  1. LOL They were, they both come from Sao Paulo!
  2. I dont think so, I view it as a huge mistake. Mourinho had a shopping list that he handled Florentino Perez and in that list there was Lucas, Modric and a Goalkeeper. Instead of receiving those two names, he only got Modric and didnt get rid of Kaka. Spanish media is saying (and this is everywhere, so it might be true) that Mourinho tried to send a message to Perez, saying it was his fault not to buy him a backup GK and Moura. Also, he does not like the fact Casillas is friends with some of Barcelona`s players (rumors that he asked Alonso, Iker and Ramos to stop talking with them because it could soft their derby performance). He has divided the dressing room. There are the ones who follow him and the ones who dont. This is heavely due because Real Madrid`s players are a bunch of egoists that hate each other, so when there is a fight Mourinho usually takes part, hurting the other player. In resume, I believe he has one hope of succeeding and avoid the sack, LA DECIMA!
  3. I am not disputing the fact Benitez can win big matches, everyone can excell their game to high levels. Rafa is good enough to lead a great team, he has the necessary IQ. However, Benitez is not a manager who we can place as one of the best of all time. Mourinho will certainly be remembered as one of the best (specially if he wins his 3rd UCL). Jose Mourinho >>>> Rafael Benitez
  4. What? Why dont you quote the entire post, not only what matters to you? I dont understand, Mourinho and Fergunson (who is also a better manager) need to outclass Benitez the whole time to be considered better managers? Also, the hated he received has a reason, he said stupid things that he DID mean. On the other hand, the immense love is not justified, it is not like we are trashing everyone (ManCity, Fulham and Corinthians were the most difficult opponents and he did not win).
  5. No, it`s not. Benitez was the better manager when facing us at Uefa Champions League, I am not arguing that. What I am saying is that overall (qualities and weakness), Mourinho is a much better manager than Benitez and that is not even up for debate. Again, that does not mean Rafa cant do a great job at Chelsea. I know it is a team sport, we lose together and we win together. Nevertheless, you cant lose control of a game the way he did at West Ham and CWC if you are to be placed amongst the best. The explosion (not talking about you) of love Benitez has been granted because we destroyed some shit teams is nonsense. His mistakes at Fulham, West Ham and CWC are just as outstanding as his wins.
  6. "What do you need to do to prove you're a better coach than someone, other than beating them in the biggest games?" Tell me what that means...
  7. THANK YOU! I have wasted 10+ posts trying to say that!
  8. Benitez did an excellent job against Chelsea in all 3 knock-out stages. He won 2 of them (1 was robbed and the other was on penalties). Also, just look at their carrers and how successfull each has been (I do not mean trophies). You are way out of line saying Rafa is a better coach than Mourinho. It is like saying RDM is better than Pep because he won against Barcelona...
  9. Yes, nothing compared to Mourinho! Just because he beat us in the semifinal (the other doesnt count as it was robbed), does not make him a better coach. Again, Rafa is a good manager, but not top class.
  10. Yeah, I do think @super_frank8 posts are a bit long and pationate (he could do them in 800 words instead of 1100), but if he thinks it is necessary to be somewhat repetitive to make his opinion clear, I dont see a problem. He has some valid points and just because some members are lazy to read and counter argument, they think they have the right to call him by names.
  11. Anything specific or just got into reality?
  12. LOL Rafa is a good coach, but nothing compared to Mourinho or other very top manager. Add to that the fact he is hated (for the right reasons) and Jose is worshiped, it makes a very uneven fight!
  13. So, basically you just copied my post at Mourinho Topic.
  14. At least Bayern fans did not commit suicide! 5 thousand people died in Rio in 1950... There are some other examples as well: Greece 2004, Roma 1984, etc.
  15. Some memories: - I got in Munich one day prior to the game, so the city was still empty. I remember going to the UCL Plaza and a very sexy blonde woman was giving away our flags! - When I woke up on May 19th, Ballack was in the same hotel! - I remember Bayern fans moking us at Marienplatz, they were up 10/1 but we still managed to do a lot of noise. - The Munich Police did a special task force to prevent fight in the tube, so there was only CFC fans traveling to the stadium. Loudest place I have seen our fans, amazing! - Liquidator at Allianz Arena prior to the kick off, fantastic! - The vast majority at the stadium was Bayern, but they seemed very casual, because we were the loudest until Muller`s goal. - Drogba`s goal was amazing, but everyone got way more happier when Cech got Robben`s penalty. I dont know why, but the joy on everyone`s face was absurd. I guess we knew that we were going to win it at that time. - Drogba`s penalty was insane. I saw fear and ansiety and hope, but then everyone went nuts!!!!! - Blue is the Colour at the end... :blue scalf:
  16. Maybe you do respect and understand them, maybe I just got over the top with the discussion, I dont know! One thing though... You are confusing the cultural aspect I mentioned. I said that no abroad fan will fully have the same vision and feeling a British Londonist Chelsea Fan has. I have made very clear it does not make you a better fan, it just make you a different fan. For someone to trully experience it, you need to grow being a part of it. For isntance, only the ones who frequently go to the pubs on Fulham Road, travel with the team and participate and live Chelsea on a daily basis can grasp that sensation. It happens with any culture, anywhere in the world. Another example, you will never understand Carioca`s way of life (Rio de Janeiro): Samba, Carnival, Beach, Footvolley, Feijoada on Saturdays, Favelas, Steakhouses, etc. You simply wont, you can learn as much as you want, you will only understand it once you live in that routine for a long time. Even I, who is a Brazilian and live close to Rio dont quite get it. That was all I said, you have to be part of the group to fully and trully understand how it feels and what it means. I never meant to downgrade or disrespect you. I just want some people to be more sensible and less of warriors, that cant see that things are not black or white. Sorry! Nonetheless, this conversation is getting off-topic, let just finish it here!
