner though. Neither team played that well imo. Chelsea looked half-gas and Sporting was way too scared until the second goal. Few of our players actually showed up. Gotta mention Carrillo, Adrien and Paulo Oliveira, worthy of the shirts they represented... Now it's time for Chelsea to win the CL.
For the 2nd (and hopefully last) time this year I won't be rooting for Chelsea. Good luck to you all though, hoping for a Sporting win or a draw. Gg. [emoji109]
Ummm... He has been deployed in the DM role without success. I watched him since he made his first appearances for Sporting, his cameos as DM were nowhere near his usual standard... Veloso was the DM. Then at Porto Fernando was the DM. In the national team Veloso/William/Tiago (altough I prefer him a little further forward). Now at Monaco he plays in front of Kondogbia and Toulalan. Well I think he his good enough already. Plus he can play as a LB, DM or CB... Great bench option.
