Potentially this Nucastle team is a contender for the Eurpean Spots. Every player they got has real talent and the right age. Last time this fixture, Sissoko ripped us a second bumhole, even though Lamps and mata scored absolute crackers. The problem was they sliced through our midfield, which was mainly a consequence of a naive tactics and won't happen again, but still I really hate having Lamps+Rami against a 3 men midfield, especially against one that is so balanced as this Tiote-sissoko-cabaye one. Considering he was arguably our best player vs Arsenal I'd give Essien a start. He is just as strong as Sissoko and Tiote and still a bit more mobile than Lamps. So he will give them a physical battle while Mata, who defo has to play after is performance vs the Arses, Oscar and Ramires slice through them this time. Don't you remembering him rolling over the floor all the time in duels with Luiz. He did nothing in that match against us and he won't do so against any other English opposition. This fifa list is ridiculous. Eden is a brilliant player, but sry, what did he do to merit a place in the top 23 players of the world. The only Chelsea players in there should be Mata, Luiz, Cech and maybe Ramires and Cole. Bu especially Mata had the best season of his career and was our most important player in 2013. How come Hazard has toppled him in that list? Also how on earth did Manuel Neuer get there? Weidenfeller outshone him by far this season. The rest is ok this season I guess. IMO Kompany, best defender in the EPL, should be there in place of Andrea Pirlo who is worldclass only once in a while.

Anyway, Arsenal youngsters are youngsters, our "youngsters" are people like Kalas and KDB who are already mature pros with years of experience in professional football. If Arsenal will field their B-team, too, it will be men vs boys. Anyway our B-team front four consisting of Willian, Mata, KDB and Eto'o would probably start every match for most teams in the world. That depth in offense is just insane. Also Mikel and Essien are highly experienced and proven players. Same goes for Azpi, Bert and Luiz is almost worldclass. The only unknown factor is Kalas, but also he usually knows vaguely what he is doing. He and Luiz must be one of the paciest CB duos ever, which can be chaotic but can also be brilliant. This is a fuckin Capital One Cup match so why not risk it.

KDB only cost us 8m and we already got a loan fee from Werder. Even though we pay his wages for a year, we will make a good profit when we sell him for 15m+ next summer, so why not put him in the shopping window with a loan. It is not the club's responsibility to develop any talented (Beligan) player. If he can't break into the team, that is his fault and not the club's. The club's responsibility is to make good business and buying KDB for 8m just to sell him for double that (which is about his current value) is good business. Job done.

I just re-watched his assist. Gael Clichy is one of the fastest fullbacks in the world but Torres stormed past him like a Ferrari goes past a tractor. Somehow he seems to have recovered his pace which means more than scoring some lucky goals against small teams like he did in his false dawns.

Thing is, we have to maintain our momentum at all costs. I'd even play some starters. We have more depth than Arsenal but they will make up for it by playing a stronger team. The winner depends more on us than on them. If both teams perform to their best, we will easily win.

Cahill, just like Cech, had an error of judgement there. He expected Agüero to cut inside before shooting, so he backed off. It is not the case that he always backs off strikers, but when he does the striker scores thereafter. It looks bad, but you can make a bad decision at times. If agüero had taken a touch, cahill would probably taken the ball off him. When you are 1vs1 with a striker and you got no help, you usually cover the middle and not the outside first, that is what Cahill did, which made him look slow there. When he has the middle and Cech has the near post, nothing will happen. But Cech was as surprised which makes Cahill's mistake look even worse.

Mandzukic would be completely useless in England. Look how skinny he is. He only flourishes in BAyern because of his link up play, but that only works against those soft Bundesliga defenders. Against City and us, Mandzukic was invisible. Don't want him and his tattooed tiny twig arms here.

So fucking amazing today. Worked hard, threw himself in every tackle, absolutely matchwinner. Without him we would probably have lost today. Mourinho has got some life out of him. He still is not that liverpool fear beast. This one would have had a hattrick today, but for the last 5 games he has been a very good striker.

HUGE MOMENT in the season. Absolutely vital win. Now there should be the belief in the team that we can go all the way. We beat City who were not exactly at their best but still a tough nut to crack. We made it messy for ourselves but we responded with great industry and that bit of luck u need. Absolutely deserved win.
