City is scary good. A retort club, the sheicks and cheque book manager guardiola are just a perfect match. Other than Liverpool i can see them dominate english football for ages.
-
I would have expected us to go 4th over Leicester rather than pool but i do not care. Our match at Anfield is now a lot more signficant. But also our penultimate season fixture at home vs Leicester can be decider.
-
At least they will not win the dfb cup this season.^^ i guess a title subscription is basically what every player want and is a big factor for players to join Bayern. Not having to fight for titles is exaclty the point for when they decide to do so.
-
Not fuzzed. Typical Bayern wrapping this up early. Alaba and Boa both to leave. Hope we stay clear.
-
Phew. another unconvincing win. Work in progress still but I hope we get firing at some point.
-
baffling decision he could have just kept the ball and breezed past the defender towards goal. we really lack composure rn
-
Still we had a great team back then. Lampard Makelel Essien Ballack as midfield was immense. We just lacked a proper coach and right back to win it all. we were heads and shoulders above every team in the world bar ManUre in 2008. Would have won the league if Lampard had not been injured for major parts of it.
-
back 4 now with reece on the right, emerosn on the left cho as left winger
-
Kepa our best player so far lol
-
both teams have been unlucky not to score. barnsley more so
-
we really look totally disjointed after all the chopping and changing. This lineup appears to be TT's first blunder. Really should pay more respect to the cup but lets first see how it unfolds
-
it is clearly a back 3 with emerson of all ppl who used to play winger under Sarri and Lampard at times is now at LCB... TT either has some serious balls or is a mad genius. most probably both
-
Yup he usually had a staggered double pivot if you may where the so called metronom would drop deep, almost between the centrebacks to receives the ball. When the opposition tries to press there comes a second dm to break the press and play the ball in the space behind the press.
-
Not seen him much. But 1000mins all season is hardly undisputed starter. I don’t think he has a future here anyway. Simply bought as a foolproof investment.
-
Good. More fixtures for Manure. I think TT can outsmart OGS like he did with Mourinho in the direct encounter
-
He barely play. just 10 starts or so all season. But it does not even matter. WE got him for free, we got 2m loan fee and we can sell him for at least 15m. Easiest profit ever.
-
On the plus side bc he has the body and pace of a 14 y.o. anyway he will not really regress physically with age. I get that he has a football brain and is of some value when distributing balls around a parked bus. But off the ball he is almost useless when opponents charge at him and on the ball he is only good at simple short passes. Can't deal with any kind of intensity. His long passing is decidedly average. No idea why anyone rates this kind of player this much when there have been decades where most elite midfielders could easily do what he does and some.
-
how has he been MOTM 3 times when CHO was MOTM vs Wolves and Burnley whilst Werner was MOTM on Sunday. The Jorginho fanboys are hyping him up again when he is all but a stopgap
-
The way TT has utilised 3 at the back when needing a goal it can be quite flexible. If he puts wingers as wingbacks like he did late in the Wolves game, it could be some kind of 3-2-4-1. I could imagine -----James---AC---Rudi---- CHO----Billy----Kante----Puli -------Havertz---Ziyech------ -----------Tammy------------- to score a ton vs a side that is just there to defend.
-
I hope it is BS. Boateng has lost his pace and his best time is long gone. 5 years ago it would have been a good signing but since then he spends too much time trying to be a fashion influencer. Hard pass in these kind of stopgap signings
-
this is basically the 4th time in a row where we face a physically far superior side. It’s still football and we are technical enough to play our way around a bulky midfield and defence but I would really prefer to have a bit more combative energy in the middle in the future. We really should take this into account in the transfer market in summer. In the Good old days Drogba, Essien, Lampard, Terry we never would get physically bullied. Even under conte we were a fairly resilient. Guys like Jorginho, Alonso, Christensen who can’t run, can’t get a heavy tackle in and are not even that good on the ball are what brought us into a position where we are strugong for top 4 every season. We got away with it yesterday. We might get away with it vs most bottom half teams but it is no coincidence we have failed to impose ourselves in big matches vs aggressive teams for quite some time now. When you are not in control of games on a physical level like today you can always concede a stupid goal from a long ball Doesn’t need to be Mourinho style giants team but players who can do bith technical and physical stuff. This is why signings like Rice, Zakaria, Süle are more like it for the future. No English team has ever won shit without a fair share of strong lads when you think about it. The invincibles arsenal went downhill after guys like viera left, we haven’t challenged big since not properly replacing matic and Costa. Think about it.

Just one point behind Liverpool now
-
Those baby blue kits still look terrible btw
-
Worse, we started doing so at minute 70
