he has always been quality and a perfect example that magicians do not need to be midgets who get bullied all the time and hence are useless as soon as their opponents are stronger and faster than them.

You certainly got a point, winning the EL is not really the glory we seek but we have nothing to do with the teams who have won this cup and simply shoudl try to add new trophies to our cabinet and many players surely would have this cup over a 5th Fa Cup. It would be an almighty shame to lose the 2nd place in uefa 5 year ranking to Germany even though ePL is still best, so whilst the EL has been a collecting platform for German teams in recent years hence giving them the opportunity to gain uefa points, we should now be the ones profiting from the ridiculous system that wins in the EL grant nearly as many points as wins in the CL.
-
IMO we should prioritize the EL over the FA Cup. We always win the FA Cup but we can complete the European Quadruple by winning the Europapokal, which has only been done by 3 teams so far. Of all teams in the EL only Atletico is better than us while in the Cup we got no chance against both Manchester teams.

Ref influenced the game slightly in Utds favour. Astonishing, this last corner could have decided it. Fair result in the end. Real had more, Utd the better chances.

When exactly has Rooney lost his pace?
-
de Gea is shit controlling his box, but his shot stopping and handling is excellent today

van Persie u dick

What a waste Kagawa has been at Utd, never should have left BVB. He is not made for fast paced, physical games as this one. That is why he is best in the Bundesliga, where he has time and a team set up for him. He was the best player in Germany, his departure handed Bayern the title, but in England he is mediocrity, has done nothing Utd couldn't do without.

I'd pick messi everytime , he can dribble past the entire opposition and score. Ronaldo is more versatile and physically stronger but even though he is damn fast he seldom beats more than one defender if any. They are about equal in terms of finishing,b ut messi is even better creating for himself. Ronaldo is extremely predictable, he will always run into space and looks to shoot, but Messi can also create. While both are not the brightest bulbs in the box, Messi's footballing intelligence is way higher, he can spot mistakes in the defence's positioning and exploit spaces, Ronaldo always takes the obvious run or shot so can always be tracked, admittedly you sometimes still can do nothing about it. Don't get me wrong, I despise Messi as well as Ronaldo as characters but I admire their ability and ronaldo's combination of physical and technical excellence is particularly fascinating, but both are overhyped. These big games in the CL should be where they are rated and both have done fine but nothing as superhuman as the the meida make of them and their crazy scoring records in that shooting gallery league.

Ronaldo might be a great athlete and brillant all round player but he is not really much better than the rest, u always know what he will do next
-
No idea what is behind Fergies selection, but they are totally inferior in terms of quality, kagawa is waste of space in such a game, should have played Valencia, who is as fast and even stronger than ronaldo, to cover this side. I'd also rather have played smalling than evans, who is a liability in every match he plays

what a game, great pace and intensity, even for a neutrals it is breathless.

It is also Pitroipa on the Official website. http://www.afcon2013online.com/index.php/component/content/article/44-news/711-orange-caf-africa-cup-of-nations-awards

No it is not. According to Wikipedia, Jonathan Pitroipa of Burkina Faso has been voted Best Player.

Congrats Victor, you made us all proud :blue scalf: OMG this is probably the most rotten prize-giving ever. A fat greasy man with a 2m² advertising. The ACN obiously still ahs to work out its cermonials. Btw did Victor Moses also get the "best player of the tournament" award or is it just this lousy fair-player award?

LOLZ love it when people pluck some assumption out of the air and build their argumentation on it. The successor of "Mata is on course to a 25 goals, 30 assists season that is why we do not need Lamps" is now "If Rafa would have been Manager from the start we would still be in the CL, that is why Rafa is a great manager". Thanks Rupert for epistemologically running amok in such an entertaining way. In these times we really need any kind of amusement. Btw, maybe you did not get the memo: Benitez and Torres are past it. Cheers.

lol Enyama trying to lift the ref into the air in celebration.

Torres will never get injured. As he never goes for the ball, he is unlikely to be tackled. Have you never wondered why an injury prone player like Torres never got injured for Chelsea? His injury in 2010 scared the shit out of him, it is a psychological block, he does not take any risks IMO thats one of the reasons for his failure here. would be great to win this, esp to have revenge against Atletico, but admittedly unlikely to happen without Ba up front. Still we would be even more fucked without than with Ladyboy, he at least is not slow, does some link up play and can hold on to a high ball in one of three tries. I think Ivanovic, Luiz and Lamps could play there, but it would be a pretty unfamiliar role for them, even if they got the height and finishing ability.

and what a great goal it is, even though a good goalkeeper would easily have collected that second moonball. But IMO we have to shift back to 4-3-3 to use him the right way. --------Mike/Romeu---------- KDB/Ramy----Oscar/Lamps also with Chalobah and McEachran merging we would be better off playing them --------Chalobah ----KDB----------McEachran than somehow moulding them into a 4-2-3-1 cos de bruyne and Josh are both CMs not DMs or CAMs

Great pic, so much symbolism in it. Yeah Ba was invisible the whole game....no way better than the copy+paste skysports ratings. Hence here are mine: Cech 6 Solid as ever, did not really have much to do, but was there when needed as usual. Could not do too much about the goal. His decision to leave his line was reasonable. Iva 6 Was as lucky as solid in defense, had some funny unorthodox tacklings Cahill 5 some unnecessary mistakes, was owned by France Di santo multiple times, failed the offside trap allowing maloney to score. Azpilicueta 8 solid in defense, brillant going forward, demonstrated his awesome technique by assisting two goals and linking up in various slick moves. Had some problems with Mccarthy, Di santo and maloney at times Cole 7,5 Combined well with hazard had some great runs down the flank and caused wigan all sorts of troubles, kept his left side watertight David Luiz 6 could have been a little more commanding in defense, committed too many fouls and let his opponents drift through way too often, provided a passing station in midfield and supported the attack with nice long balls and good runs. Not yet back to full fitness Lamps 8 his passing accuracy has a bit declined in the last 2 season, but nowadays he is maybe the most clinical player on the planet, another absolute quality goal. Good positioning in midfield, dropped really deep to help the build up play and delivered some nice long balls. Ramires 6,5 great finish for the first goal, full of running, a little wild on the right side, but did well defensively, was absent for some stages of the match Oscar 6 put in great effort and produced some magic but ineffective in the end, inspiring figuere but noway close to mata. Hazard 7 back with a bang, really was the king on this left side, could have tried the dribbling more often but won many important goals and took his goal with composure, even though the shot was not perfect Torres 4,5 squandered the few chances he had, did not go for the crosses, runs were clueless, at least provided ramires with a great assist, linked up ok, but honestly everyone can do that. No rating for subs, not enough time to make a real impression

MOTM close between Azpilicueta and Lamps.
-
only Torres can not score that one

LAMPS YOU BEAUTY. When the games goes against us, he is there. The quality of goals he has scored this season is admirable, apart from his usual penalty scoring he has scored so many long rangers and striker's finishes as if he would still be 26
-
Why does cole try to cross to torres instead of pulling back to lamps? would always do that
