He's an average 30 year old, who will take game time away from youth prospects. Metaphorically he is Kakuta's grave digger, and certainly doesn't offer anything other than squad bulk. He's not a strong work engine who works hard, he's a feeble anorexic 30 year old. He was a 'why not' 'let's give it a go' signing (so to speak). I remember Drogba was offended after he sung 'you'll never walk alone', and just to seal his undeserved arrogance, he demanded a first team number. Because unlike liverpool we don't have the history to turn down his demands.

It's a sad day for our champions league aspirations when any average player signs. Criticism towards Benayoun is fully justified.

An average player like Yossi couldn't have dreamed for a better time to return.. Crisis and all that, not exactly spoiled for choice.

He's better than Benayoun, not much of a complement though.

What real proof do we have the club made a bid? At least when an offer was made for Neymar, santos made it official.

Pienaar = Benayoun. If we keep signing & trying to sign these type of players we will become what liverpool are now. Imo, it's either give youth a chance (kakuta,bruma etc). Or sign big money players (hamsik, lukaku etc).

8pm kick off... I suppose it gives these already exhausted players some extra hours rest.

Good to see Carlo dismissing speculation. Like many have already stated, it was the last position which needed to be strengthened.