  17. No, you dont understand! If you did understand, you wouldnt write some of the things you did and you would not try to convince them. What you are trying to argue is that it is smarter and better for the team to get behind the manager (whoever he is). Well, let me tell you that the same people who boo Benitez know it. What I wasnt able to grasp at the begining (and now I do) is that the bashing is all about the heart, not the head. The criticism of Benitez is not solely on the way he downgraded us, it is greater than that. It is very loud way (the strongest they found) to demonstrate their upsetment and to make a very clear statement - that their feelings wont be treated like shit. The ultimate goal they have is to be able to have a voice in the decisions made by our Board, they want their wills to be (at least) taken into consideration. RDM sack and Rafa apoitment is only what ignited what have been some dispointments added all together (RDM, Torres, Benitez, Lampard, Cole, Drogba, Wilkins, Mourinho, etc). People just want to be sure we wont be treated like shit again. Some will say it is radical and what they really want is to get rid of Roman, global exposure, expensive flops, etc. That they want to return being a traditional London club. I say this is bullshit! Again, I am not is saying Benitez is the worst manager ever and he is the source of everything bad that happened, but he also is not the only reason for our latest results. I posted that if it was for him to lose CWC, why not let RDM have a chance and sack him after a possible failure? Also, I have made it very clear since he first signed that I will always hate him, but I admited he was the best available option and he has the credentials to possibly succeed. I think it is pretty possible to get behind the team, even accept he did a great job and still want him to fuck off. You say you understand, but you quote me with some arguments I didnt use. The point is I dont agree with the booing, I would never do such act and I do think they are harmful in some ways. However, I dont try to convince the ones that do it. I know it ruins the home atmosphere (for the players) and it makes it easier for the opposition, but if we achieve a bigger voice at the club, it will be all worth it. I dont think you are less of a Chelsea fan, but you are not someone who fully experience it to get the sense of how shit treatment our club gives its fans really is. I am in no better position either, but I dont judge them. That is my whole point, if you dont fully understand the ones who boo Rafa, dont get involved and dont criticize. I am not asking you to agree or to boo (I wont), just have some respect. The difference is that I get why they do it and respect their opinion.
  18. Clearly did not get what I was saying... If one really wants to learn and try to understand the other side, one needs to start looking for a logical and reasonable answer to why some of our fans would do bash Benitez. When I say I do understand how they feel, I am actually saying I accept how they feel. Our hardcore fans are the foundation of Chelsea and they have more right to claim this club than a Brazilian, Scotish and Ireland. If fans at SB feel the Board is trolling with their dignity and pride by apointing a Loserpool Fan, they have the right to do whatever they believe will make Roman hears them. Again, I personally wouldnt do it, but I get it.
  19. People actually have dignity, something way more important than winning.
  20. You dont have the right because you dont understand them. I have heavily criticized them for booing Rafa and after talking with our hardcore fans and listening to some fancasts, I was able to get a sense of how they felt. I still wouldnt boo any manager or player, but now, I understand the ones that do. I was man enough to recognise my mistake and apologise for the memeber I had a discussion about it (the boo effect). Like it or not, this football club belongs to the traditional british fans that have lived and breathed Chelsea for many years and trully experience being a Blue Londonist. Only they know how it hurts to see a Loserpool "legend" who honestly meant those horrible phrases about CFC being at the sideline of Stamford Bridge. It does not mean they are better fans or anything, please no. What I am saying is that we have to understand their point of view, because if everything falls apart, they are the ones who will hold the club together. So, until we accept that and experience it, we have no right to criticize them!
  21. I am not saying it is solely Benitez fault, but at the specific game in CWC, he was terrible and people must not forget that. Rafa had one of his worst ever game and I (as a fan who wanted the trophy) wont forgive him. Some players were nonexisting just like him. The most important part of a coach`s job is to prepare the players for the game, both mentally and physically. he didnt do it in any way. However, Rafa had an excellent game today and he deserves credid. He has improved our defense by a mile, he seems to understand the double pivot role really well and he makes Torres a better player. All of these qualities must be brought up just like his mistakes. If he continues to do a good job (although it did take some bad results for him to do so), I will be the first to recognise. When he first arrived and we drew at SB with Mancity, I thought he would do a great job. Things changed when the wins didnt come and we lost CWC, at that time his impact had been mostly negative. Now, if we continue getting better and winning, he will leave us with a positive record. I have no shame in changing my opinion or recognising a mistake. I have said it more than a dozen times, Benitez will forever be a FSW but it doesnt exclude the fact he was the best available manager. He is a good tactitian and little by little he is improving our team. However I will always be gutted by his stupid performance at CWC, I wont be able to forget my hate towards him, but that wont stop me from praising him when he deserves it. You (RyanDavidson) have no right to criticize the memebers who bash Benitez because you are just as biased and one sided as "us".
