Chill out !!! I said you don't like Studge - that's vague e.g. Same as you saying you don't rate him here as best striker etc Same thing mate Well we have to get Falcao first ! The rumours linking Danny away are stronger than the rumours linking Falcao in, so as they say, don't count your chickens before they hatch I still think this was a massive waste of time without ever giving Danny a true go at it...
-
Forget the black pudding - get them square sausages down ya!!! Miss those the most from Scotland We do need some PROVEN winners in the team, helps carry the youngsters and settle things down. Please God let Falcao be a hit if we sign him !!!!
-
This is the funniest post of the year! Asking a person with the name 'we hate Scouse' if he has read a letter from the Liverpool chairman! Rofl
-
Nope why would we? You don't like Studge, thats cool - but trust me, you will wish in 18 months we hadn't sold him...
-
Saying that Moses is better than Studge is also a step too far IMHO I would pick Danny over Moses anytime.... Studge is going to end up a Liverpool legend and we did this when is SOMEBODY at CFC going to look at the future!!! Glen Johnson already scores against us, now we send them another player - sigh...
-
I think about even IMO Walcott is hit and miss and so too has Studge in the past - but they both have bags of potential... And pace
-
Excellent post I think he's been ok last few games, nothing special, just solid. But think you hit the nail on the head with the ball retention - is not just the passing, it's the complete lack of movement from the team that limits passing options look at Swansea, Wigan and WBA before the slump, they all passed and moved and created triangles. We did this sort of, for a few games, then lost our way. It's the Managers and Players responsibility to get this back!!! Then we can start destroying teams!
-
Good point on merchandising - Would be good to see how many shirts were sold with Torres on, but does that actually equate to a Torres inspired sale, or would they still have got the shirt but with Lamps or Terry instead? I hope he's sold 50million worth!!! Then we can flog him for a profit (less wages)...
-
Think we all get it Price Tag <> success. In fact I guess there is an argument that the > price tag, the > risk of failure... Because once the money is spent the player has to deliver and will be scrutinised harshly, just look at Hazard - he's under pressure every game - really don't think we have done a good job of integrating our new players... It's the sink or swim methodology and at the minute, treading water is what we are getting... Found some amazing players on FMH cheap - think we should snap them up Will post them tomorrow - on other iPad
-
^^^ This, our team used to be beasty but skilful - JM really had a great balance... Just wonder if he could do it again And would they bring back tha advert of him with the umbrella?
-
Your optimism is rubbing off on me Gonna go sign him on FMH quickly and see what he's like
-
I'd definitely swap nuts! Tits are so much more fun than asses
-
Sound post - agree on the Studge+Wellbeck never being first choice - think Wellbeck loses the ball a bit too much. 12 million is a good price - but think the OP was saying we're now having to chuck an extra 33 million at it, instead of being able to 'test' it out - just spend money, without putting in the hours? Well that's my take on it anyway?
-
Lol how did a Sturridge thread end up as Mikel / Ramires debate ROFL Back to Studge! Pllllease don't go... (What was that song by the same name) remember it when I was around 14-15.. James?
-
Yup, but why did we sign an out of form Torres? Because he 'was' a Star... Same old Shit or Bust mentality Why can't we just get another Eidur + Jimmy - they were so awesome together - always remember Eidurs goal against Utd, little dink in mid air over the keeper and Jimmys rifled in shots with no backlit (big ass and no knee bend)... Even Flo would be awesome!
-
Lol little harsh but those DVDs are ALWAYS worth watching Hmm no work tomorrow might have to watch them from 2003 onwards
-
That's my point above - he wasn't a 'Star' so wasn't considered... Bah... I'd have him just so we start playing as a Team again - 50 million is cheap for that... Just feel Torres is dragging whole team down...
-
Ok, let me first say 100% agree! But, there's always a but - we can't compare CFC to Arsenal Wenger has a structure and playing style built up over a number of years and knows what roughly fits into his team, he also makes mistakes lmao (Gervinho) but as you said they ain't 50 million gambles. He invests little and often to shape a team, we go Vegas style Shit or Bust - normally Bust I just don't think with the manager merry-go-round we have the stability to buy 3-4 cheap players, wean them in and offload what doesn't work, we will always buy the latest Star... I mean look at how Marin has been treated along with Studge - poor lad deserves a run of games!!!
-
Not gonna call you crazy, quite a few people share this view... Just a waste and like Hutcho says, think him and Suarez could partner up well, both fast, tricky players and with Sterling not a bad attacking trio... #sigh
-
Yup praying to the footballing Gods Still would love Biscuits at the Bridge
-
To be fair though in 25?+ years - you're going to make mistakes and its not all Fergie, there's a whole network of coaches, assistants etc providing input... Similar to when I worked at Codies - we had the chance to sign some great games, but they got turned down, someone else snapped them up and made millions. Like I said hard to predict Potential Anyway off-topic now
-
Cleverly is a decent player IMHO and is getting better and better season by season. Anderson - can you really blame Fergie? If Anderson was unhappy about it, surely he would leave or at least ask for a transfer? Don't know much about Pogba - but will say Italian league and EPL very different, more time on the ball in Serie A... Some players need that extra time to be good - some don't - maybe that's what Fergie and his assistants saw in training day in day out? Can't polish every turd into gold Hope we can with some strikers in Jan tho!
-
I have little knowledge of Portugese league so will shut up To be fair though Hazards videos from French league and EPL are a little different, EPL is a much tougher league a lot less time on the ball and much worse weather I mean remember Veron!!! He was awesome in Italian league and sucked so bad in EPL - he actually reminds me of Torres a lot!!!
-
Hmm maybe a difference in footballing opinion I don't want my Striker tracking back I want him on the half-way line keeping 2 defenders occupied and stopping back passes... Mata is not a striker, he should track back!!! Hmm lots of strikers fail to score relatively easy chances? Torres, RvP for United etc - surely you have to agree that a good player gets himself in a place to score before missing? Some players need a run of games to get match sharp, I think Danny is like that. He does create opportunities though... And as you said can score some blinding goals. Rumours spread like crazy - if there have been no hard facts it's just rumour - probably started by Torres when he realised he might have competition for his place. Well looks like this a moot point as every 'rumour' lol suggests he's off - I hope he isn't - Falcao showing him the ropes would be awesome...
-
Hmm Anderson is ok had injuries and weight problems? Nani was never as good as Ronaldo and I think tried to copy CR7 a little too much... Buying 'potential' is always a gamble, both players would get in any decent teams squad and be used regularly - so not a complete loss.
