  2. Watch Mikel, Victor and Omeruo playing in Nigeria v Italy live now on firstrow scores2-1 half time. So far Mikel and Victor make Rossi and Ballotelli look like kids.
  3. Congrats to the Chelsea quartet of OMikel, Omeruo and Moses for helping Nigeria secure a 5th World Cup qualification with Moses scoring from the spot kick for the first of 2 nil win over Ethiopia.
  4. Congrats to the Chelsea quartet of OMikel, Omeruo and Moses for helping Nigeria secure a 5th World Cup qualification with Moses scoring from the spot kick for the first of 2 nil win over Ethiopia.
  5. Best of luck to Omeruo, Moses and Mikel as Nigeria plays Ethiopia today 3pm on BT Sports
  6. We used to win this easily till Terry v Wayne Bridge: the incident fired them up and we've not been able to have it easy ever since.
  7. Mikel dealt with Yaya, Kalou, Tiote and Yes Drogba at the AFCON in January, this is a team game everyone is required to put in their best from keeper to striker. whenever the team plays like this Mikel always stands out: Nou camp 2009, Munich final, Spurs away last season, Everton this season despite the loss due to loss of concentration. Mikel will never be accepted by all but whilst he still plays for CFC we should support and hope he becomes a better player which he definately can. I am yet to see a stronger physical Midfielder in this clime.
  8. http://youtu.be/1ftg9THp3ek: The Golden Generation of the Cote d'Ivoire finally came to the end of the road as they were usurped by Stephen Keshi's plucky Super Eagles at the King Bafokeng Stadium. Nigeria took the lead against the lethargic Elephants through a wonderful Emmanuel Emenike strike, before Cheik Tiote equalised with a header just after the interval. In an engrossing second half, Sunday Mba wrote his name in Naija folklore by finishing a hopeful run with a deflected finish past Boubacar Barry. For the first half of action it seemed like the Super Eagles had turned back the clock and rolled back the years. Gone was the timidity and the nervousness that had characterised their dull group encounters, the side looked bold and brave. In comparison, the Ivorians, so well-fancied before the tournament, looked laborious and lethargic – their casual approach matching the unprofessional nicknames on some of their shirts. With the interval approaching, Nigerian enterprise eventually paid off. Soon after Yaya Toure had been forced into a shoulder block to curtail Moses’s advance, the Super Eagles won a free kick 30 yards out. John Obi Mikel laid the ball off, and Emenike, with the weight of 19 years of anguish behind him, fired the ball over the wall into the goal. Perhaps Copa Barry in the Ivorian net should have done better, but few in Nigeria cared, as the finish sparking furious celebration among their massed ranks. The euphoria of the first half was not to last into the second. Moments after Salomon Kalou had been cautioned for simulation in the Nigerian box, Didier Drogba was brought to ground by Efe Ambrose. It was the Super Eagles’ moment to look inert, and they were promptly punished as Cheick Tiote headed the ball past Enyeama. The keeper promptly remonstrated with his static defence, but the damage had been done. The second half unrolled with both sides looking to attack, and creating a number of opportunities. Elderson went close with a blocked shot when Moses was perhaps better placed. The miss threatened to be costly, that was, until Sunday Mba decided to introduce himself into the game's narrative. Running boldly at the Ivorian defence, the striker, included at the expense of the likes of Peter Odemwingie and Obafemi Martins, sent a deflected shot up and over Boubacar Barry. It prompted ecstatic scenes in Rustenburg, as Stephen Keshi's men played out a nervy final ten minutes as the Ivorians pushed. John Obi Mikel must get a mention for a terrific tackle on Traore, but the whole team will be heralded as heroes after a glorious victory and well-deserved progression. They now face Mali in the semi-final on Wednesday.
  9. watch Mikel Obi, Victor Moses and Omeruo play for Nigeria against Ethiopia 2pm today on BTsport or first row
  10. 2-0 game over another clean sheet
  11. JM brings a little bit extra to the team, I know its only pre season but the way the team press the opposition high up is impressive. A little bit of confidence in the strikers will make a lot of difference.
  12. Another Turkish side Trabzonspor have joined their rivals Galatasaray in the race for Mikel Obi: http://www.punchng.com/sports/trabzonspor-join-race-for-mikel/
  13. Ben Watson of Wigan just scored a similar goal to Drogbas Munich goal about the same time too. Wonder if Drogba put a patent on his.
  14. Super Frankie thanks for doing this in my lifetime, I will be saying to my Grand Children I saw most of those 203 goals live. The future definitely is Hazard but we have to buy Benteke forget Falcao this guy is Drogba reincarnate (without the dive) same attitude. Pair him with Lukaku and it will be like the Year Eidur and Hasselbank notched 50 goals. Courtois Azi Cahill Iva Bertnard Oscar Mata Ramire Hazard Benteke Lukaku I can see this team dominating the EPL and the headlines "3 Musketeers and 2 Beasts"
  15. Benteke such a similar personalty to Drogba
  16. Lampard History made, now play for the team
  17. Iva for JT now can't afford a 2nd red card
  18. If Man City drop points tonight we might well come 3rd
  19. Interesting that Mikel gets criticised so much but when he is not in the team the same critics raise the roof.
  20. A draw tomorrow and Wednesday still takes us to 3rd, cant see AFC taking full points from Wigan and Newcastle, also Spurs have Stoke and sunderland. If we get 8 points from 12 available points we are good however 4 from from OT and Spurs might just guarantee 3rd imo
