  1. After we lose this following another host of big chances wasted I can already see ppl going like ‘this is a blessing in disguise, so we can concentrate on the league’ … right, we can concentrate on continuing our worst PL season ever. truth be told, going out in the cups early will only aggravate this mess cos we will have less opportunities to play all those youngsters waiting on the wings. We really should use this competition as an outlet. Give everyone a clean slate and try to mentally separate from the poor league form. The only good thing is that Brighton usually don’t park the bus. They will field some young players as well so we will get a lot of chances to score again for sure. Just hope Broja or whoever comes in for Nico has the bottle to convert some
  2. the fact that we are massively underperforming our xG is neither a surprise nor a coincidence/indication that we are unlucky. If someone only looked at these stats in isolation without watching the games and considering the overall squad structure and club atmosphere then yes, unlucky would be the conclusion . But there is obviously an inherent reason. It does not even matter against whom we are creating and missing chances. Our player consistently choke because they are devoid of confidence and grit, no one is willing or able to take responsibility. clearly most are not in a settled enough state of mind to be performing at a high level in front of goal. Most of our players are young weak minds ofc but the overall situation they find themselves in is catastrophic. Until we see competent leadership on the pitch, the sideline and the directors box we will continue to see these kinds of results.
  3. I envy your optimism but I am afraid the absolute opposite is the case. From pre season on there were two scenarios possible: The one where we hit the ground running, build up massive hype with this young team gaining confidence and growing as players and ending up challenging for top 4. And then the one where we get tons of injuries, nothing clicks, everyone goes hiding in their shell, all the young players regressing, losing all confidence and ultimately their market value by immersing in their loser mentality. No leaders on or off the pitch, least in the directors box, everyone is clueless , blaming each other, complete disarray and we end up fighting relegation. Unfortunately the latter scenario is the one unfolding. Sure we could still get lucky, our two only genuine U38 world class players RJ and Nkunku come back fully fit, take responsibility and drag us out of the swamp. but if they don’t, if they - god forbid -end up perma wrecked, there is a real chance this goes further south from here. There is a sizeable probability this entire 1bn generation of youth goes completely down the drain. We bought them all on potential, not ability. They were always only gonna fulfill that potential in a well run club and squad with a competent manager and leading figures to mould them. Not all by themselves among other prospects on a ship without captain or direction. We might very well be finished as a top club for the rest of the decade. I am not trying to be alarmist here but accepting this possible reality will stop a lot of hurt. it might be tempting but anyone who thinks this is just a blip and everything will be fine in a few weeks is deluding themselves. What we see on the pitch is only the tip of the iceberg. Everything points to there being even greater turmoil behind the scenes.
  4. Has slowly gained some form. Think he was good today and vs Bournemouth. As we are unable to score he will now be our most important players. If we can avoid conceding we might still stay up by drawing every game 0-0 from now on lol
  5. Once again the exact result everybody called. No surprise there. 0-0 seems to be the best result we can get these days so maybe just play only defenders next time. Would not put it past Poch tbh. Don’t think we can talk about any positives like that one Mudryk pass or the Caicedo diagonal or the gusto run. As long as no one takes responsibility and actually takes a proper shot there is nothing to be optimistic about
  6. The ref has to be kidding. Martinez Milks a minute and then he whistles 1min early wtf not that we are gonna score anyway. Will be the usual 0-0 unless we make a foolish mistake then 0-1. Rinse and repeat like ever week
  7. Mudryk will turn 23 this season, he is not some kid, he will not improve one iota without playing regularly and he is too bad and shot of confidence to be trusted as demonstrated today. He has dug himself into hole and only he can get himelf out there but I strongly doubt he has the ability to do so. He was a bogus buy to begin with and massively overpaying on him has not helped him at all. It might be of some solace that Werner also continued his career journey downhill. His constant misses have shot his confidence long term and even though he has scored a bit more in weak Bundesliga, he has become obsolete at Leipzig as well.
  8. Pochettino hating Mudryk is not the problem. Mudryk hating to score goals is 😄
  9. Yup, those exact two players would be setting us apart probably. Maybe Caicedo or Badia back would help too. But that's the issue, the strategic planning of the whole club is off. You can't spend 1bn and the rely on 2 extremely injury prone players to set you apart from relegation fodder. We have spent so much on just youngsters that we are left with a poor squad that is poorer and lower on confidence by the day. No leadership or expereince the young ones can learn from on lean on. The club has been set up for chaos. Yes, Poch is not helping either with his weird selections and coward tactics. It may well be he is not that prodigy manager from his 2 decent seasons at spurs anymore but he is no complete dud. The mentality and qualiy is jut weak. No one is taking responsiblity, we try to carry the ball into the net, no one dares to shoot and when they do it's tame. They are all just completely off it mentally. Just a bunch of soft ass gullible youngsters.
  10. 1 point closer to survival. Just 35 more to go lol
  11. Tbh quality wise our squad is no better than say Crystal Palace. Way younger but no better. a few decent pl proven players and lots of raw potential
  12. The ref, commentator, VAR team have mastered the art of fixing the game without it looking like a scandal to a neutral
  13. Enzo is so damn Slow . He has no business in the final third. He should stick to the Jorginho role
  14. Ref has been an absolute joke. Destroying any kind of flow
  15. How can ppl watch our clueless attacking and Enzo out of position and come to the conclusion that Silva is the problem? Sure it does not help when one player is not up to the pace but no one is playing with urgency . It is not silvas fault we can’t convert chances or play accurate through balls
  16. You already feel it is one of those days again. Probably be some dodgy 0-1, 0-0 or 1-1 if we things don’t change Ref is not helping
  17. Agree. Plug in one Mudryk at city and he would be scoring for fun there. But give Pep a squad full of 20 nudryks, maduekes, lavias, Caicedos and nothing else and they would be relegated This squad we have is full of potential and talent but as of right now little quality and experience . That is why even with an arguably better manager we will have a similarly frustrating season as last. Can easily see us have 3 more midtable finishes ahead until the overall leadership, culture and strategy at this club changes.
  18. Everybody looks cold in training. They will still all be shitting themselves in front of goal on Sunday.
  19. And Potter Feb 2023. Maybe he is actually spelled Pochttertinho the only times putting a LB as LW has ever worked for us was when RDM did it vs Bayern 2012 so he could pocket Lahm and allowed us to defensively overload on the right. The other examples would be Raphael Guerrerio and Phonzie Davies who both are more or less better as LW than LB anyway and only play LB bc their competition at LW is technically so much superior
  20. Say hello to Colwill playing lb permanently cos chilly is now our no1 left winger
  21. This one may or may not be a freak accident but overall our injury record hints at poor prehab and conditioning.
  22. Was always gonna be a failure. Bought off 4 half decent CL group games. Probably half or more of all our recent big money youngster gambles will turn out massive busts in the coming months. It’s not even their fault. Our idiot owners treat young players like appreciating assets such as growth stocks. Buy them early, pay over actual value if necessary and watch them blow up. But these are weak gullible kids plugged into a club with little structure, amateurs at every level and a squad full of other gullible kids. The pressure of the price tag alone would crush most but the haphazard set up of the club will do in the rest
  23. Things would improve if he did not blast into the stands every shot he gets good luck with that early exit given the contract. this attitude if true , is exactly what I anticipated with signing all the weak ass gullible youngsters. You have one chance to hit the ground running to get them going. Fail and they will all start crying throwing their toys out and running to mama. This is exactly what will happen in the next few months
