As much as I'd love to see him go, I cant see Grunt being given the sack. He's just been given a new 4 year deal and although that doesnt mean much nowadays its obvious that RA intends to stick with him. Although, there was a rumour doing the rounds that the 4 year deal is going to be paid in full come the summer and he'll move back upstairs when a more suitable Manager becomes available. Probably more in hope than a rumour

He's really impressed me...although his defensive side to his game needs a lot of work, going forward he really compliments the attacking down the left from Cole/Bridge and gives a bit of balance to the attack when he plays.

Would be a good purchase if it came off.......I hope this doesnt turn into another "Alves saga" where they keep increasing the money they're after before screwing us over

Well tbh, Even when he tries to do things right he's wrong. Grunt sould have got tore into Riccy for that tackle. Our injury situation is already laughable and with several players going off to the ACON and now these suspensions hanging over us its left us very vulnerable. I like Riccy a lot, but theres a time and a place to put your arm round a player and defend him, and that wasnt one of them. He went in with both feet off the ground. Theres is no excuse for what he done

Personally....if we go 4-4-2 and play Pizarro alonside Sheva instead of Sheva being on the left or right of a 3 man attack or up front on his own with wingers supporting him we will continue to see more of what Sheva produced yesterday.All of our goals came from playing through Villa and not from out wide.....Surely that should be some indication to Grunt that we need to play 4-4-2 while Drogba is missing to get the best out of Sheva and not push the ball wide as often as we do.

I wish I could be as optimistic as yourself.

The ref was going to play on until the Linesman ( ref's assistant my arse) started waving his flag like some epileptic on the touchline. It was only when he went over to consult him did he decide to send Ash off. How many more times do things such as this have to continue to happen before they take 2 seconds to speak to the 4th official who can look at a monitor and inform the ref of the correct decision to make after seeing a replay. For the sake of 5-10 seconds would put an end to all this madness which we see every single week. Its not rocket science FFS.

You make your own luck by making inspirational substitute decisons and using your tactical know how on the pitch..... You dont get it by standing on the touchline continiously slapping your forehead hoping that something will pop into the empty space which is supposed to contain your brain.

It worries me that we have to look to other teams to start doing us favours so early on in the season. It just goes to show you how far we have come under the guidance of the "Normal One"

Newcastle shouldnt realy cause us too many problems. We should be pissing all over them, but with our situation as it is atm I feel we are going to be right up against it over the coming weeks. They will come and have a go at us as they know we are leaking goals left right and centre. that could play into our hands....hopefully. Big Sam has got Newcastle playing a bit like Bolton and one of their strong points of their game is their set pieces. That is a bit worrying considering we will be playing with 3 out of 4 first team defenders missing and Ben Haim has been a bit hit and miss and doesnt fill you with confidence. We'll have to use Ballack and Mikels height at corners etc...to compensate for the loss of JT and Riccy. I'd go 4-4-2 again to see if this was a flash in the pan from Sheva or maybe the start of him turning the corner
