  1. What people cant seem to understand is that in the first two World Cups that he won, Brazil wasnt the force it is now. We had come from a shameful 2-1 defeat in 1950 and our team was pretty average, I mean, it wasnt the underdog but it wasnt the favourite. Just like Messi`s Argentina, it isnt the best team but no one will be shocked if they win it. No one can argue Messi is a girl when we look at his performances at WC and Copa America. Just because you dont rate international football, it doesnt mean it is not important. English are very indiferent when it comes to their national team, but you are the exception (Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Hollands, Brazilians and Argentineans all care about their teams). I agree that for 4 years everyone only worries about club football (and for the right reasons), but when the WC arrives, the world simply stop to watch it (just like the Olympics). It is still the most prestigious tournament, not as much as 50 years ago (definetly agree), but still the creme de la crem. Ballon d'Or only compares present players, it is not an argument. Pele was banned from a lot of individual prizes because he would win it everytime, so Messi does not impress by winning "Best Players Award".
  2. It has not! World Cup is UCL without the possibility of super teams with great chemestry, all of the players are there (even the ones that arent in Europe), there are not many chances to win it, neutral stadiums, biggest world wide crowd (everysingle football fans watch it, cant say that about UCL). All of the above make it way more challenging and when I say "select group of player", I mean the ones that we considered great and have made a super impact in their titles.
  3. A M A Z I N G Where did you get it? (ordering mine right now, lol)
  4. It is not about being the best (which still is), it is about being in the same group of amazing players that have won it. One has to excel its game at the most to win it and they usually only have 3 or 4 chances of winning it. It is not like UCL where in one (of the many times you play it) year you can do a Liverpool or a Chelsea. Messi himself said a couple of times he wont settle until he wins it.
  5. We need to play some other time, my house was a mess! Brother, friends, gf, etc.... Having a fucking awesome house party today!
  6. Mate, get real, we dont get 5 min of stoppage time!
  7. Alright, fair enough! Does Brazil really have a professional team. Sure it isnt all amateur?
  8. TOO QUICK SPIKE, give me time to read it and correct the mistakes! I have not watched Pele play, but I have watched more than 40+ full games of him. International + Club = Full Career. You need both to judge who has the overall edge. Your hate for Pele should not be taken into consideration, only his professional achievements. Goals count when you recieve a post bashing them. Rugby has nothing to do with it and I dont care if Brazil even has a team.
  9. I will have to derail it... 1. Pele has 1208 goals (it counts firendlies), but it is not some shit ones. Most of them are from regular firendlies against European Sides. it is not some shit goals he did with his friends at the park, lol. At the end of Messi career, playing in the most one sided league in history, he will still have less goals in more games than Pele (without the friendlies). 2. Brazil was not the team it is today, in 1958 and 1962, the squad was very average. Yes he was injured most of 1962, but he was still important. 1970, was pure class and it is much better than the team Messi plays. 3. Stats apart, he had the consistency of Messi with the brillance of Neymar. He could impact the game as much as Messi and still get the crowd going by waisting time doing magical tricks. 4. YOU HAVE TO WIN WC TO BE CONSIDERED THE GREATEST! It is the most prestigous event in International Football, only happens once every 4 years, you need to be on top of your form in a very specific time and overcome difficult events, Messi hasnt even scored his first goal yet (if I am right). I won't even touch Copa America... 5. Argentina shit? Please, look at their team (2010) and say they were worse than Germany to lose 4-0. If Messi had balls when it comes to World Cup, he would have won the game for them, just like Maradona and Pele (1958 and a portion of 1962) carried their teams. 6. Messi did 91 goals and it is amazing, well Pele`s 77 was made in fewer games, making the goals per game higher, OUCH. 7. Messi has 2 UCLs, 2 CWC and 5 La Liga. Pele has 2 Libertadores, 2 Intercontinental Cups and 6 Brasileiros. 8. Don't go over the bullshit of Pele never went to Europe because Brazilian League in the 60s and 70s were pure class. 9. Barcelona`s team helps him a lot as well, they are simply fantastic and he benefits from it (Santos was good too, but not as good as Barça). 10. As of right now, Messi is not even better than Zidane. He has the potential to be the greatest, but he must win WC (even better if in 2014) and continues with his from until the last day of his career (he cant have a Ronaldinho). People will respond saying titles and goals dont count to see who has the edge, but just a little reminder that IF Didier Drogba hadn't scored those two goals in Munich, he wouldnt be chosen as the best CFC player of all time...
  10. I often agree with you, but I think you are wrong in this one. I think it is not the price that determines the player, but the other way around. I mean, someone pays 30mi for a player because they actually think they are worth it, so if a player goes for a high transfer fee, he has already proved he can do something good (Torres apart, but he is the exception of the exception, biggest flop in history). For me, that is where the expectation comes from... Moses and Oscar wasnt the best of examples either, I personally had more expectations (this season) for Victor than Oscar, I dont know about other members. Oscar is not playing what he did in Brazil, you have not seen the real Oscar (not that he is Messi or anything, but he is way better than what he has shown in EPL) and people still identify him as world class. He will need at least 1 more year to show his true potential, Moses is much more ready. Both can ball and Moses (just like Dave) was a fucking bargain, but I trully think Oscar is the better player. I blieved it is pretty acceptable the difference in hype and price for both of them.
  11. But Villa would get a good amount of games still. Look at RVP and Hernandez... I just disagree with the 3 year deal part, I want him for 18 months.
  12. I literally hate you now, you just made me buy (as of right now) Lego LOTR and Civilization V, both 75% Off.
  13. They didnt have much games I liked, although I wanted to buy them all anyways. I have only bought 2 games...
  14. I wish I had homies like him.
  15. LOL Tomorrow they will have a giant sale (90% Off) and you will miss it all!
  16. 4-4-2: Cech, Azipilicueta, Kompany, Vertonghen, Baines, Valencia, Mata, Cazorla, Bale, Michu, RVP
  17. Rooney does not deserve to be there, let alone twice!
  18. No, definetly not what I meant. I was just saying, dont know them really well so you must be right!
  19. They are all LW in FIFA. I don't like Barcelona, so I don't really know them that well (I still watch their games though). You have a much better knowledge than I do, so I can't argue. EXACTLY! Although, what I understood from his post was that if Negredo comes and start scoring for fun, there is no need for a big striker to come. I completely disagree. I mean, I would love for us to buy a 10million striker that scores 20-30 goals/season, but we still need a big name to at least rotate with him. Your example of RVP and Hernandez is spot on. I always believe a squad must have the perfect blend of start power and small names, only good cheap players dont work (NewCastle) and only big names neither (Real Madrid).
  20. So simple and so easy to see. We are CFC, a club that since the begining for the century is fighting for the best positions in every tournament it plays, we need the best striker we can find to continue to lead us to more victories. We are not Newcastle or West Ham, who can gamble 10million on a player and give him 1-2 seasons to see if he is good enough for the team. Look at Manure, they had Berbatov, Rooney and Hernadez to lead their attack. It is good enough isnt it? NO. SAF knew that for them to maintain their lead he needed not only to buy a super striker, but to steal him from his rivals. He bought RVP and look at the difference. Just like Barcelona a few years ago, they had Pedro, Villa and Iniesta for the same position, but they went after Alexis Sanches. Same as Bayern, but in a much smaller scale, they could just stick with Mario Gomez, but they went for Mandzukic. Etc... Even if you don't agree, don't fool yourself thinking that if Negredo arrives scoring 20-30 goals, Roman will give up on Falcao/Cavani. One will still come in a bombastic transaction and the manager will have pressure to give him enough playing time.
