I agree that he makes errors but he more commonly makes errors when he is played on the wing. When playing centrally he doesn't try any extravagant skill or crosses and his passing is close range, which he is good at. Marin has had only a couple of good seasons, he was poor at Bremen last year. If played in the right position Ramires is consistent, Marin has to prove himself at Chelsea also, although I'm sure he could do a great job on the right wing. He is still yet to prove himself in my opinion.

I can't believe he still plays for England after all the FA has done to him. And yet the British press still has the nerves to portray him as immoral character.

I don't think you can rely on Talksport, they spout so much crap on that show that they keep the sewage system in business.

A 4-2-1-3 could work for us. Oscar plays this way for Brazil. We could have Mata left and Hazard right, with them interchanging with Oscar and switching wings when they wish. I reckon this would create good fluidity, I'm not sure how it would work in defence, but if we have two decent CMs that will sit back like Sandro does for Brazil it should work.

I dont understand why people are debating the outcome of the season after three games. Its not worth looking into until about december really.

This is exactly what Fergie is trying to replicate at United this season. Do you remember the 07/08 season when United had Rooney, Tevez, and Ronaldo? These three were formidable in the 4-2-1-3 as they were able to naturally interchange with eachother and be at ease anywhere along the front line. With Scholes in behind them they had someone to pull the strings and deliver killer passes. United wanted Eden Hazard for this very reason, with himself, Rooney, and Robin van Persie they could recreate this, with Kagawa playing infront of the two protecting the back four. There was a reason they pushed for Sneijder so much, but now they have Kagawa instead.
This would be very interesting to see with our team, and could be key in seeing Oscar thrive. On paper it would look promising, but obviously we are talking a bit down the line here.

Yeah we've just got to see what Robbie has a plan B if we're fucked in certain games. He didn't show much of a plan B against Athletico Madrid. The 3-4-3 would suit our defense if we played Cahill - Branna - Luiz (since Branna is the slowest we'll put him in the middle), it just doesn't make sense where Moses, Oscar, Hazard, Mata, Ramires etc would all slot in. Also the full backs lol...
I would like to see Oscar play slightly deeper kind of like Xavi Alonso but I don't see it happening too soon, unless we do what United did to Anderson and what we did to Mikel, try to change him far too soon, hope not though as it would totally kill any potential like it did to Anderson and Mikel...

We have quite a few versatile options, its one of the things i love about the players we have been getting in. Its even been suggested that Marin could do a job as a pivot holding midfielder and De Bruyne seems to be able to player anywhere other than defence, he was used as a false nine by bremen the other day. I would lie to see Oscar beef up a bit and maybe play in a similar manner to Xabi Alonso, he's got the vision to do it. Maybe a 3-4-3 would suit our defence we could have ivan right, cahill centre and luis left ( as this would probably happen in a couple of years when Terry is likely to have retired), We've got a lot of options right now and for the future.

Yeah we need more proper wide players (like Moses).
Part of Barca's success was that they had these sorts of combinations on their wings over the last 5 years: Cuenca/Pedro, Cuenca/Tello, Pedro/Villa, Pedro/Sanchez, Sanchez/Villa, Messi/Henry etc. Also their brilliant midfield helped but yeah we'll leave it there haha.
They would stretch play drawing players out and either cut inside and deliver a pass/killer pass for someone to score/assist/create a change for another player. When Henry and Eto'o were still at the club, Messi would cut in, leave space for Dani Alves on the right and they would cross it in for Eto'o and Henry to score goals from high crosses, it became predictable though as they got knocked out the CL by Inter over two legs due to great defending and tactical research on their play so Guardiola changed it the following season and used a false 9.
They still use their wingers very well, working the ball from each side of the pitch then trying to get Messi/Iniesta/Fabergas in between the lines or using Messi as a false 9 draw players out and then the wingers become more inverted forwards who run in behind.
If Pep came here with this current squad of players I believe he wouldn't do too well trying that sort of tactic. Even when Barca resigned Fabergas you could tell he wouldn't fit the teams current set up, was a bit like what Gylfi Sigurdsson should of been like at Swansea but somehow he managed to play in their front 3 rather than their midfield 3 for some games. Yeah probably didn't need to write all of that but I did anyway.......
Our defense right now is laughable sometimes and if we use a 3-4-3 or whatever it would be even more laughable as Barcelona were fucking shit at defending using it so I'm imagining we'd be terrible as our defensive is in tatters with a 4 man back four....
Anyway it would be interesting to see where everyone would play in a 3-4-3 or even a 4-3-3 now due to the options we have. Oscar is a bit versatile and could easily be passed as a central midfield and an attacking midfielder.

Im not sure how effective Ramires would be as a wing back and i haven't seen enough of Azpilicueta to comment on him. We would have major problems with width, we haven't really had any width since we sold Robben and Duff. I'd imagine Pep could get it to work, he is a very good coach and obviously understands the game a lot more than myself, but i still reckon we would get overrun in defence against better teams if we played like this. I hoping RDM is still our coach this time next year as well, first because i like the guy and secondly because it would most likely mean that we have done well.

True, Romeu could be like Busquets for us though as hes adept in playing CB as well as CDM and has similar characteristics in terms of his distribution and movement. Ramires could be used as a wing back but so could Azpilicueta, as could Cole and Bertrand on the left. The front three would probably consist of Mata, Hazard and Torres but in a 2-1 shape with Mata and Hazard more inside forward/central attacking midfielders. I think the only problem with this formation for Barca was that they found it harder to break through due to their lack of width. Same would be with us especially if we used the 3-4-3 with the midfield diamond rather than a flat 4 including 2 wing backs and 2 central midfielders. Still would be interesting to see how it would work if we tried it. If Pep is appointed our coach at one point I'm sure the 3-4-3 with a flat midfield 4 and the 3-4-3 with a midfield diamond would be used. He tinkered with it at Barcelona a lot.

I guess a 4-3-2-1 could be seen as a 4-2-1-2-1 or something like that, which could suit us well. Moses would do well in a 4-2-1-3 and i reckon sturridge could as well, similar to Anelka in our old 4-3-3. I see Marin more as a inside player, he wasn't at his best as a LW for Bremen, I thought he played RW a few times in pre season too. There is no way we have the players for a 3-4-3, I can only think of Bertrand who could do a job as a sort of wing back, and we don't have a player like Busquets or Mascherano that can drop into the back four.

The lies we tell to women to convince them that gyrating up against a pole is good for them. Make sure you oil up, can get bad friction burns off those poles.

If hes put in to a deeper role it won't be too bad but it restricts him roaming for the ball, moving in to space further forward and linking the advanced midfield and strikers. Hes capable of playing a much more restricted role but he would need to add to his weight slightly (say what you want but he is incredibly lightweight, more lighter looking than Mata, Silva, Nasri etc) and improve his tackling (despite being quite willing to get stuck in as evident against Athletico). I don't think his potential will be ruined, well I'm hoping not anyway. If he is ruined then fuck I will be gutted, see him as a future World Cup winner. He can be that good.
