  1. Please God NO! Go back and watch some of Ramires other games - he sucks on RW, Moses or Marin are much better options Ramires best place is box-to-box midfielder - seriously that's his best position, well I shout less at him in that role than on the wing... Sometimes he just appears brainless and gives the ball away cheaply! At least his finishing has improved though Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, but he's another Kalou when playing RW
  2. Seems perfect then - him and JT can compare notes :)
  3. You have to be realistic - 27 = 4-5 good years minimum as a striker, before needing to be phased out... That's a long time to amortise a transfer and is perfectly adequate for FFP, where I would expect the 'mean' to be around 4 years - dependent upon the contract duration the player signs up to, most are 3-5 years. So signing a 27 or 28 year old player is perfectly fine and will not damage anything, plus we have younger options, Lukaku and some promising reserves to come through. If this guy can score goals, fit into the team and give 100% every game - he gets my vote...
  4. We should sign Zaha then and if needed loan him back to Palace until the summer...
  5. Lmao yup Carew - for games against Stoke Walcott deffo, Dzeko deffo - BA if he becomes realistic maybe, just worried it would be another Casaraghi moment for CFC, Lewandoski agreed Still want Falcao in the summer tho and Torres going other way in cash + player deal
  6. Wow good call He's a great player Such a cool name as well
  7. I'm not disagreeing with that statement From your posts, you seem very logical and analytical - trouble is, football is anything but I would play him if I was in charge, but Egos tend to make people make rash decisions and then they won't u-turn Maybe he isn't good enough, but with Studge going, Lukaku staying out on loan, I admit I just want ANY recognised forward, I even mentioned John Carew lol in another post We simply cannot continue with JUST Torres Look at Utd, awesome strike force, scoring for fun, same with City, Utd even linked to Lewandoski !!! We need some of that !!! At least 3-4 quality strikers ready to battle it out on the pitch!!
  8. I really hope so - he's a Chelsea legend though, look at how many posters at the ground have Zola on them I think you are right though, after seeing what happened to RDM I expect him and other managers to think twice...
  9. Hmm some games Drogba was average at best and often sulked... BUT on his day he could single handedly destroy any team. I'm still liking the idea of Walcott up front
  10. Agree once he takes the hot-seat he's likely to be fired I hope Zola doesn't come here - couldn't handle that happening to him - would REALLY shake my foundations of trust in CFC Whatever Lamps does, hope it works out for him.
  11. Lol - like RDM this is more of an 'emotional' debate. I think the board are running the club well, posting a profit was an awesome performance If Frank is serious about staying he must realise FFP means he needs a paycut. If the BA situation is true, I like the new approach by our board in contract negotiations, due to a limited capacity compared to Utd, City and Le Arse - we don't generate enough match-day revenue, we have to rely on more and more 3rd party sponsorship deals. Business is simple, keep the fixed costs low and variable costs under scrutiny. The 150k week stuff is no longer affordable in a world consisting of Global Recession. Players, Fans, Clubs have to be realistic in times of economic austerity, if Frank only expects to play 1/2 the games, he should be willing to take a 50% pay cut - it's only fair... That's still 75k week unbelievable money - he earns in 1.2 weeks what I earn in a year!!! So I would love Frank to stay, but he needs to be realistic on wages and our Board do need to tread carefully...
  12. Stats are tough tho! On paper Torres looked good before joining Mid-table team, won't create many chances etc - could be adversely affecting him? Like others said, less than 10mill could be worth a gamble...?
  13. Hmm saw an interview with him and he said he wants to? Quick google shows loads of comments around August that he wanted to? Maybe it was just wishful thinking on his part - if he's done nothing about it...
