The main difference is that Sarri was obsessed with his 4-3-3 adn insisted us only learning to play 4-2-3-1 once the 4-3-3 is mastered. Tuchel doesnt care much about the system and more about how the team moves as a unit in defence or attack, pressing or counter attacking. If he can translate this onto any system it does not really matter too much which system he picks.

I would love to see Haaland in PL. I think it would be a completely different challange as like you said, defenders here are way bigger and more athletic than in Bundesliga. Haaland might be able to bully BuLi defenders but i can totally see him just bounce off Zouma and not get the foul. Not carryign too much muscle is why he is so athletic and mobile for his height. Putting on more might change his playing style. But if he gets the balance right, i can see him become a mix of ibra and prime drogs.

This alonso apologetism is really painful to read. Like being in a toxic relationship. Alonso has wasted better chances than the one Chilwellhad vs Wolves. Alonso's linkup play with Werner is absolutely terrible. Alonso constantly vacates his position and consequently is found standing on his feet. Alonso doenst recover quickly enough so werner has to race back and defend at the corner flag which completely drains him for counter attacks. Werner will not start scoring regularly again as long as alonso is the player bheind him

If TT still has not seen the light how impotent we are on the left when Alonso plays, he never will. The only hope remains that the board reminds him that there is a 50m signing on the bench. I really hope we see some variation of the linup i posted in the Tuchel thread. The good thing is if we do rotate we actually end up with a better team on paper. What we can not afford is to consistently play 3 absolute snails in alonso, giroud and jorginho. We will get counter attacked to death by Manures insane pace if TT persists on this. I like how TT has given us this ability to suffocate the life of other teams with our high-line and posession but in this particular fixture it can be our downfall. We always have pletny of it vs them. They invite you in and then hit you on the break. we should give them some of their own medicine. Their defensive centre is their weakness IMO. Maguire, lindelöf, mctominay, fred, matic all struggle when isolated and run at. Play Werner, Puli and Tammy and charge the hell out of them.

There are very few. But players with cesc type passing abilities appear to be a thing of the past. But i dont think we need those. We need someone who is somewhat strong and athletic, can hold his positions and play long and through balls between the lines to complement kovacic. The only players who are available and come remotedly close are neves, zakaria, rice and manuel locatelli who i am becoming increasingly convinced by. maybe tielemans, bentancour or camavinga if they develop a more reserved style of play. But we are not making the most of our attackign players in the system we are currently playing. only CHO and Alonso really profit from the way we are playing. Our three most talented, technically gifted attackers Pulisic, Havertz and Ziyech being marginalised is not gonna be helpful in the long term. this is why i do not think this 3-4-2-1 is the way to go. It only works when we monopolize posession which in turn hurts werner who is near on useless in a non-counter attacking system or with players who can play through balls. I still think Lampard was on the right track strategically with the 4-3-3 which Rice would have completed. It is a shame it will never come to fruition partly due to his tactical incapability. The chance i see for Tuchel if he is hellbent on sticking to 3-4-2-1 is to replace Jorginho in the starting lineup with Mount and play Ziyech, Pulisic or havertz in the AM positions. maybe even 2 if the opponent is not that physical or parks it really deep. --------James----Silva---Zouma---- CHO----Mount-----Kova----Chilwell- ----------Ziyech/Kai---Werner/Puli------- ------------Tammy/Kai/Giroud---------- would be worth a try IMO.

atletico's game reminds me of my friends fifa tactic. he just loads the 5 yard box with players so after i outplay him, every shot on goal gets blocked -.-

i really expect more from giroud in this game. he is so much bigger and stronger than their defenders he should be dominating them.
