  1. as always we have to win over them, the ref, the crowd and our own inability to hold a lead.
  2. but nothing to expect from a ref. wow game has kickstarted, what an amazing encounter this has become. need to "finish them off"
  3. and Mata with another stunner. we simply got quality
  4. epic how lamps outsprinted the 10 years younger cabaye there to win the fk. decent delivery too.
  5. this is harsh on us. penalty declined, only striker injured, 1-0 down and torres, not our day, nor season.
  6. Isn't that a penalty? Coloccini was nowhere near the ball, only hit bas face, of course it was not intentional but still a nasty foul.
  7. N'castle really get at us but tactically we are allright so far and let them run behind the ball. as long as we make the tempo we are fine
  8. But long term an injury to Mata would aggravate the situation even more. Mata is brilliant but as exhausted as he is right now, he is not half as effective as when fresh that is why he is always so much brighter in the earlier part of the season. Truth is we do not know exactly how our play would change in case we rest him and hand the playmaking duty to Oscar, we have more than one player able to create. We have been succesfull before Mata arrived and can also do without him. to some extent there always is s.o. to step up. We shall not waste his abilities by overusing him.
  9. what do you think of Nucastle French revolution? IMO the French league has proven to be the EPLs most reliable feeder league esp with the influx of physical, African-based mids and strikers and if I were in Newcastle's situation I'd probably also turn to Ligue 1 to grab some cheap quality players. Whether they can make a direct impact or not remains to be seen. I do not know all of their new signings, but Sissoko is a beast, very much like Yaya Toure or the Bison.
  10. I always tried not to judge Benitez by his public image and attempted to distinguish that from his ability as coach, but his lineup once again shows that he got neither clue nor the nuts for the job. I mean Bertrand and Mata???? Mata's tired as fuck and the more he plays gets more likely to pick up an injury, Bertrand was abysmal last game as was Oscar. One sometimes has to change a system that is not running. Alter the formation, put faith in Marin or whatever but try something that is not out of the text book which has won us nothing so far.
  11. does the transfer window close in 10 mins or 1 hour and 10 mins?
  12. I think there is a point about the question though. Lamps has taken and still takes most of our corners that is why he has only scored a few himself. Since the team has lost height in the last two seasons and with a decent corner kicker having been introduced in Mata, he now features more frequently inside the box. I know every single goal scored by Lamps for chelsea by heart. Here is a list all the goals he scored after corners: 1. 2002: his fifth goal for us, in the Fa cup against Norwich in his first season, was a tap in volley from a header by an other player after a corner 2. 2002 season, don't recall against whom but a volley after the ball was cleared out of the box after a corner. 3. 2002 against newcastle. classy volley from outside the box, exact same situation as above 4. 2003 vs arsenal, tap in lose ball after corner then he began to take the corners himself. 2007 ballack joined at took some corners at times 5. 2007 against tottenham, ball fell to him after after a knock down, strike from close range 6. 2010 against sunderland long ranger after cleared ball against sunderland 7. 2010 same against watford 8. 2011 same again, cant recall against whom. 9. 2013 direct powerful header after mata corner against reading Hope i did not forget one. It seems it was indeed his first direct header goal from a croner.
  13. Yeah...but would one really sacrifice one's career for maybe 40% more money while living at the arse-end of the world instead of the greatest city there is? There must be something else , probably personal to the moves. Coutinho really is interesting for the EPL. He failed another Top club, maybe liverpool might be just the right size for him.I think most of Brendan rodgers signings have been decent regarded individually but as a whole i do not get only buying young inexperienced attacking players....oh well we have been doing the same...good job then.
  14. ref inventing some gestures none has ever seen before.
  15. lol ivanovic telling turnbull loudly to let that ball run out. he probably was going to catch that outside the box or shit.
  16. oscar is the villain if this goes wrong and we got quite a habit of letting leads slip
  17. why the heck turnbull is off his line there??????? le fondre is never going to score from there if turnbull stays in goal
  18. akpan such a bastard oscar should really improve his finishing. nice work by benayoun though. technically he is apt.
  19. Benayoun is like a walking skeleton in a chelsea shirt.
  20. oh and yeah Lamps u legend. He does it all, one wonders why he does not take the corners himself, wel lhe can also score headers.
  21. this time oscar should have shot himself or passed earlier.