  14. Dam -will update Tello too IPad makes me so lazy - cant be arsed to cross reference
  15. Did he sign a new contract in December then? As I know Schalke were worried about it? December was a bit of a boozy mess for me TBH so probably missed an announcement ?Edit: Fuck he signed on Sunday, will edit original post
  16. Ok been trawling through FM / Internet and these players contracts are up in the summer: (good players) 1) Llorente 2) Walcott 3) IGNORE - Huntelaar - signed new deal 30th Dec... 4) Cristian Tello (promising young forward @ Barca) 10mill release clause!!! 5) Lewis Holtby (amazing on FM - could be useful here ) 6) Sulejmani (striker for Ajax) 7) Flamini (ex-arsenal midfielder, average) 8) John Carew - lol, good plan B though, scored some good goals in prem from what I remember... 9) James McFadden - ok player So lots of potential bargains, I would like: 1 + 2 + 4 and 5 Interested to hear your thoughts Edit: Huntelaar signed new deal on 30th, updated to reflect, cheers to @Marvin123 for the info Edit: Tello agreed new contract 10mill release clause, thanks to @slam dunk and @corner
  17. Nope they showing Everton game Looks like crappy stream time again
  18. Like your post, but not sure if he should come back, if he does come back and sits on the bench we won't find out much about him here... At WBA he is playing more and scoring - I definitely think a full season on Loan is what he needs It's a tough call and with Studge leaving we do need to do something regarding strikers Where's my crystal ball I would love it to be true that Torres leaves - just can't see it, unless Rafa gets a job elsewhere If we are going to play Lukaku next year then we don't need BA, we need somebody like Villa on loan, but that looks fucked now as well!!! Football - so annoying and rewarding!
  19. Scholes took a job coaching the young guys at Utd Lampard should do the same, he's taken or is taking his coaching badges remember an interview last year. He should be groomed by the club to train the current midfielders and the youth guys, as well as staying at the club - potentially for the managerial hot seat in 3-4 years. Maybe start as Assistant or something and work up. It just makes no sense for a true legend to walk away! Look how successful other Chelsea staff have been in managing other clubs - sure Rogers, Clark and even Zola are all doing well - much better than Roy Keane, Steve Bruce etc So c'mon Chelsea - sort it out
  20. Jesus since when was 27 considered too old? It's not FM or FIFA - we can have 'prime age' players too Successful teams blend Youth+Experience - we need to do that BA's greedy agents have blown it, so f**k him and hello (possibly) this guy
  21. I was hoping the results today would go for us, so we could rest some players - but typically!!!!! Arghhh! I think we need full strength team for 45 mins, go 3-0 up, bring on 3 subs second half 60, 65 and 70 mins... So at least they get some rest, sub Mata first, then Hazard and then whoever else is knackered? Just HAVE to WIN !!! Also when do we play our game in hand? Want us to play that soon, so we can cement third and narrow the gap to second, put a bit of pressure on Man Shitty and demoralise the teams competing for 4th (assuming we win both of course)
  22. 30 million for him!!!! No way!!! Go sign Loic Remy, that Newcastle were also after and leave BA in Newcastle. There's so many better players than him, 90k week, double your money, WTF he should take a cut to come here and compete for trophies!!! Definitely NOT CFC material!!!
  23. Cheers @kojo I'm going to nominate you, think your posts have been great over the past month! Where's @wehatescouse gone? Mention to the usual suspects too
  24. RDM shouldn't have been treated like he was - I agree That's the problem with football nowadays - it's a cut-throat business I do think RB is doing a good job, it will be tough for you to accept him, but he isn't as bad as the media made out, a lot of comments were took out of context. The media like to fuck with CFC, so take everything they say with a pinch of salt. RB is doing his best for us, has recently purchased a young lad who was ripped off tickets to SB. He didnt have to do that, but I genuinely think he's a decent bloke - so he did. He does a lot of charity work too - that's why Liverpool fans still rate him and defend him like crazy. I guess the only way to look it as if Jose Mourinho joined Liverpool and their fans were slating him, wouldn't you be defending him against them? I know I certainly would. So that's the Rollercoaster of football - if we keep winning and improving, I will back him - we have some fight in us and that I like, we are not out of the title race in all honestly and if we win our game n hand are a few points clear in 3rd that's what we wanted and needed this year.
