So sad. His last chance to finish with a trophy. But also symbolic. Big clubs try to build a legacy of triumph by passing the torch of that champions attitude/winning mentality along. Usually this is done by slowly phasing out serial winners after they had the chance to break in the new talent and not cutting them loose all at once like boehly did. Now we have silva outnumbered as one of very few proven winners in a bunch of money grabbing hype boys. Probably even worse in the board rooms of the club. Any remains of winning mentality within the entire club just eradicated by some incompetent Americans in a matter of months. Once we are rid of clownlake only then we can start to rebuild the culture that was brought here by Roman/Jose and carried onto the pitch by JT/Lamps/Petr/Drogs from scratch.

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Personally, I don’t think the squad is shit but it is also not full of WC potential. If this squad were shit we would be hammered in the PL week in week out. But the squad somehow hold up, are the better side more often than not but shoot themselves in the foot regularly due to their lack of experience and winning mentality. Most of the players have average PL level talent. Some like palmer are in a league of their own and some like the three Brighton boys are league one level but most of the rest are just young and mediocre . What I think the future will look like for this club in the next 10 years is upper mid table. Regular in incompetence league or EL and sometimes pushing for 5th in case we get a classy, results oriented coach at some point. There is this gradual decline in the stature of the club that started under Roman, accelerated under Clownlake and will return to trend mean in the next few years: from title winner to title candidate to CL regular to CL spot competitor with occasional successful cup runs to mid table team with unsuccessful cup runs . I am confident will stabilize at upper mid table and remain there for the rest of clownlake era with occasional outlier seasons

Sure you can coach concentration. Usually it is easier with kids but psychologists also teach it to adult professionals. Sure poch can’t but he should know sports psychologists who do. I know that the wc winning German national team had several sports psychologists with them as did many Olympic gold medal winning British teams

somewhat true. Poch set up the team correctly in the beginning yes but when your striker fucks up the same chances the same way every game over the course of a full season and your team concedes a late goal every week then surely there is something wrong with the coaching.

Except away to ManUre and pool we outplayed pretty much every big team this season but failed to take our chances like we always do. Quality teams are even more likely to punish but even the samll ones have taken advantage of our sluggishness late on.

honestly unless we are like 3-0 up going into the last 10mins of the game you just know we are gonna lose to one or more late goals. It is always the same with this team of chokers. can not even blame poch only. Sure he is a serial loser but so is Jackson for missing all these easy chances

Jackson is morphing into Werner. His off the ball movement, linkup play, workrate and pace seems to be improving steadily while his technique and finishing seems to be approaching amateur level.

He literally beat the ball away. there have been pens given for having the ball deflect onto the arm by some freak ricochet and this is a clear deliberate denial of a shot on target by using the hand it is not even a corner. that is the most disgusting wembley call... since our last game here
