Fair points - but I posted elsewhere for a debut at home in the CL the ridiculous form we were in - it wasn't bad. Also the guy ain't stupid he's seen / heard others get one or two games then moved on. I can't say I'd perform to my best in those circumstances - but I would give it a good go and that's what I thought he did. To be fair you can only beat what's in front of you and we have lost to some crap teams in the past - so yes not a brilliant performance. But, like my mate says who's a semi pro snooker boy - he won't play with shit players (like me) as it drags his game down, he always plays equals or better so it raises his game - in my mind that could have also been applicable last night. But that's what makes the world an interesting place - different viewpoints

I don't think Baba was too raw - seen a lot of comments about that. Debut, first game, at home, champions league - that's a shit ton of pressure. He reminded me of Celestine Babayaroo (jesus been ages since I had to spell that, hope I got it right!). He looked pretty composed, some decent passing, great overlapping and a few wayward crosses - but it was a pretty convincing debut in my eyes. I think in 3-4 games he will definitely be getting it together. Remember Azpi had a slow burn start to his career here - I think the same for Baba. I for one loved how we suddenly had much more space - left footer on the left and right footer on the right - both made sure we had width in the shape - which is something we have lacked for ages.

Agree with this 100% But - I hope last night has at least clicked something in Mou's head - that the 'fringe' players deserve more chances. Yes the oppo was awful - but last night was simply a case of winning - the fact it happened with the main protagonists of frustration on the bench was a good thing! Regarding your part about the EPL - I also agree and think we have been stuck in a rut since 'possession football' became a thing. Every English team is so fucking obsessed with possession - but as we have seen time and time again, possession does not equal a win - goals are what count! I think the EPL needs to shape up and start producing faster attacking football - forget this slow possession based bollox. The EPL was strongest when the game was paid with speed. I hope Mou realises this and we ditch our boring laboured build up play and focus on quick passing and movement with some nice triangles - where every player always has a pass.

I don't think people are fickle I think they're Frustrated Today we changed the personnel and got a much better team - even missing a pen didn't make their heads drop! This was a joy to watch, some heart, desire and commitment. Now every negative Mourinho post I have seen - has been about him not changing players - he did and it worked. So I would potentially reclassify 'fickle' as 'correctly frustrated'
