  1. I presume this just a case of CTV having to pay for the rights to Sky's commentary. Can anyone confirm this?
  2. If he can cement somewhat of a first team place, this is a great move. Even better than staying in England at another Premier League club.
  3. Am I the only one who thinks people are resting for too much hope on Oscar's young shoulders? He looks great and all, but he's 20 and coming to a new continent. Usually in these cases the first season is a settling in period.
  4. I love how happy Lukaku was when Hazard missed, just so he wasn't the only one. Looks as if the great team spirit that has been so important will continue into this new season.
  5. Chelsea TV, for which you can usually find multiple streams.
  6. Brighton will be up for this, and our players will be looking at it as a warm-up game. Anyone expecting a thrashing will probably be disappointed.
  7. It's clear you don't like Mikel, we get it.
  8. Never nice to lose to anyone, but not shameful by any means. The progression is there and I'm optimistic about our chances of getting 4th next year (which should be the goal in my view). Hope we can smash a few past Brighton and get everybody on a high again!
  9. That doesn't account for the massive change in style.
  10. Because they aren't going for a squad overhaul and drastic change in philosophy. It takes time.
  11. Of course they haven't. It's pre-season, and it's those kind of unrealistic standards which are the cause of the anger around here from some members.
  12. Agreed. Some positives regardless of whatever the final results may be.
  13. That is not a comment of a Chelsea fan.
  14. It's been a very Mikel-type game - lots of short passing in and around the central area - a good platform for him.
  15. 0-0. Controlling possession, lacking creativity. Ignore the Johnny-come-lately total football demanders in this thread, it's been a generally okay performance so far.
  16. If Robbie plays the youngsters and they don't perform, people moan. If he plays established players instead, people moan.
  17. Pleased with the side RDM has picked, seems ideal for a late pre-season game. Good to see Lukaku getting a run in the side over this tour, he's still very rough around the edges but this is a good learning curve for him. Hoping for a Torres cameo goal.
  18. Stop acting like children, it's a friendly, and this is not the time to be talking about who is/isn't good enough. These games are about fitness, sharpness and building a team mentality. Just enjoy watching the team play.
  19. Really impressed with Oscar tonight. His passing was wonderful and he was constantly looking for space. My reservation was that he would be a little too lightweight, but I never saw that as an issue at all this evening. Delighted things are looking good in terms of him signing us. On a side note, anybody saying Neymar didn't play well must've been doing about 4 other things while watching the match. A player does not have to go on mazey dribbles or score every chance to show real quality.
  20. Carlos Alberto Parreira played a 4-6-0 formation with Brazil, does that means he's going to be our new manager too? Stop reading too much into things that aren't necessarily there.
  21. Agreed. If we can carry the flair from the first half and combine it with the solidity of the second, we're onto a winner.
  22. A bit cumbersome at times, but he held the ball up nicely and took both of his goals well. People need to remember this lad's age, he has time well and truly on his side and is a good prospect.
  23. Fernando must have loved what he saw last night in the first half. The fluidity of the attacks suit his style well, and he should be getting plenty of chances.
