From Sky Sports... Jose Mourinho believes it will be "impossible" for his Chelsea side to keep Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil quiet for the entirety of Monday's top-of-the-table clash at the Emirates Stadium. Ozil's seamless arrival in the Premier League from Real Madrid, where he played under Mourinho, has "completed the puzzle" for Arsene Wenger's Arsenal, the Portuguese believes, firmly establishing the Gunners as title contenders. Mourinho said: "He arrived, Arsene gave him the shirt, immediately he starts playing and immediately the team becomes better. "He's a phenomenal player. He's one of those players that you buy and you complete the puzzle of your team." v Live Monday Night Football Arsenal vs ChelseaDecember 23, 2013, 7:00pm Sky Sports 1 HD Remote RecordGet a Sky Sports Day PassUpgrade to Sky Sports It was Mourinho who signed Ozil for Real - from Werder Bremen after impressing at the 2010 World Cup - and the Chelsea boss suggested the Germany forward has no faults in his game. Mourinho said: "I know his strong points. Not the weaknesses. "I think I know how to try to stop him to be in the game (for) 90 minutes, with 90 minutes of direct influence. "But it's impossible to stop him for 90 minutes, because these kind of players they will have always a moment or a couple of moments where you cannot stop them and they end up showing why they are so good. "To stop him completely, I don't believe we can." HALF PRICE DAY PASSGet 50 per cent off a Sky Sports Day Pass from NOW TV. Stream 24 hours of Sky Sports for just £4.99. Click here for more. Mourinho left Real Madrid to return to Chelsea in June before Ozil followed a similar path to London, albeit to Arsenal in a club-record deal worth in the region of £43million. "I was surprised, but at the same time I understand what Real Madrid is," said Mourinho of Madrid's decision to allow the playmaker to leave. "It's a club that needs to do by their philosophy what they did with Gareth Bale, what they did with Isco. "When you buy Isco, when you buy Bale, to keep also Mesut, maybe they made their decision because of that." Asked whether he was surprised Wenger spent such a figure on one player, Mourinho said: "It's improved his team. There are many ways to improve your team. "One of the ways is to work young people and give them time to grow up and to improve. "Another way is to go directly to the market and buy an end product in the top moment of their careers. They had the chance to do it with Mesut and they did it very well." Mourinho believes it is necessary to both recruit leading players and nurture young talent to be successful. "If you are just building, building, building, probably you're not going to get there," he said. "He got an important player that's changed his team clearly. "Eight years developing his players and making the kinds of (Theo) Walcott, (Kieran) Gibbs, (Aaron) Ramsey and his boys become men and really very good players and at the same time buying people like Mesut. That's why they're good (this season). "In my time here, Walcott was a kid. He's now a man. And these other guys, now they are players in the best moment of their careers. "(Jack) Wilshere, Ramsey, Walcott, Gibbs. All these guys they are at the perfect age. "I'm not saying Mesut transformed the team completely. I'm saying the manager and the club gave these players conditions and time to have great stability in their evolution. "Now when you come and you buy (Olivier) Giroud and you buy Ozil and you buy some other players, your team becomes much better and ready to be doing what they're doing, which is to fight for the title." Wenger has been cautious when questioned on Arsenal's title credentials. "Maybe it's a strategy," Mourinho said. "But I think in the depth of their souls they believe they can (win) and they believe they have conditions to do it."

Ronaldinho still smiles when he gets a red card... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbONbQcBuZM

He wont score as many goals was my point.... Not that he wouldnt make it here... Formation and tactics play a huge part on player's stats... Go ask Messi and Cristiano
-
Do you guys see how many times he shoots the ball per game........ I dont think he will get that many opportunities to shoot here.... Liverpool is cf friendly... Chelsea most def. is not.
-
How is Luiz complete? I dont care if my CBs can do jogo bonita, I want my CBs like JT use to be or Kompany... Not a person like Luiz that has a tendency do mess up... How does a goal line clearance make you world class? Spain was like dead at the confed cup.... When they got to the final, their main members were all (mostly) out of form... It's blind fans that think their players are world class... Same as Liverpool with Coutinho, etc... Man UNited with their players... Also, Barca doesnt aim for WC defenders, they aim for guys who are good with the ball and can play somewhat good defense... Thats why Mascherano and song play cb.....
-
Oh em gee... David Luiz world class conversation again..... Only people that think that are Chelsea fans and some people from Brazil......
-
You guys dont follow the NBA... Iverson had a strong work ethic.... Worked his ass in High school, college and the NBA. Probably could of gone pro in american football as well.. He just was a misunderstood person that made terrible decisions off the court and had a "ME" attitude similar to Cristiano..... However, no one ever question AI work ethic or heart/desire...
-
Rafa had less expectations... When he was appointed, we were pretty much eliminated from the Champs league and from what I remembered, our league title was already gone by than.... In addition, he knew he was an "interim" so couldnt care less about other factors like Jose has to.... LAstly, the expectations from fans was pretty much impossible to obtain for Jose..... I really cannot believe Im reading that people thought we played good football with Rafa...

