Only if the striker X is better than Lukaku and Ba, which isnt the case with anyone besides Cavani/Rooney/Falcao/Lewandowski...
-
Not really, we will play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3, systems that use only 1 striker! Having Lukaku, Ba and New ST is totally unecessary and one will Always be unhappy with playing time...
-
LOL! But it is true, if we are going to buy a striker just for the sake of it, lets reacall Lukaku! I only want a new striker if he is one of the 4 big options. I dont want Higuain, Soldado, Martinez, Gomez, etc. Lukaku is just as good as is free!
-
If Falcao, Cavani and Lewandowski arent available, we should just recall Lukaku!
-
And as much as I hate to be wrong (which doesnt happen very often, lol), I hope you are right!

Because I am a lazy fucker who dont give a shit if people will agree with me or not! :tophat: In fact, I have presented all my facts in one of the articles/topics you made about our youth academy once, and if I recall correctly, you agreed with me. There is a difference between agreeing to give them a chance and craving things like: "this one will be English captain", "this will be as legendary as Drogba", "that one will be the new Romario", "the other will be the best keeper in our history", etc. We dont even know if they will be successful Chelsea players, let alone crave those ridiculous statements... I grew up inside a football club and lived youth academies throughout my (short) life. There are tons, tons of great players who become nothing. The very rare exceptions are the ones who go to become top players (specially in the same academy they were from). If you read our young players thread, there is a general consensus that every single one of them will become amazing Chelsea players. Sorry, but this is wonderland and all that will bring is disappointment. The types of post I read will only be justifiable once they are playing well for us. Right now, all they have earned is the right to be given decent playing time for our club, nothing more and nothing less. They will only earn my praises once they have actually done something! Also, I have never said it is wrong to get excited, I said it is ridiculous to get overly excited!

Than that is your opinion, not a fact! I dont think he is half as good in those attributes than you make him, that is my opinion, but just because of that, it doesnt make my point of view a fact!
-
Deserve a chance is one thing, overreacting their role in the upcoming season is overrating them! And no, I wasnt reffering to you directly, I was paraphrasing many things I have read in their threads and it happened that one of them was yours...

I dont think we will announce anything before our US Tour nor before La Liga is over...
-
Can you please explain me where the irony lies?
-
Dude, can you please stop insulting everyone? Every 10 posts you make, 9 are being disrespectful to some member in which you disagree with...

Hahaha, very true! There is also a general overreaction regarding our young players recently. People think everyone will become world class and they are already asking for Bake and Feruz to start getting playing time, Chalobah to become English captain, Josh to take part on the squad, KDB to be an undisputed regular starter, etc. They are all great (excellent, to be honest) promising players, but nothing more than that for now!
-
That is actually very true, but I never said Lukaku can't dribble at all, I just said he ain't as good as the very best! Also, I did say on my post that generally a striker doesn't get in too many dribble situations and because of that is not a huge downfall point (such as his first touch, lets say).

Is this supposed to mean anything?

Someone is looking for likes!

Dribbling is one of the most subjective aspects of football, it is by far the toughest to judge! Your comparison with speed is just plain ridiculous. In speed you have a time frame and a distance ran to put in statistics and there is no debate about it, it is all about numbers and there is no discussion. In what world does it compare to a dribbling quality debate? For starters, categorizing dribbling is hard enough. What is dribbling? Is it only the ability to get past defenders (meaning that a simple outrun is a dribble)? Or is it something else? Does it necessarily require tricks? Every possible definition you can come up with, I can give you 10 counter arguments... The only scenario in which it becomes easy to judge is when the dribbling skill is unanimously good or bad (Hazard and Mikel, for instance). All other levels of skills in between are debatable and different people see things in different ways, so just because someone disagrees with you, it doesn't mean you have watched him play the other hasn't watched anything! That alone is sufficient for you to see that there is no "FACT" when it comes to someone's opinion about a player's dribbling ability. So your opinion is not a fact nor is better than mine! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I will start by saying this is a debate about his dribbles and not about anything else. This will seem rhetorical, but I have already experienced many quotes tackling things I wasn't even talking about. I bet I would receive rage quotes about his great finishing/header, physical ability, pace, etc. Also, I do think he is a great talent, just not as amazing as people make him! Anyways.... I think Lukaku is good at getting past players when he uses his pace and physical attributes. He is awesome in infiltrations and through balls, but I dont think he is very good at tight spaces. For instance, he is tightly marked in the corner, I don't believe he has the talent and ball control (I don't mean they are bad, they are just not good enough) to get past them without losing possession or having to pass to someone. Now, that isn't a problem for a striker in general (because they are rarely in those situations), but if we are talking about him trying to be in that very top category of world class strikers, it becomes very important. Can you see Lukaku doing what Radamel Flacao did to Real Madrid defenders at Copa del Rey? I honestly can't! Torres (when he was still good) was a better dribbler than him, so is Aguero, Pato, Falcao, etc. That is what makes (or made) them different, what sets them apart from others! As I have already said, Lukaku has a better dribbling ability than most strikers. But we ain't comparing him to most strikers, we are comparing him with the best and he isnt as good as them...

I thought so too, but now you jinxed it!

Arrogancy at its best!
-
UEFA PROHIBITED BVB MOSAIC IN WEMBLEY!
-
I have watched enough of him, just because I have a different opinion than you, it doesn't mean I am the one who don't watch him and you are the one who does... Besides that, you are entitled to your opinion!
-
Yeah, definitely! When I say he will be a waisted talent on the pivot, I mean he will have the game less in his hands, whereas he totally controls the game and rythm for Brazil. That doesnt mean he will do bad, it just means he will do less than what he can... I could be wrong though!
-
I like him very much, but I think he lost his rhythm after having to share playing time with Torres. I hope he starts the next season with the right foot!
-
I think he would be a waisted talent on the pivot at a 4-2-3-1, however, he would be the best CM in the world on a Mourinho's 4-3-3! :blue scalf:
-
Very late to the party, but he had an amazing final and was definitely our hero! WHAT A HEADER!
-
I will stick to my prediction although I will get slaughtered because of it...Lukaku will never be our first option striker, he will become a very good second option, but I doubt he will ever be our senior main target man! For various reasons, but two at stand out for me: he aint a big marketing name (and we all know Roman likes them) and I am still not convinced about some of his abilities such as dribbling, passing and first touch. I think those two aspects will hunt him in his pursue to become our absolutely dominant striker... Having said that, it doesn't mean I want him to fail or that I wouldn't be happy to be wrong, it is just how I feel.I would renew his loan with West Bromwich, he is improving a lot there and we currently have way too many strikers for Lukaku to get a decent amount of playing time (considering we will most likely not sell Torres, but will still buy another big time striker on the market). After that, I would try to make sure he comes back and feels as comfortable as possible. All we got to do is have patience! Just to make clear, I dont think he will be our Drogba, but that doesnt mean I think he wont be good. In a shit comparison, he will be our Anelka (because he was a good player that was never our main option).