Epl CMs mostly suck, so KDB might have a chance in 4-3-3 CM, but not confident in 4-2-3-1..As Toronto mentioned, I didnt think it would be possible to be worse than Mata defensively, however, KDB might be that.... People go pass him as if he isnt even on the pitch and as a cm, especially against good counter teams, you can imagine what the game plan would be against us..... 13m is the magic number I say....

Within a few years, every club will be owned by billionaires... Im surprised Bill gates didnt buy one yet.
-
why do we insist on loaning players............ Unless Hazard or oscar is eventually going to leave. Dont they have Sam as their Cam?
-
Schaun mer mal
-
No to hulk......

Well, if you compare our current CM crop to Ki, I think he is an improvement.. However, if you want Mourinho first stint quality CM, than I agree. This idea of chelsea quality is pretty ridiculous.. Also, the notion that people here actually watch Ki play as well.. When is the last time Chelsea had a relevant CM? I guess Man United has man united quality with players like a 40 year old giggs, +30 scholes, wes brown, park ji sung, oshea, cleverly, etc..... You know the team that has ranked higher than Chelsea for how many years now.. Young kids dont understand you need squad players to boost a team, not so called star players playing bench/minor roles... Chelsea squad players I see so far are only Cahill and Moses..
-
Eto is +30. Oscar is barely in his 20s... So, Mata was clearly being rested for Arsenal, but not Hazard or Oscar??? More like Mourinho wanted to give KDB a run and use both Oscar and Hazard as his emergency subs, rather than Mata..
-
We need Luiz as long as we have the same Cms on our squad... It's one thing if we had good cms, buts we dont... Therefore, Luiz is kind of necessary...
-
Willian/Schurrle, Oscar, Hazard, El Nino, Rambo, JT, Ivan, Lampard, Cahill, Cole, Cech prob. starters......... Good benchmark game to see how good both teams are...
-
Mata started cause Oscar was injured.... So, by your logic, Eto is not considered a first teamer cause Torres was injured, yet Mata is considered first team even though Oscar was injured??? Cech and Rambo are starting vs Arsenal..... I highly doubt Mourinho will play Hazard-Oscar-Mata next week......
-
How was Mikel when he came to Chelsea??? (first came) Was he always this static of a player or are those the managers direct instructions?
-
I dont like or agree with Mourinho since his stint with Madrid... However, a blind man can see this team isnt his kind of team....... yet. With the amount of young talent he has available, he really needs to start looking at his options and moving forward if he doesnt think they are his kind of players...... He really needs to bring in mourinho type players and sell the rest.....
-
Have you been followin Chelsea??? Eto is consider as much as a first choice as Torres... Why is it logical to assume MAta is starting vs Arsenal??? I can understand Rambo being rested.. Mata barely plays this year.... First choice, YEAP!
-
LOl. Eto not first choice anymore??? Always making excuses.. We just lost cause we sucked in the second half and OT. Had Oscar-Rambo or the others been playing, I guaranteed you would of said, o its just the CC comp...... Who exactly is first choice over Willian/ Schurrle.. I wanna see you say Mata/KDB....
-
you just said first team... . Willian or Schurrle not first team.... Eto-Ba not first team.... Wait, is that why we lost to Swansea in the same competition last season as well...
-
How did he flop after Swansea? he played as many games as everyone else did with a last minute transfer......Guess what, how many games did Chelsea beat Swansea City last season??? YEAP THATS right... Luiz or Cahill. Eto. Willian-Schurrle. Lampard Cole-Dave That sure counts to 2...
-
He's playing at Sunderland cause he chose Landrup over Rogers and Arsenal had the whole incident with Park Chu Young.... I like how now its Chelsea B team... When all we do is complain about the starting 11....
